The DaVinci exhibition is a very curious art installation. The whole experience is only three rooms. The first of which is a collection of models. The models all show machines that DaVinci either created or just used in his processes for creation. None of them claiming to be authentic or anything like that. Along with a very pretty geometric wall in the background. In the same room you have a slightly off-putting hologram of DaVinci who is narrating his life and his works. You move on to the next room. And you do have some authentic pieces of art, however, none of them were painted by DaVinci. They are all pieces of artwork from people who supposedly were trained by DaVinci. And don't get me wrong. They're beautiful pieces of art. They're very nice. But none of them are actually painted by the man himself.
After the second room you go in to the final room. Which has the crown piece of the exhibition, a portrait of DaVinci himself. No, most of us have seen a version of this portrait. And it's nice to actually see the original. However, the artist for this work is unknown.
My overall feeling for this exhibition is that, there is a distinct lack of contribution to this collection from DaVinci himself. It's great and educational. But if I had purchased a ticket thinking I was going to see some of DaVinci's works I would be a little let down. If you're a die hard DaVinci fan or want to learn more about him, you'll have a great time. But just know you're not going to see any artwork directly from him himself. read more
