We are a business customer with Nextlink and received consistently good speed and excellent support when we first began using them. During the daytime our speed varies but it drops off severely at night. Outages are also becoming more frequent. As a business, we pay premium rates for our service and were told we would get priority support when needed. Now we have long wait times on hold or for call backs before we are able to speak with anyone and contact with management is non-existent. If things improve I will gladly update this review. As it stands, I would not recommend Nextlink to anyone needing high speed, dependable connectivity. Look elsewhere. read more

I called Nextlink two weeks ago to set up an installation date and the soonest date they had was two weeks out on Dec. 5th. I asked to be added to their will call list since I desperately needed the service for my two children who are in online high school classes needed the internet and we had already waited on two other internet companies to come out for installation dates but were unable to get a clear signal from our location. I waited on them most of the day, December 5th as they were supposed to arrive between 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. The installer never showed or called. I called the next day to ask what happened. The man who answered said there had been a service call emergency and I had been rescheduled to the 15th. I was furious and asked why they would do that without calling me and after I had already waited two weeks! He said they called me on the 3rd to reschedule and left a voicemail which I never received. Then I said how did you know about an emergency two days in advance. He couldn't explain that but said they were offering me $10 off my installation. I laughed! Really? $10 off for waiting another 10 days after waiting 2 weeks already. I asked for them to move up the date. He said they had nothing available. I asked to speak to a supervisor. He put me on hold and came back saying none were available they were all in a meeting, but created a ticket so a supervisor could call me as soon as they came out of the meeting. Well it's been over an hour and I've had time to write this entire complaint using my cell phone typing with one finger! And, the longer it takes for them to respond the more time I have to leave reviews about my experience on multiple sites. *Update* After a couple hours I did get a call from a manager who only continued to offer me $10 off installation and repeatedly told me that when a current customer has problems with their service they have to give them priority over new installations, and how once I'm a customer that I would in fact receive that same treatment. In the meantime however I guess I wasn't a priority. Right before I hung up I did let him know that I had already put a negative review online. Then, about an hour after that phone conversation I received a call back from that supervisor. He had decided to go to management and ask if he could offer me any other solution. Surprisingly, he was now available to offer me a next installation free of charge. I was appreciative and took the appointment for the next day from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. The installer called me the next day at 11:30 to ask me my address and how to get to my house. They arrived at exactly 12 p.m. and were here for about three hours doing the install which meant I was restricted to staying home from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. And, the installer seemed extremely confused when we asked him to drill the hole and come in through our closet wall instead of our bedroom wall which would mean the wire would be visible coming across the room to the spot where the router would be placed. It was the same outside wall he wanted to drill into only a few feet down, but he eventually understood what we wanted and proceeded to do so. Eventually the install was done but my husband ended up having to miss an appointment for work because they were here so late and he didn't want to leave me and my son alone in the house with two men. I know that is not necessarily something he had to do but felt better doing it. Once they were done, they informed us we needed to pay. I was confused because the supervisor had said it was free. But, apparently I misunderstood. We were still responsible for paying the first month up front which I was a little nervous about based on everything I had been through with their customer service so far I wondered if their internet service would be comparable. We have had the service for a little less than 24 hours and it seems to be working well for everything that we want to do, even streaming movies without delay. But this morning I was contacted by someone in upper management through a message on Yelp asking me if I was satisfied with the outcome would I consider changing my review. So that is what I have done in updating it with this second part of my review. Very long story made short, they seriously need to work on their basic customer service issues at Nextlink and until you make their mistakes public they are unwilling to fix them. read more

Started out great last year. Since June has been as bad as Skybeam. Frequent poor internet service, or complete loss of connectivity. Down or severely underperforming more than half the week. Multiple calls to customer service result in "tickets being put out to the tower" and a call back in a few days saying everything should be working....then the next day its broken again. Bottom line is if you are wanting to stream music, video, play games, or connect remotely to your work (you know...do internet things) this is not the ISP for you. Weatherford is fortunate enough to be covered by 3 or 4 wireless ISPs now...I would look into a different one. Good customer service doesn't really cut it when the service you are selling never works correctly. read more

