"Salmon" Sinigang
Hannah K.

Went seeking a restaurant that my mom would love for her birthday that I would also be able to eat at being a vegan and all. They have one vegan main dish on the menu and it is honestly not normally something I would have gone for but it truly knocked my socks off. The "salmon" has the texture of actual salmon it really throws one for a loop when you aren't expecting it. My non-vegan wife even wanted to give it a try it was so convincing! The restaurant is absolutely stunning inside and incredibly large. Very roomy and can accommodate large parties if needed. The staff are very helpful and when I informed them it was my mom's birthday they even brought her out a piece of cake with a sparkler. They are very sweet and helpful, very willing to go above and beyond. Well worth the stop in.

Set in a beautiful location Nextdoor offers top of the line friendly service and some very interesting culinary options

Brunch tower

Their brunch towers are pretty good even though the prices have gone up. Their pancake flavors are different everyday and the waiter will let you what their flavor of the day is before you place your order. We had here for dinner as well and had their Thursday special. $50 for one main, appetizer and dessert. I would recommend getting the lamb saddle, the sauce that came with it was amazing. I also really enjoyed the pork wonton nachos They have two different dining areas with lots of seats. They also do events and thing like that as well! They have different daily specials everyday so definitely worth checking out!

I don't recall coming here before; it's been so long. Finally able to dine out and enjoying an alcoholic beverage after a year on the patio. I have to say, the choices on the menu don't appeal to me as much, but I did enjoy the burger and truffle fries. While my friend had the Okonomiyaki Cheeseburger, which did look delicious. The service was great; they are very attentive. For an outside patio, it isn't as loud, and you can enjoy the breeze while chatting with your friends.

I came here for brunch. It was really busy the entire restaurant was filled. Service was good, they constantly filled my coffee and water. The food took a bit of time, likely because it was really busy. This place is in historic unionville. The place was modern/contemporary decorated. This place is definitely a go to fill your belly.

One of the better restaurants in Markham !! The food was really good and the staff made our stay enjoyable!

Love the brunch tower idea so much! It's more than enough food for two people! The bacon was a bit harder to bite, but the Malaysian style eggs were delicious. The ube pancakes were the special for this day and they were perfectly fluffy. Food and drinks came out in a timely manner, our server was awesome as well. Much larger restaurant I expected with a high table area and a low seating area.

Came here for brunch on Saturday morning with a friend. There were no spots available for reservation through their website but they thankfully had spots available for walk-in! The Parking lot there is quite full most of the time so be prepared to park a little bit further. We ordered their brunch tower for two ($58) and loved that there was lots of variety for sweet and savoury. I loved that there was uniqueness and plenty of food compared to other brunch spots in the area. We even had some leftovers to take home because we were so stuffed after. The outside patio was nice for the summer as you get to take in the quaint unionville main street vibes and the nice weather. The staff were awesome, and helpful as well. Would be back again

Came here for brunch on a Sunday morning with no reservation, had to wait for a bit for a table. Great ambiance, loved the food and drinks, matcha latte wasn't overly sweet so that was good, the foods were filling and satisfying. Great service despite it being a busy place!

Another fun brunch place uptown just off Main Street Unionville. It's easy to make a reservation here and the menu is whimsical and fun, so this is a go to spot we're trying to make a brunch date. Portion sizes are also pretty generous.

Spaghetti bolognese, includes two pieces of fried chicken

Always clean, friendly, and easy music (throwback R&B, pop) Came here on a snowy weekday night with my husband and there was only one other table filled - felt like we booked the whole place to ourselves! The special for Tuesday was $12 shareables and half price oysters (raspberry point). We were given menus and waters as soon as we were seated, and within 5min we had someone check in to see if we had questions. We ordered the community burger and spaghetti bolognese, and a starter of the pork sisig bombs. Food arrived hot within 15-20min (when I've come here for brunch before, it can take 15-25min) and we both loved everything. The spaghetti bolognese has two pieces of impressive fried chicken that come with it, the batter is amazing and crunchy. I think the brunch chicken and waffles uses the same, and we've always been a fan of it. Pork sisig had a good balance of flavours and a mix of fat that just melts in the mouth, this was my favourite part of the order. My husband devoured the burger and reports it was great, with a side of fries. Water was refilled as needed and we paid by card with no issue. We will be back again for brunch and dinner in the future!

First time dining at this place and went well! Food- We got the soft shell crab and the steak. The soft shell crab came with mussels and shrimp. Cooked well and the flavors blended in perfectly. We got medium for the steak and usually the steak would turn out dry. But they managed to still make it juicy. Service - Very attentive and fast. Interior- Very cozy. Great place for a cozy date spot or dinner with your friends! As for the drinks. I love my drink strong and not watered down so if you're into hard drinks, then this place is for you!

Crying tiger steak bowl. Phenomenal.
Heena M.

