o1.o7.2o23 This year is almost back to how it used to be. It was super crowded as expected. I'd say 99.99% of the people didn't wear a mask. We still did just because we have little one at home and it's also flu season. We got a free snack for the first time at CES at Hisense. There was a nice little few minutes ride at SK. They had this card to collect stamps and that we just needed 3 stamps to play arcade game, but if we collect all the stamps, we'll get a big prize. However, that was a lie, SK! We collected all the stamps but no big prize whatsoever, same as everyone else who only collected 3 stamps and without learning anything. Ppl just go up to the staff and ask for a stamp. Anyway, it was a nice walk... walked too much... my back and feet hurts. It must be my age. :(

Wow! We had an amazing time ! It was my first time attending CES this year. Bunch of interesting technologies, lots of new ideas and inspiration ! My favorite part was definitely BMW Dee presented by Arnold Schwarzenegger Still can't believe that I saw him so close! There is was a robot that draw me other day... I hope that picture gonna make you laugh so bad :D If you have a chance to attend it, I would definitely recommend it !

2022 CES Review. Has to be by far the worst show they ever had, can understand its covid and all but was really disappointed. They changed the days last minute and they didn't have nearly as close to the usual vendors. Check in was a joke while I was waiting to get my badge cause the system had a glitch and waited about 30 minutes for them to figure it out. Booths were empty all over, displayed technology wasn't what it used to be, and some of the major companies didn't display as large of a booth as they used to. Overall very disappointed and hope they step it up next year.

5 stars simply for the experience that you can't get anywhere else. I've been lusting after this tradeshow for years and for the past two years living here I've gotten the opportunity to go. I can only swing one day each year, which isn't nearly enough time to see everything. Think of it like Disney World. No way you can see the whole thing in a day. But if you can swing it, especially if you live here, it's worth going to even if all you can get is one day. There are some of the most impressive booths you'll ever see at a trade show and the whole thing just goes on and on. Remember it's not just in the Convention Center, but in Sands and Aria too. I recommend taking the monorail and parking at a hotel that services the monorail. It's the easiest way - I think - to getting to the event without having to rely on shuttles. Don't forget locals get $1 one-way tickets. Don't expect much in terms of swag. Sure you'll get some bags, pens, and the usual mini-items, but don't expect full expensive gifts. Unless of course you have a business need for it, then the suppliers will want to talk to you and hook you up with free stuff. But that's not me :( .. Still, there's lots of little goodies to be had here, and usually some fun photo ops.

I've been covering CES as a member of the press for 10 years. Always an amazing show. Incredible displays from the biggest tech companies. LG always ups its game with a variety of video "walls"--From domes, to tunnels, to canyons of curved video screens. Intel, Samsung, Mercedes and so many others impress. Sadly, there is no way to see it all: 2 million square feet of displays at the enormous conference center, the Wynn, the Sands, the Venetian, the C-Space events, not to mention the displays at unofficial venues. Be prepared for sensory overload!

Another great CES 2018 week just ended! What better place to check out all the new and upcoming technology and innovations in all the major sectors! Only got to spend time at the North, Central, and South halls at LVCC and it was sensory overload. This year's CES was all about 5G, smart cities, AI, IoT, AR, and VR. There were more than 3,900 exhibitors this year taking up more than 2.75 million net square feet of exhibit space across Las Vegas, making it the largest show floor in CES's 51 year history! #CES2019: Jan 8-11 2019.... I can't wait!!

Best year for me to date! Lots of relevant tech for sure but the great thing was logistics. They were superb. Helpful bus trafficking for routes queues and such were great. Everyone very friendly too! Some excellent panels I attended that were as great as the floor tours!

You don't have to be a geek to enjoy your time at CES, you just have to love gadgets. This year (2017), marks the 50th celebration of CES. I was told more than 170,000 from all over the world came. Exhibitors showcased their latest and greatest innovation. If you've never been to CES, I recommend you come at least once. You will be amazed. You will see all the latest innovation including robots (artificial intelligence) that will make our lives that much easier. I'd also like to give a round of applause for the awesome people involved behind the scenes for making this year's experience at CES seamless. Special thanks to the Las Vegas Convention Center staff and especially to our very own "Rosie" for her exemplary job for taking such great care of us all week. Huge applause to UBER drivers for their hard work. Thank you coach bus drivers for picking our entire huge team, and dropping us all back with great comfort and style. With that said.... I can't help but think how far we've arrived with technology. With the invention of the Internet, most of us today are now connected globally. Speaking off, do you remember the days when touch screen was the next big thing? It was a big hit. Now, it's all about voice recognition. Hard to imagine we even have cars that can now drive us to the grocery store. So then one has to ask, "Have we become a lazier society?" Have we become less personable and more impatient as we emerge from our younger years glued to some sort of personal devices like computers, tablets or smartphones? Has technology fostered a culture of instant gratification such as "I want it now?" That may depend on who you ask. But one thing for sure, as we evolve in the ever changing technological world, humans have always been adaptable and maleable; more so than we care to think! So on the final thoughts (pondering scratching chin...), I believe technology can assist us to become a more respectful society. A much more happier and healthier society because we will have all the analytics to guide us to make consciences choices. Artifical Intelligence will simplify our lives so that we can spend more quality time with our friends and family. Ultimately, that is the goal. But I can't help but think, are we eventually going to loose what makes us uniquely human in the process of automation? What are your thoughts? Cheers!

