I had to have the hardware taken out of back because it made my pain worse and it still hurts to this day from Aug. 1999 to May 2025 and it has gotten worse. I think they think I am only going for the opioids but they are wrong. I have been on very strong medication like 400 mg morphine and it didn't help me. I have taken methadone. oxycontin, and did the fentanyl patch but none worked so I told them I didnt want any of this so 2 10/325 oxycodone is all they give me and I stay in so much pain I can't do much of anything. My anxiety is out the roof and my nerves are shot because of the pain, but they want give me anything more than that. The people and Drs who wrote this for just anyone hurt it for people like me and others who really need the medicine for real pain.

While I'm just trying to understand what they need. I will never call or send anyone here who doesn't want help because she repeated herself too much. Just because I said something that she didn't agree with and I still wanted to make an appointment but she kept stating what they can and can not do. I was frustrated and upset. I have an MRI showing this that I brought into Dr. Xu. It was around a year and a half old. Before given me a cortisone shot for pain, he wanted a second one. I asked why and he said "because it could be something else there causing the pain and discomfort, like cancer". I responded that I felt that was extremely unlikely, as my symptoms shown in the MRI I presented were quite clear, and the pain I had today was consistent with what I had back then, and that it instead being a new cancer growth over the past year is so unlikely that I found it quite comical that he would suggest that. Nevertheless, he said it was necessary. I called his office twice more after learning that a new MRI would be $1,000. I explained to them that I could not afford this and I really needed a shot in my back for pain management. Both times Dr. Xu refused. It's quite clear. Doctors like Dr. Xu are so prancingly afraid of crossing off every little box to make sure they can't get sued that they will allow someone like me, because I can't afford it, to continue to walk around in pain. Oh, and that 15 min visit with him cost $509. What a joke.

The center said any patient could speak to his care team about any concerns or problems symptoms however the care team would not call back !!!! even when symptoms that were serious came about !!!! I had to call back four times before I could speak with anyone and then the nurse was rude and condacending!!! The people at the center do not care for your loved ones as their commercials that they have on tv or radio !!! My husband had a skin graph done and the recovery nurse tore at the dressing in recovery and he had to go to the urgent care at city of Hope !! the urgent care was a joke too !!! After several years as a patient my husband was told he could not come back due to dr Bruno not liking being asked questions !! She thinks she is above professionalism and questions and compassion!!! She is burnt out and uncaring and rude !!! the CEO could care less about any wrong doing at the center and will refer you to patient advocates who will not call you back !!!
