I've been seeing them for a little over a year for my back and we have worked on everything from medication management to epidurals. I've needed a few referrals and once I requested the referral, usually with in a week the other doctors are calling me. The front office staff is very friendly and helpful a as well.

I've NEVER had a pleasant experience with her....ever. And I have been a patient with this practice for 15 years! Because I don't have health insurance and due to circumstances at home, (I live with a partner that is abusive and have been working on an exit plan for several years), we made an agreement when Nexus took over for Dr. Patel, that I will do a drug screen every three months because of the exorbitant cost and because my abuser/former partner was paying the bill and I had to endure his anger every time I come in. On February 26th, of 2026, overnight, I had to flee my home and my abuser, and enter a Domestic Violence shelter in North Georgia. I literally left with the clothes on my back! I am also a self pay patient because I am unemployed because of my abuser. My last appointment was February 22nd and I took a drug screen and paid $325.00. Today is Thursday, April 23rd and I came in for my next appointment and before I even started to check in, I was asked for payment of $325.00. The shelter had provided me with a letter to prove I am a resident, enough gas to drive the 2.5 hours to get here, and provided me with the normal monthly payment of $150.00. I also had to get up at 4:30 am and leave by 5:30 am, to make the long drive down and be here by 8:00 am. Upon check-in, I quietly explained my situation because I was told I would be paying another $325.00 for this visit. (Completely against the agreement we have had for the last several years...again!), I asked if I could speak to the billing manager to explain my circumstances and show them the paperwork that the shelter provided. For the record, I have NEVER FAILED a drug screen. In 15 (fifteen) years, I have NEVER failed one! I also bring my medication in voluntarily, to be counted when I come in. They have never asked me to, but they make me feel so incredibly uncomfortable about it, I automatically bring it in, because I am fearful of being accused of something nefarious and want to be as open and honest as I possibly can. As a matter of fact, I am only given a 1 month supply and I break them in half some days to try and stretch them as far as they will go, in order to save money. So technically, I don't even take as much as prescribed. I am 100% in compliance! The last time I was here, I finally spoke to the NP about it and she told me not to worry, that she knew I was being extremely cautious and that I was doing everything right. She said she would speak to the front office staff about it and she would let them know that I was completely in compliance! I start a new job next week, and I will be working in a factory, which will be extremely stressful on my body. I will also be on a 90 day probationary period where I cannot miss a day, or I will receive a point on my record. I made the appointment for today, so that I can avoid being penalized, and so I could make sure I have enough medication to perform the job duties that will ultimately help me escape the abuse that I was living in. Again....I am doing everything possible to mitigate my circumstances but because NEXUS refuses to adhere to the agreement we made, I had to leave and was refused service. Hence the reason I have reached my limit and am writing this review. Ironically, after 90 days on the new job, I will have health insurance and won't have to deal with this. Not to mention, Nexus will actually make MORE MONEY because self pay patients are given a reduced rate. Furthermore, after stepping away to call my new job and the shelter to see if I could reschedule the appointment, I could hear them talking about me behind my back at the front desk. They were laughing and complaining about me and I heard EVERY WORD! For someone that just escaped domestic violence, these ladies retraumatized me today, wasted what little resources I had and will now cost me a point at my new job.

He's not a bad doctor or it's not a bad office it's the bad apple patients that are making pain doctors come off as cold. If you do what your asked, give honest feedback on your treatment and have realistic goals of pain management then there are no issues with this doctor, staff or practice. He refused to refill a medication I know works as while in Hawaii we tried numerous things to help me not be in so much pain and have some sort of quality of life and this was the one. Then proceeds to send me to a physical therapist who was worthless and thinks stretching is a cure all for hereditary problems. His reason behind not prescribing it to me once it became legal for Alabama. He doesn't believe in it... So because he doesn't believe in something that I was taking prior and it was helping. I was his patient for 15 years and he was on Hammond Dr just off 285 and maybe 1/2 mile from 400 for over 12 of those years. How do I know because I was his patient. I fallowed him when the company he and partner in the practice hired to manage their practice scammed them out of their practice. I fallowed him from there to snellville ga then to Woodstock ga up untill he left pain management to return to an anesthesia for surgery patients. Dr Kevin Sheahan is an awesome human being and amazing Dr and unless you were pill farming I can say without a doubt he wouldn't yell at a patient. And was not in Newnan several years ago.
