I scheduled two appointments with you and nobody showed up to either appointment. There was an emergency for the first appt and nobody called to reschedule. We have used you in the past and have been very happy. However, after this experience we will no longer. Terrible service. read more

We had been needing a large messy tree trimmed back away from the house and just cleaned up in general for quite a while. Cost was a factor in our ignoring the situation. But then Christian came to me while I was working in my garage. He gave me instant good vibes and I asked him for a quote. The quote was quite generous and we booked him for the next day. He showed up with his truck, tree grinder and another guy. Very efficient, professional and an all round nice guy. We couldn't be happier with the service provided. Thanks, Christian! read more

Spartan Tree Service, The Greater Sacramento Area, CA, March 5, 2024 When we first bought our house, the backyard at the time was a blank slate. Just dirt. We had fun creating a nice design and planting lots of awesome trees and bushes. Fast forward 17 years and all those little trees and bushes are fully mature. One of our trees is an olive tree. It was fun to watch it grow; however, one of its limbs shot up faster than the rest of the tree to over 20 feet tall. It was also growing over the fence into my neighbors yard. About five weeks ago, Sacramento saw some of the highest winds in recent history. The maximum recorded speed was 65 mph. That was enough to completely blow our backyard wood fence completely to the ground. With the fence down, I took the opportunity to do some major trimming of the backyard trees and plants. The olive tree, however, was just too high for me to feel comfortable about climbing up and trimming. I decided it was time to call a tree service. But which one? Yelp to the rescue! I did a search for tree cutting services in our area. It was pretty cool. Yelp found tree trimming companies and gave me the option to request quotes. So that's what I did. Four companies began correspondence through Yelp almost immediately. Christian, owner of Spartan Tree Service, was the first to make an appointment with me. He showed up at our place in less than an hour and gave me a quote. I was happy with the quote that included hauling off the debris, so we set up an appointment for him to come back later in the afternoon. Christian showed up at the appointed time with his 30 foot boom and tree cutting and disposal equipment. He and his assistant Carlos made quick work of cutting down the tall branch and taking it away. He also took away some other debris that I had trimmed. I was very impressed with his service and I highly recommend him. Spartan also comes with a $2500 Yelp satisfaction guarantee to support this five star service. read more

Spartan tree service was able to come out on a Wednesday evening to give a quote. Christian, the owner was very thorough and walked around our house, talked about the 8 trees they would trim back. He and his crew were able to come Friday (Same week) and did an amazing job at giving our very over grown trees, a very needed trim, Along with clearing them off the roof. I only gave 4 stars and not 5 for growing pains. For being a new company, Spartan tree is by far the best I've had out in the 20+ yrs we've been in our home. Thank you read more

Last year, Christian removed all the mistletoe from my huge Modesto Ash, trimmed my also huge Mulberry to comply with insurance requirements (and he knew exactly what they would want), and he took down a small tree stump I had pruned down myself. He graciously took away debris from much other pruning I did myself. This year, he did a smaller job to trim my Mulberry out of utility wires and to remove all of it's street overhang. I will keep coming back to Christian because of his expert knowledge, beautiful, clean work, competitive pricing (the best), quick response, and overall caring personality. He can do the job and it's pretty fun to watch him do it. I know I can ask him for any kind of job, whether big or small. He always performs above and beyond. I recommend Spartan Tree Service 100%. read more

Good job on shaping my Italian cypresses and trimming two trees on my property. Work was done on time for a fair price.

We had called the police, fire department, and they refused to help, we called other tree services but no one was able to help. Christian was able to come and help get our stuck cat out of a very tall tree for a very affordable price. They came quickly and got our cat down within 5 minutes. Although this service is not offered by them, Christian said he liked cats and wanted to help. Thank you so much for your help!! read more

So far, so great!! I posted this project just this morning and received an immediate response from the owner Christian. He was either nearby or on another job and was actually able to come over to my house for a free estimate. He was very professional and after our walk-through and some quick math, his quote beat out 2 other companies. Christian has my business and will be out in just a few days to the complete the work as described. I will come back after the project is complete to leave my final review. Set up an appointment for a free consultation and they never showed up. Once the appointment was made there was no further contact.