Both my husband and I work from home so quality internet service is paramount. We pay for the very highest priced monthly plan so we can get the fastest service available to us which is $167 per month. Today, we have a power outage and Nextlink tells us they cannot come out to fix the problem for 11 days. We are told it will be 11 days because of their current outages and new customer installations. An 11 day wait time for an established customer is absolutely unacceptable and horrible customer service. read more

I have had Nextlink since August 2019. I have the highest speed available in my area. However, numerous times, some as often as 2-3 time a week I have zero service for 15 minutes or more, and many other times I have zero service from 20 seconds to 3-4 minutes. The only reason I didn't give them a 1 rating was due to the fact that when it does work, I do get the speed. I think I signed up for that speed all the time. read more

Waited almost a month for installation, no biggie, I understood that when I ordered their service. Tech showed up on a Friday early, did the install, answered my questions and set up my router. That night, no service. Support said it was my (new) router. Saturday, I returned the router for another new one, connect it and set it up through them. Lost service, again, they say it was my (2nd new router). Spent 4 hours on the phone with the routers tech support as far as we could go. Three calls to nextlink three "it's your router" responses. Sunday, return the router and buy a third one (one they recommend). Got it set up through them again, list connection that night too late to call them. Monday, hit and miss service, call back and the guy starts to tell me it's my router and I cut him off with "BS, it's your end not my end. Tech on the phone finally sees and acknowledges the problem. Tell me it'll be several days before they can address it. Wrong answer for a brand new install for a brand new customer. Tuesday, 5th day, after having to deal with 10 people and three different venues of raising hell about it, I finally got them to send a tech who performed the 5 minute fix. Apparently the owner of nextlink made this finally happen. Customer service on the phone for tech support, sucks. But I'm new, so the jury is still out on system service and billing. read more

Only been a customer for exactly one month and I absolutely hate this company. Lousy service, daily internet disruptions & downtime, and ripoff pricing. Calling even a month ahead to set up internet before moving and they couldn't figure out how to get it turned on until after taking residence. Additionally, at no point did they ever mention that payment was due on the spot when techs (finally) installed their crappy product; I was suddenly, without warning, out over $200 dollars just to get their horrible service turned on. They blame the daily interruption on my router that I brought from my last residence - a high-end Netgear router that never had an issue with my former provider Comcast for nearly five years. I actually logged the number of times over three days when the internet would go out and they 'couldn't see the interruptions in their log' and told me to contact Netgear. I can't say enough negative things about their customer service, product, or the company as a whole - avoid them if at all possible! read more

Where to start. Our service time WAS from 1 pm - 5pm, and he showed at 6pm and left at 8:30 pm. Instead on installing the MikroTik where we asked, he installed it in the furthest room in the house, with a promise of it reaching "all throught the house". My wife specifically asked him it install the MikroTik in another room for this reason. We are paying for the 25 MB download with 5 MB upload, and in the room it was installed we are getting close to that. The next closest bedroom (using a tape measure, 12 feet away) gets an impressive 8 MB with every other internet using device shut off. Our kitchen (which is about the same distance) gets an impressive 5 MB while our furthest bedroom (approximately 50 feet) gets an amazing 2.42 and .24!!!!! Once anyone accesses Internet, the furthest bedroom drops to .833 and no upload speed available followed by a failed speed test. We've taken our old Century Link router and a nice long ethernet cable, stretched it though the house (not a happy wife does this option make), and now we can access the internet. Multiple calls with the customer service leaves paying them $70 more dollars on top of $200 plus dollars already paid. So much for rectifying their installers ineptitude. The MikroTik has settled down since instillation, our internet does not drop offline like it did the first week. Plus, the durations are much shorter. The longest duration was approximately 5 hours. On the positive side of NextLink, their service IS slightly better than Century Link's. **UPDATE August 10, 2016: As stated above, our initial impression was not great. However, NextLink as since rectified the initial installer's mistakes. Our second installer's name was Steven. He arrived within the scheduled time slot, and in 100 degree heat he worked tirelessly on the roof as well as in our attic. His goal was not only form but function, and he kept the aesthetics of our home with the addition of NextLink's equipment. The MikroTik itself was limited in function, however what was required was the time to find the correct channel to operate due to our home's electrical interference. Steven took his time, he did not cut corners merely to leave by 5 pm, and we can now receive the wifi signal throughout our house. By the time Steven left at 7 pm, our household had become fans of NextLink, their service, as well as their customer service. ***UPDATE 3/15/18 BACK TO TOTAL CRAP!!! First bandaid was to up our plan. More money being sucked away. MicroTik #3 doesn't work and NOBOBY can fix it! NextLink's bright idea is to get a second MicroTik to extend our WiFi range. That means we're now on #3 AND #4!!! Even MORE money being sucked away by these people. Yay! We can pick up our neighbor's WiFi from NextLink from 300 yards away, but not our own from 5 feet!!! We have been in a holding pattern from "Net Ops" to get the second one configured. 7+ days later and they still seem unable to configure the 2nd MicroTik. Here's a grand idea, send your technicians out here and fix your installment problems. Oh, and bring a functioning MicroTik. read more