Went for dinner here and got the crying steal bowl. It did not disappoint. Flavorful, subtle, unique and visually appealing. I've also been here for brunch and I'm never disappointed. I love the modern decor and interior and big fan of the patio in the summer. Everyone serving is kind and helpful. One of my favorite places to eat.

Paella anyone? I bet you haven't heard that in a while. And…read morehonestly, who knew it was such a Portuguese thing too? We all know Spain made it famous, but Portugal? INSANE. Back to why I do this. I'm endlessly curious about food, people, and the magic that happens when great meals meet good music. Friendships just seem to evolve naturally around a table. And thank you, E, for another incredible photo -- your choices are always perfect. Mercado on St. Clair is a hidden gem. What was once beside my mom's flower shop downtown has now found a home in a slightly more industrial setting on Caledonia -- and somehow, it works perfectly. Cozy seating inside, a great covered patio outside, and that village-style European restaurant vibe you hope to stumble across. First off, the waiter was phenomenal. He walked us through the menu, explained everything perfectly, and genuinely elevated the whole experience. The menu is massive -- meat, seafood, everything you could want -- but we came for the paella. We were told it takes time because they make it the proper way. Not overly crispy, just authentic, rich, and layered with flavour. Worth every minute of the wait. To start, we had the gambas / shrimp in a rich red garlic and herb sauce plus extra toasted bread for dipping, per our waiter's recommendation. Absolute rockstar move. The other appetizer was a delicious beef stew served over crunchy rustic bread. Simple, hearty, and top notch. Now... drum roll please. This may have been the best paella I've ever had. Okay okay, maybe somewhere along the coast in Spain I've had one fresher... but this was absolutely off the charts. Zero fishy smell. Just beautiful saffron-infused rice with that perfect slight crisp, loaded with mussels, clams, octopus, calamari, shrimp, and more. Built for two people to share and completely unforgettable. A few glasses of house white later and bam - there was absolutely no chance I was going back to work. And dessert? I kept telling myself: "No dessert, Frank. No dessert." But there's a rule in life ; if you see crème brûlée on a menu, you order it. This wasn't exactly crème brûlée, but a cheesecake-inspired version of it. Two spoons, four bites, and thank you very much. Favourite meal of the year so far. Completely blown away by this place. Mercatto -- go now. Go fast.

The food had some tasty components and interesting combinations, but when comparing directly to Sara, I think Sara still wins for me. A couple plates here landed slightly salty for my taste. But if you want to see how the kitchen works and drool over dishes comes out, this is the perfect spot. The service was ok. We did the classic tasting menu with wine pairing and our wine pairings kept coming later and later, which was also disappointing. I also got their award winning cocktail, down by the bay. It was fantastic! But the food was great. As part of the classic tasting menu you get 6 savory dishes and a dessert (to share). They start you off with an amuse bouche of bread with tomato cream. I could eat a whole basket of those. The courses are broken up into 3 pairs, so for the first we got the chopped salad and spicy ceviche. These are two of their best dishes and I wouldn't miss getting them. For the next course we got the chickpea fritters and country style ribs. These dishes were ok. The chickpea fritter was good but the ribs were overcooked, dry, and didn't have the greatest flavor. It would've been more flavorful with a good glaze. I would skip these dishes next time. And for the third course we got the rasa burger and truffle gnudi. The burger was good, but it was just a burger. The gnudi would be something I get again. For the final course we got the sticky bun. These bun was a very dry at the bottom, but otherwise good. I might try the ice cream sandwich next time. Cause it looked amazing too. Overall, great experience and a place I'd come back to. I'm glad I did the tasting menu, but if you're coming with a larger group, just order the whole dishes a la carte.

Both are non-negotiable and always hit. We still like to switch it up sometimes, and this visit we tried a few different dishes: * Kataifi-Wrapped prawn tempura: crunchy, and the wasabi mayo was my favorite part. * Nagasaki Champon with ramen: cozy and comforting. * Grilled Squid with butter: simple and done right * Beef Brisket Yaki Soba: savory and satisfying, with bonito flakes doing their little dance on top. * Karaage: coming from someone who doesn't love greasy food, this one was not greasy at all and still juicy inside. Lowkey missing their grilled beef intestine though Great highball selection as well. We got the peach highball for the one who likes sweet, and the yuzu highball for the one who likes sour. I went with the Snow beer Sapporo, topped with shaved frozen beer. Such a nice way to keep the beer cold without diluting it. Service here has always been amazing, whether they're busy or not, and that's a big reason why I keep coming back.

Out of the dishes we ordered, my favourite would be: grill pork belly, taro chips, yaki soba, and the fried shrimp prawn. If you want some chewy squid, then you could order the squid. The sauce tasted good but I could imagine cooking it to its perfection is hard, especially when the izakaya was actually pretty full due to the beer happy hour! The other issue would be finding a parking space. Otherwise, I would love to come back again.