Check new technologies at CES 2020. Not much difference from last year but its really fun to be here. You can see New electric cars, appliances, drones and many other things

The much ballyhooed convention is ok. Yeah you get to see the latest releases of electronics, which means that it's probably outdated stuff because there's already stuff on the corporate pipelines that will blow what they're showing the public away. Some cool stuff, not worth more than a day's time for the average consumer, a must, I guess, for retailer and wholesalers. I was fortunate enough to get complimentary passes, which is the only way to go for the tech layman, not worth paying to gain entry otherwise.

2012 CES - Consumer Electronics Show Flew here and experienced the exhibit on the company dime, woohoo! Pros - Large exhibits from the large electronic companies that showcase their new and upcoming gadgets that numerous tech news publishers stalk/cover endlessly. - Most of the electronics reps will thoroughly explain the specs, although your geek questions may oust some of their knowledge, they still try their absolute best w/out sounding sales pitchy - Free sh-wag - Some exhibits even go out and display their own hot models, live spinning DJs, and/or open bar - Some celebrity sightings from time to time to endorse a product or company: (Example: Snooki and Dennis Rodman) Cons - Expect to stand around the Convention Center after the exhibit for a while, traffic + a huge rush to get home with buses and taxis - Less swag than last year (so I hear) Tip: It doesn't matter if you're going for a business meeting, wear comfortable shoes or you will die.. yes, DIE. It's definitely an expo you need to experience if you are into tech gadgets! Also, if you now perceive me as a nerd, I am not.

This was my fifth Consumer Electronics Show in a row.....the WOW factor is gone.....but it is still a rating of 4 Yelp Stars specifically for the 2012 CES Show. The Consumer Electronics Show version 2012 was mostly about the next NEXT next NEXT generation 3D TV, OLED television, Ultra-Notebooks, and everything next generation cameras, smartphones, and iPad look alike tablets. As compared to many year's past, the 2012 version of CES was not a disappointment, but definitely not a bore for me personally this time around. Some interesting technology that is definitely not ready for prime-time is glasses-free 3D televisions. It was we were able to preview at 2011's CES, but this technology still needs to be developed. Maybe I am more savvy at it, but Social Networking has definitely grown leaps and bounds from previous years! More advertising and participation in Twitter, Foursquare, Facebook, and Klout FUN for all that participate. There were prizes from participating vendors like Blackberry, Sharp, CNET, Monster Sound, SD Consortium, etc. I walked away with a lot of swag! =) One FUN thing of note is that I tweeted about the CES Sharp booth and it was extremely NEATO MOSQUITO to see my tweet up on the Sharp Social Networking Jumbotron...I wish I had my camera out to take a picture of it, but it was definitely a HIGHLIGHT! One thing of note.....Microsoft will not be at next year's show. Will other vendors follow along with them.....it will have to wait till 2013 to see. As compared to previous years, the cellular connection for all providers was BAD, but this year was surprising okay. I am high bandwidth user, but there was no major complaints about the internet connection from any cell provider that I could find from other smartphone users I chatted with. As I stated on my previous reviews, I have no $$$$$ to purchase any of the new and fun and upcoming consumer technology, but it will always be fun to dream!

I still am not sure how they decide which Saturday they are going to do this event. I've been the day after First Friday and I've been in the middle of the month. Part of the reason this gets 5 stars from me is that I live at The Ogden, so I literally walk down stairs from my place and BAM! Food Truck heaven. plus I like the addition of the local vendors selling their hand crafted wares. I'm not gonna buy most of it because its just not my style, but I'm all about small local vendors getting their shot. There's always a few regulars and a few change-ups each month. You can almost always count on Slidin Thru and Grouchy John's but the rest vary from month to month. And it's always a good mix of people in attendance. It's an all ages event so it usually draws that same crowd you see at First Friday, & it's FREE to get in so if you are in the area there is definitely no good reason to not check it out. My one main complaint is that there's around 4 or 5 tables total for the event. Therefore, there is always that awkward time after buying the food of walking around trying to find some place to post up and eat. For an event with as many attendees as this tends to get, and as much extra room as they have in the parking lot, whoever is in charge needs to get on this. It's a tiny little omission that would make a huge difference in the quality of the event.