Started off great, with good speeds. After less than a year, speeds were less than half what I was paying for receive and emails about the issue went unanswered. When I called, they said there was a network issue. That might explain the less than dial up speeds at the time, but not my overall problem. read more

After spending over $4000 to install a tower to use this internet service, and upgrading multiple times, the company was not providing me with what was in the contract. Over the course of four months they began to ignore me, and then finally decided to terminate my contract/service without my consent. After being ignored for over a month, I began calling weekly, and emailing weekly. One of the sales employees lied to me on multiple occasions and made promises that were never fulfilled. They know they are the only internet in the area and abuse their customers. If you call them out on it, they just cancel your service. If you make complaints, they lie. They spent more time telling me there were no problems, and it was on my end than they did actually talking to me. Their own Engineers told me that the sale team lied to me, and that there were obvious issues that would need to be addressed. The Engineers also told me exactly when they fixed things and what they did to fix them. The technicians were monitoring everything the entire time and sent me actual graphs depicting my issues. Not one of these departments ever talked to the other. I left many messages on their "supervisor" line and was ignored. I sent emails to be ignored, and if they were answered, they did not actually answer any of the questions or address any of the issues. They used aggressive Upsell tactics and then when I was stuck in a contract, asked for more. Not even a week after they told me to upgrade a technician and engineer told me on separate occasions that there were separate issues that they had to fix. Rather than own up to the issues and make good by their word. They would prefer to just dump customers that do not just hand want to blindly hand them money for a sub par intermittent service. Now, I am stuck without any internet service because they are the only service available where I live. So much for that 280 million dollars the government gave Nextlink to provide internet to the rural areas! read more

Extremely disappointed in coverage over the last few months. We have been customers for 1.5 years and use to never experience outages but as of lately it seems they occur weekly. Very frustrating when paying a premium price for internet service and we work from home... we must have reliable internet!! read more

In my many years of dealing with countless ISPs, Nextlink has to be the absolute worst...EVER. Their internet is always inconsistent on speed delivery and I am on the phone weekly to try and diagnose the issue which usually ends up being a 45 min phone call every time. I also live in close proximity to their office. "Lets check your speed sir." " I'm getting 250mbps download and 64 up hard wired, that's not the 300 I'm paying you a lot of money for. "Well sir, 250mbps is considered acceptable". "Really I said...please show me that in the contract." "I cant find any paperwork that deals with acceptable levels says the customer service rep". Bottom line is, you do not get what you pay for and Nextlink never actually tries to come out and test levels to correct the issue. This is fiber, its a go or no-go circuit. Don't waste your time with this monopoly. Terrible service and unacceptable speeds. read more

Service is very consistent for us. Service seems to be affected by line of sight to the towers. We have not had any problems but some in our neighborhood have. Customer service is great, they've called to tell us ahead of time there will be an outage. read more

Switched from at&t to nextlink about 5 months ago. For the first few months it was good. The speeds stayed around 15 mbps which is what my plan is. It started dropping to around 5 mbps and staying there most of the time. I have been calling about this and they keep telling me that with my plan it can be that low. It's normal is what they say. When I called to get set up on there internet they said if it ever drops below 12mbps to call them cause there is a problem. When I do call they are really no help. They will run tests but in the end they say it's normal. I just want to get what I am paying 65 dollars a month for. I will be switching back to at&t. At least I will only be paying 20 dollars for 6 mbps instead of 65 dollars. read more

