In addition to the clever name, the event itself is a really great one. It has parking, thank goodness. Convenient location. No cover, plenty of options, entertainment. Truly something for everyone. Perfect for groups who cannot decide where to eat that will satisfy everyone. It really is an easy event that's worthwhile.

Pursuing Saturday evening (around 5pm) at our first visit to Sunset Park'd (food truck and carnival fest). Didn't realize it's been am annual thing for a few years now. There were over 40 food truck vendors listed, but we were lucky if we spotted 20. Maybe it's best to come earlier and they run out of food fast--? The best of the bunch we tasted were Izzy's Pizza (Detroit style, the owner makes his own sausage topping), and Can't Dutch This Fries (with the mild Curry ketchup - Nomnom)! The carnival rides are $4 each ride, and the food prices range $5-10. Most vendors have square for credit card transactions, but cash is still king.

We attended this event today for the first time ( Nov 3rd, 2018). It only occurs on one Saturday and is the fifth year they are presenting this event in Sunset Park. Admission and parking are free. We went there an hour after they started which was 12pm. There was a lot of handicapped parking ( people were complaining about it too) and we ended up parking on the farthest lot, so get there early. I was happy to see there was no line to get in or the park roped off. Just walk in and buy. There was a stage with music playing. There were rides for kiddos and vendor area. There was a Vegan section. The festival was not cramped and trucks were spread out which I liked. Here are some of the Food Truck Participants: 50 Shades Of Green  Badass Coffee Of Hawaii Blitz Boba Blondies Bacon Creations  Braud's Funnel Cake Café Can't Dutch This Fusion Beastro  Hot Diggety Dog  I Luv Cotton Candy My bf and I tried the Ribbon fries fully loaded ($15 I think) from ' Smoke'n Sam BBQ and it was really crunchy and so good. Also tried Termas Chickpeas and Karkadeh ( refreshing hibiscus extract drink) from POTs Egyptian food truck. They were interesting. What caught my eye was the food truck called 'Meats gone wild' and from their exotic menu we got Python w/ rabbit & jalapeno sausage $10 and Alligator sausage $10. I had a bite of those which had an interesting taste and not my cup of tea. I didn't see the Sangria festival which was around $28 ticket which was happening simultaneously. All in all, I really enjoyed this beautiful day!

They say that the third time's the charm. This might be the case for Sunset Park'd. Although I'd actually gone to this half-year's Great American Foodie Fest, I was eager to try several local food trucks at what might be referred to as the 3rd Annual Sunset Park'd event. Boasting a total of 33 food trucks this year, and with noticeably more attendees, this event has something for almost everyone. There are games scattered around the festival grounds, as well as a kids' area with slides, rock climbing, and bubbles on water. There are also a few maps located on huge sandwich boards, which is a new thing and a nice touch for those who don't feel like walking around the relatively small venue. My biggest complaint last year was about their web site (sunsetparkd.com) and other online presence. They improved this year by reliably posting all of the trucks on the Food Trucks web page this year. They also provided comprehensive info on non-food vendors, entertainment (including music, dancers, and the kids' activities), some sort of VIP section w/ alcohol tasting (didn't bother looking into this but it was $10, whereas the event itself is still free). The web site also had details about something they're piloting this year called "Tasting Dishes." Only eight food trucks bought into this idea, and they only provided very simple if inexpensive food items. I don't really see the point unless you're bringing kids or flying solo at the event. You might as well split the food trucks' menu items with your friends/family. I'll stick to individual business places for detailed reviews, but most of the food trucks that I tried this year were awesome. I was a huge fan of Utah-based Waffle Love at the other food truck gathering, and their inclusion raised my probability of going from 90% to 100%. Their St. George truck again represented the waffle empire proudly in my book, and it's a feather in Sunset Park'd's cap to have this out-of-state food truck around. As for other businesses, Truck U BBQ had an awesome burnt ends "burrito," Stripchezze brought it with their bacon jam in the Jam On It sandwich, and The Cookie Bar had some awesome baked treats, some involving alcohol. I was underwhelmed by Rolling Fusion, but that's only one miss out of my busy afternoon. I'm again very happy that Sunset Park'd has brought together local food trucks in a free admission setting. Aside from this year's questionable placement of tables/seats only at the far ends of the event area (nothing but grass and sand in the middle), I can only think of a better social media presence as an area of improvement for next year. And I do expect to see them once again next year.

This is the fourth year now that I have been coming to Sunset Park'd. I love the concept and that it's held at Sunset Park, which holds a lot of memories for me. It's an awesome way to sample local food trucks and vendors. This year specifically, I had a strawberry Dole whip shake ($9), a honey corndog ($6), and a smores waffle ($11.75). Nothing was spectacular except for the corndog, which was a lot of food for what we paid compared to what other trucks were charging. The service was lacking at all the trucks and stands that we visited. It's small compared to other events like Great American Foodie Fest. Every year, most of the vendors present have been the same, but there have been a few new faces here and there. There's also a Vegan Village, which is something I haven't seen done at other events yet. There's so admission fee and it's a good way to spend a day at the park, so I'll keep checking it out as long as it's around.