My son and I got up early, parked at the hospital, ran some miles in the neighborhood and got back in time to watch the balloons start to launch around 7:15am. At first I thought there would only be 3 or 4 because there weren't that many getting set up, but then it turned out to be at least 9 or 10. There were also three balloons in the sky that launched from another location. So, it's not a huge festival, but it's free and definitely a cool thing to see up close. I'm glad that we got to go and we even ran into Teri C. and her family there. A perfect way to start a beautiful October morning in Las Vegas. You should definitely go next year; we will be back. Up, up, and away!

My mom even crewed for several of the balloon teams through out the years growing up. They took off from our backyard where we got to help with all of it, "earning" our rides. Thank you to Yelp for bringing this event to my attention! I couldn't get up for the launches, dang it I like sleeping but we did make it down for the Glow on Saturday night. I was so excited to show the BF a piece of my childhood! It was an awesome to reminisce and though this was a far stretch of what the Balloon Classic is, only five balloons at the Glow tonight, it is enough to satisfy an old memory. The Glow is where the hot air balloons inflate and tether, stay to the ground, and hit their propane fueled guns to light up the balloons. They do waves and random light ups and popcorn, where they do short bursts. It's a cool thing to see and a great picture shots! Now imagine more of them! That's how the Balloon Classic is. I think now I'll try to make my way to Albuquerque next year to experience it! Thanks again Yelp! Another reason you're fantastic!

I HIGHLY SUGGEST going general admission for this one. Also as a side note don't purchase your tickets in advance like I did. It is better to pay a few dollars more and decide you don't want to walk around a festival in 100F heat. I went VIP and now am sorry I did. First of all this is the most unorganized food festival that I have ever been too. We had to stand in line to get wrist bands. Then as soon as we got wrist band we had to stand in another line to wait to get in. Then we had to stand in yet ANOTHER line to get our VIP food tickets. Also on the way to stand in the Food Ticket line there were countless trip hazards. (the most I have ever seen anywhere!) THE PROBLEM WITH VIP IS THAT IT LIMITS YOU TO ONLY CERTAIN VENDERS. YOU ALSO NEED A CELL PHONE to bring up a map of the event and it also lets you know what VIP Venders that you can try. You also need to GRAB A SEAT FAST because covered seating is very limited and fills up FAST. Then I hope you are OK with LOUD Music. The music they play is uncomfortably LOUD. Another problem with VIP is that YOU DON'T GET YOUR MONEYS WORTH. After three plates I was full and didn't want anymore food. We just wanted to leave. That said and ANYWAYS - The food I tried was good. I wish plates were smaller so I could have stomach room to try more things. I think what I enjoyed most was that my husband figured out the locations of certain food trucks and brought back the foods to our seats. I also enjoyed watching a young man (like 15 or 16 years old) air drumming and be-bopping to an extended version of Rod Steward's Do You Think I'm Sexy. I wonder if he knew that was a fifty year old song? Then Abba's Dancing Queen filled the air and he went cold. That was entertaining. Got lucky and had a close parking spot. Good Luck!

You are relegated to a spectator even if you know you're true parade material, and this is why I love the Halloween Parade! All you need is a costume, and you too can be IN the parade. You can even win a prize in one of the multiple costume categories. The parade attracts all types from Burning Man veterans to curious tourists to sweet transvestites to families... yes, all types are welcome and all types march proudly! If you're an overachiever, you can create an art car or a float, but it's not necessary. (Although that is on my bucket list: to have an art car or float in the Halloween Parade!) Of course, if you prefer spectating, that's an option too. There is plenty to look at. This year one of my favorites was an illuminated fishing boat and hooked fish. The fish was built around a scooter, and the scooter was pulling a little trailer with a boat. Ingenious cuteness at its best! Every year on Halloween it happens whether it's a Monday or a Saturday, so you never have an excuse to stay at home or be without a costume! It's true local flavor at its best.

There were a lot of fire breathing art cars on display after the parade, and at the end of one area the Dancetronauts had a stage and a large crowd. Their stage was pretty sweet, with smoke ring blower, lazers, lights and gogo dancers. The other larger art cars had their own dj and sound system too, so music everywhere you went. All the bars around the area were packed, and most people were in costumes. Very fun night that can me completely FREE if you so chose to. There are food trucks and stands around that you can get food at if you're hungry, and they even had bars set up around the area and most I saw had little to no line. The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars was bc the final party area could be a little larger. Hopefully next year will be even bigger.