The internet speeds or horrible and customer services tries hard. They need to learn to stop involving the owner in issues because he is an idiot and his only fix for bad Services is just go to risebroad band. Lawsuit is on its way. Stay away, far away. read more

Service was good at first then declined some after a while. Growing service so I understood that but it did work and the crews who came out were professional. What makes me give this review is how the business side was handled. My wife and I decided to cut down on some spending for a few months and this service was one of the things we were going to stop. We had finished our contract and scheduled for the equipment to be returned. The man came and picked up equipment and the office said everything was filed to end the service. Sure it was! Few days later we notice that Nextlink has charged our account for services that we canceled correctly and in plenty of time. We give them a call and the lady says that the info was not entered in the computer correctly and she would correct it. Sure. Now going on several days later, and with this Monday being a holiday, I still have yet to see my money returned. If this is how a company does business then they will not get my business any more. Especially when it is something as simple as a cancellation. Sorry Nextlink, I was a fan up until this. read more

I work from home. I need internet in order to earn my paycheck. I called and made an appointment with Nextlink to install internet service as my previous service was unreliable and dropping connection every two minutes so I cancelled their service. Nextlink install were to come out on 5/13/16 between 1 - 5pm. At 7:43am I was left a voicemail that the installer could not come out today and they would need to reschedule for next 5/18/16. Please give them a call if this doesn't work for me. I call, because this doesn't work for me. Since I work from home and have to have internet to do that I went to a neighbor's house to work for the day and my husband took off work to be there for the install person. SO.... Obviously this doesn't work for me. Now one of us must miss ANOTHER day off work to wait on the installer again. Remember those jokes about the cable company... I guess they are not jokes and Nextlink has a long way to come in order to meet customer satisfaction in my book. I mean you didn't know until the same day that you wouldn't make it???? SURE NEXTLINK I will just sit here and wait on you for the next 5 days because I obviously don't have anything else to do. If you want to sit around and wait on someone that may or may not come because you have nothing better to do, then maybe Nextlink is the ISP for you. However, if you actually use the internet you may want to look for another ISP. read more

We have been with them less than a month and have had several issues. They might have faster Internet than others but the quality sucks. Just cancelled my service with them after 3 years. First 6 months was fast, amazing service. No problems, 6 months later down hill quick. Then we would complain and it would be fast again another few months. The couple years continuing it was awful, slow service, outages and continued explanations about why. We really had no other alternate choices. Now that ATT is available with U-verse we have gotten them. Nextlink removed the tower from the house they installed for "Best service" as they tell you and come to find out they install a big chunky tripod that they leave up there because if they remove it there will be holes left in your roof which I was told would leak if it rains!!! So therefore he said the only way of fixing that is sawing it off ourselves... Not recommended at all for service! read more

When my wife and I 1st signed up with Nextlink they were great there customer service was great and so was tech support. over the years we have been with them everything has gone down hill. We pay for 15 mbs download and 2.5 up for the last few weeks we were getting under 6 download and .30 upload. Not counting the number of times I had to unplug my router and wait then plug it back in and wait again, doing this for the past 2 weeks. My wife and I was told we would get a credit on our bill for no less than a half of month. Our bill is around $65. 00 - $68.00. We received our bill today and it was for $62.83. They only gave us a $10 credit for all our problems. WTF. When we contacted them they said we were getting only the $10 credit because we still had service even though it was slow. I will be looking for a new provider this coming next week. You only get slow speeds but are expected to pay for what you don't get . read more

I have had this service for less than 6 months. I signed up for the Ultralink15 package. I have contacted customer service nearly every month. Sometimes multiple times in one day or week. The service when working works very well. I was told the 15mb max plan should be plenty do what I explained I wanted my internet to do. Not true, since I never get 15mb of service. At most 12mb and that's being generous. Mainly drops to 7mb during peak times and weekends. Service support told me if I wanted better service to move to the next plan. I was very disappointed with that answer but gave is considerable thought and called to upgrade to the next plan. I was told that the 15mb plan is the top plan for my area and to disconnect I would have to pay a $480.00 fee for disconnecting prior to 1yr. Thumbs Down Nextlink. Once I find a suitable replacement for this company. I will disconnect. But being in a somewhat rural area, its taking awhile to find the replacement. read more