What a beautiful day! No matter where you went today, if you were outside it was just a great day. Add in live music, food trucks, beer and other cocktails, and lots of people, children, dogs and a nice park and you have a winner! I got down here around 1:30 pm, in time for lunch....and after a quick stroll through the selections I went back for what I was looking for. Start with a BadAss iced coffee (out of Hawaii), then a lobster roll from Lobster Shack, then some chicken lumpia from Ihaw-Ihaw (you can find this truck daily at the UPS business at Warm Springs and Amigo). And that filled me up. I listened to the first two bands and both were rock n roll and entertaining during their 45 minute sets. It was nice to sit in the dormant bermuda grass and listen to the tunes while snacking. Impressive food truck show with lots of other activities like learning to paint, hawaiian dancing, and some shopping (a mobile boutique store??) . Lines weren't too bad, but a couple places sold out of a few items I was hoping to try. Pork belly tacos all gone made me sad :(

Love this food truck festival. I usually hold off on going to foodie fest and just save me duckets for this shindig. Really wish Hendo and vegas would hold more cool things such as this and be more friendly to the folks with food trucks. Love the variety they have at the event also the fact that it's FREE unlike foodie fest. Usually have a large variety of food and snacks to choose from so makes it even more fun. It's held at sunset park so you can enjoy a day at the park and grab some grub all in the same day. They usually have rides, entertainment and bands so it makes for quite the awesome day. I highly suggest you check this out for a fun time for the whole fam.

For months I've seen The Spot To Eat truck parked next to the VA office on Palms Airport Drive for almost every other day for lunch. I couldnt find any Yelp listings and never thought of looking on Facebook. Until today when something in the office smelt good and I couldn't figure where it was coming from. At the truck, its a trailer pulled around by a truck, all the pictures and descriptions just blew my mind, I was excited and upset that it took me so long to finally try it. I saw and even smelt their Buffalo Chicken Salad and I wanted one but held off. I started asking other's what their favorites were and went with Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich and Crack Fries. It was delicious on its own and only $7 ($6 for the sandwich and $1 if you add fries). It was a fried chicken with Teriyaki sauce, pineapple, tomato, lettuce, and wasabi mayo between a roll, I mixed up some deli mustard and sriracha and added to the sandwich. Did I have a smile on my face? Yes. Ordering fries on their own are $3 and ordering almost any sandwich or burgers are $6. Delicious looking gourmet burgers at a reasonable price. Their trailer has a TV with sound. I usually see them during lunch at the VA Office near the airport but follow them on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/thespottoeat and Twitter https://twitter.com/TheSpotToEat to see all their pictures, menu, and where there going to be. You wont be disappointed.

The food lived up to the hype, given that they're related to local foodie favorite Truffles & Bacon Cafe. Unfortunately, there are some logistical and organizational kinks- but these are likely just due to being a new truck and perhaps not doing as many events. FOOD: Menu available at ANM was a choice of two sliders paired with a side (fries or tots), and a Spam Fries app. I liked how the food orders were on display on a table in front of the truck, and they also had infused teas available. The Signature Slider is topped with a square of fried mac and bacon jam, which made it a definite indulgence. The toppings were good but it was still noticeable that the beef of the burger itself was not seasoned. The tots on the side were crusted with Parmesan and garlic, and were crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Very good execution for the limitations of a truck, and out fairly fast! SERVICE: They were friendly and helpful, and as I said, the food was plated and on display. But they did not have a posted menu up, which caused confusion with people not knowing what was available or prices. They also had a POS issue at one point, and didn't seem to have cash available as a backup. The staff were nice and food came out fast, but things seemed hectic even early on in the night before it got busy. With more time, this will probably be alleviated.

How can you beat that? The taco I use to gauge a good spot is the Al Pastor, and I thought they have one of the top 5 I've had in Vegas. I know pineapple isn't always a thing with Al Pastor, and I didn't come across any in my taco, but honestly the meat stood on its own so well with the onion and cilantro tossed on top. My wife had the Pollo Asado taco and I took a small piece of the chicken to try for myself (yes I let her have some Al Pastor too!) and it was great. Seasoned well, juicy, and although I wouldn't order it with cheese, she enjoyed adding it. Now, to the hot taco right now, the quesabirria! It was awesome. Flavorful to the max, lots of cheese, the tortilla held up well (I'd probably order extra crispy next time, my preference). Consumme was good but I've found a few in town with more flavor and a little less oil. Service was fast and friendly while the space was relatively clean. I will say that the tables are placed close together in spots so expect to play Tetris with the next table to get everyone seated haha. I will absolutely be back soon for more tacos, maybe even a hot dog, loaded fries, or some churros!

Oh, and it's only $5 to register in advance online, and you can pay at the door. Kids under 12 are free! This event blew our minds! We had the most unbelievable time EVER!!! Everyone was in such and incredible mood, moving freely to the amazing dj's and dancing along with the traditional Indian dancers who were giving instructions. It was one of the best festivals I've ever attended and this hippie mama has been to her fair share. There was yoga and bounce houses for the kiddos, trees to picnic under, free hugs and smiles given generously. It was just an all around amazing, positive time and vibrations of love were super high. The festival take place every year in the spring in the wide open park not far from the airport in Vegas. Just a heads up, there's a 7-11 right across the street to the entrance if you forget anything, like tons of water you'll need! The park is well maintained and really nice itself. Ducks in a beautiful fountain, picnic areas and ample free parking. No need to bring food, the festival has a bunch of vegan food trucks and they're pretty delish! Come dressed in white and expect to pull color from places you thought you've never have to. Even those who didn't want color got some, so really don't come if you're not willing to participate. Make sure you cover your expensive cameras and phones too. Shaking off the excess color before leaving the grounds certainly helps. Color packets are sold at the event so no need to worry about finding them. They're $3 per bag or four bags of assorted colors pre packed for $10 which is definitely the way to go. Bring cash! Outside colors are actually not allowed in as the color used here are all organic made from corn starch, permissible food grade dyes, & fragrance only. They are environmentally friendly, beautiful vibrant colors, and nicely scented too! There are "color throws" every hour on the hour starting at noon. In between there's a ton to keep you occupied. We actually stayed ALL day and everyone was having so much fun they extended the festival by an hour or so. We were very lucky to find that this festival coincided with our trip to this region, but let me tell you, I would not hesitate to go out of my way to attend again! It was an insanely unreal time!!
