I was very frustrated as the trailer had to be driven back to Detroit on Sunday. I called College Hunks at 7pm on a Saturday night and miracously they were able to help. Two nice men showed up at 8:45 (15 minutes early!) on a Sunday morning. They were efficient, polite and turned my previous terrible experience around. I try to use local businesses whenever I can but I highly recommend this national franchise! #thankscollegehunks

    Systematic Billing Fraud, Tax Evasion, and Deceptive Corporate Practices…read more I am formally escalating a consumer fraud dispute against College HUNKS regarding a finalized $5,500 refund that is now two weeks overdue. This business engaged in deceptive, predatory, and illegal operational practices from start to finish. The company completely bypassed their advertised protocols by failing to provide formal estimates or allowing us to approve pricing, leading to exorbitant charges wildly exceeding their standard website rates. Upon completion, they refused to issue official receipts or legitimate paperwork, explicitly lying and stating receipts would "take several days," which never arrived. Most alarmingly, management directed us to pay an employee directly through a personal Zelle account, falsely claiming this was official company procedure. The service itself was a complete failure. Hired on Friday for an urgent removal and basic cleaning project under a strict Monday morning deadline, outside of the first day, the crew worked roughly one hour per day, abandoned the job unfinished, and explicitly lied by stating the job was complete. They fabricated truckload volume logs to inflate our bill, claiming they removed items that were actually left behind. In the end, we had to perform the "heavy lifting" to remove the remaining items ourselves, and my girlfriend had to execute the cleaning work the crew completely skipped and ultimately were unable to do because they DID NOT HAVE THEIR OWN BROOMS AND DUST PANS! When confronted with this absolute breach, management approved a corrective $5,500 refund which was signed and dated by both a member of their team and myself as well as stating it would be paid by 5 pm on 6/11/26. As of writing this review it is now 6/23/26. Since then, local operations and corporate management (StressFreeService@chhj.com) have completely ignored our formal demands for payment. Instead, a representative has resorted to back-channel stall tactics, calling our real estate agent to play dumb pretending he no longer knows how to contact us after personally sending a hundred or more texts and calling us dozens of times from him personal cellphone. Now he is deceptively attempting to settle this binding debt for an unauthorized $2,500. We demand the immediate return of our full $5,500.

    Absolutely Terrible Experience - Shockingly Different From Last Year…read more I used this company a year ago and had a great experience, which is the only reason I decided to book with them again. Unfortunately, this move was the complete opposite. The movers showed up smelly and unprofessional, and they argued with each other the entire time they were in my home. It was uncomfortable to watch, and on top of that, they were clearly milking the clock rather than working efficiently. When my furniture arrived, several pieces were damaged--including an $800 dresser with two legs broken off, leaving it unable to stand. Three lamp shades never made it into my home during unloading, and the company initially denied they were ever part of the move. For a whole week, they ignored my calls and messages about reimbursement, after saying they would get back to me in 24 hours. They only responded once my father got involved, and even then, their offer was insulting: $70 for the three missing lamp shades and $0 for the ruined dresser. I'm extremely disappointed in how drastically their service quality declined. This company is now unprofessional, careless, and unwilling to take responsibility. I regret booking with them again, and I strongly suggest choosing a different moving company if you want your belongings--and peace of mind--protected.