I'm so lucky that they were in the neighborhood! All my neighbors kept mentioning I had a dead tree but I just haven't had any luck getting a good price or someone trustworthy- until today! So professional, fast, honest, and reliable. And the clean up was perfect. You would never that I was that neighbor with a dead tree. My front yard looks perfect now thanks to Spartan Tree Service! read more

Terrible experience. They don't show up, fail on returning calls and messages. Don't bother with this company

Contacted Christian the night of the big recent storm about some big Redwood trees that were too close to the house and potential hazards we have been worried about for some time. The next day he came out and gave us a very reasonable quote and got us in the same week. Showed up on time, guys were all very hard working and trees were taken down, chipped and gone in 1 day as promised. Christian also helped out our parents that lost a tree the same week and took down some other hazardous large oaks on their property. We have had a ton of tree work and they exceeded our expectations, we would definitely recommend Christian and his crew and will be using them again in the future. read more

Christian and his crew were excellent. I had a big job, with 14 huge palm trees that had to be taken out of a relatively small backyard with a pool, a pool shed and other trees to navigate as they were taking down the trees. Several were growing up on to the concrete around the pool, so presented some extra logistical challenges for them to figure out as they were taking them out and grinding stumps. The guys were very professional and amazed me with their ability to figure out how to get huge trees down safely in tight spaces. The price was extremely fair, done quickly and done well. Very highly recommend Spartan. Trust them with whatever job you need done. read more

Christian with Spartan Tree Service is the man. Though I haven't had Spartan cut any trees for me yet, this is a different kind of review, Quick story on the type of person Christian is and the type of character he has. It was like 8:30 on a random Tuesday night... My kids & I were out at a park flying a drone. Long story short, the drone got stuck high up in a tree. I tried to climb it, but where the drone was stuck, it was almost impossible to reach it by climbing. It was way past normal business hours & honestly never thought we were going to find anyone to help us get it back. I called spartan tree service already knowing that it was a crazy request, knowing that this was not something they normally do on a regular basis, answering random help calls for drones stuck in trees, it was completely after hours, also keeping in mind how much it costs for a company to send a truck out somewhere with fuel costs / labor etc. I just called to see if any possible way, they could come out and help us with their bucket truck. Without hesitation and within 20 minutes Christian was out there on site with his truck and got us our drone back. I offered to pay him for the service and Christian told me not to worry about it this time, he said that he was happy to help us and to just consider it a community service. I am positive Christian had just worked a full day himself and was probably exhausted, he was Just getting back home from his work day when I called him for help. He could have laughed and hung up the phone and I wouldn't have blamed him. But he came out and saved our day and did it all with a good vibes and a smile on his face. When we met Christian, we just immediately got the vibe that he is a good honest person. And I'm sure the same characteristics carry over with him as a business owner. 100% The type of person you would want to hire to handle your jobs. Very cool of him to help out. We couldn't thank him enough for the help. Thank you Christian & Spartan tree service! read more

They were very quick to respond, and they inspected and quoted on short notice. They removed a fallen redwood from our roof without causing any further damage to our house or property. They worked fast, but carefully. They cleaned up very well, leaving our yard looking nice again. The pricing was very reasonable compared to other quotes we received. They are not trying to take advantage of your situation and are very respectful. Highly recommend. read more

We liked the quote from Spartan and they tackled a big tree removal job for us at a fair price. They were on time and efficient.

Requested an estimate for a tree trimming, made contact with someone Monday 8/5/24 and she attempted to set us up with a meet that evening but we had other obligations so she scheduled a meet at 9:00-10:00 the following morning (8/6/24). No one showed up and no one called to let us know they were not coming. I tried to call several times with no answers. Somewhat disappointing, not sure I understand the high ratings I for one have never been stood up like this so pretty tough to even deliver a 1 star, especially with a no show and no reason as to why. read more
