I hired Retrofoam to fix a specific issue with a drafty, cold, west-facing room on my first floor. The initial experience was fine and I hired them based on their slick marketing and sales pitch. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. In hindsight, the assessment felt rushed, but I trusted their expertise when they recommended removing the fiberglass insulation and spray-foaming rim joists. Unfortunately, after spending $2,300, the fix made absolutely no difference. When I sent a video showing that the draft problem wasn't fixed, they essentially ghosted me until I left a one-star review here. They then returned and the technician confirmed 32 degrees at the floor level. 32 degrees! He also admitted that their SALESPEOPLE DON'T CARRY APPROPRIATE DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS. On a call later with Aaron (Retrofoam's owner) when I asked about their sales process, he told me that their salespeople don't really do assessments (not what they say on their website!) but rather just rely on "best practices" (aka guessing). Aaron said their salespeople are just there to "measure" and "make sure shelves aren't in the way" of the technicians. Wow. They offered to come "caulk the baseboard" as part of a warranty service. Absolutely refused to own up to a clear misdiagnosis and a waste of my money. Proceed cautiously before signing up with these guys. They don't stand behind their own hype.

Well this year I hired a contractor to remodel my living room because of how cold it was in there, they took the outside walls down to the studs and found at least 40 percent retro foam wasn't in my walls!!! and some of the retro foam started to fall off the inside walls like sand !! I called the company back again and sent them pictures of where the insulation wasnt in there. They said they would have to ask managment about the problem, but I hired this other contractor to remoldel my living room and he said he would use fiberglass insulation in the walls and save time for waiting for retro foam to make a decision.in the meantime and having to pay extra money out for more insulation and to get the job done right ! Retro foam says it guarantee the job and product but try and get them to stand by it

They have to behave like professionals, answer and return calls, know what they're doing, be patient with the consumer and their concerns, as well as have top notch, post installation consumer care. Also, can't fail to mention clean up after themselves, that's a special concern when you have dogs running the property, you don't need a nail in their paw... We have a ranch home, along with an attached three and a half car garage, so plenty of roof... tear off, replacement, clean up..all completed, in 20 hours! 12 hours the first day and 8 the next! Without a doubt, they will be on a speed dial for any future projects!! Matt's customer care and his crew "nailed" it... ;D

Best of all, he scheduled the repair job quickly and stuck to the estimate. Invoicing and payment were handled via email and a professional e-invoice system. Sheldon had great follow-through, and I would hire the efficient and professional Sheldon and Ridgecon for any future roofing issues.

The last few winters and sub zero temps made my mother's home very uncomfortable, and caused her utility bills skyrocket over $400 per month! I knew we had to do something because my mother can't handle the cold, or the shocks to her bank account. However, the thought of having her deal with a bunch of contractors to price out furnaces and insulation seemed like a bad idea. After my mother received an add in her bill from Consumers Energy, I called in and the utility referred me to a handful of contractors. We set up appointments for when I would be in town visiting, and after talking to a number of contractors, Green Home Energy seemed to be the most friendly and knowledgable with competitive pricing. We met with the owner, Mark, who was extremely professional, kind, and helpful throughout the entire process. He priced out insulation in the attic, spray foam in the basement, and a new furnace. He was also able to finance the entire package through the Michigan Saves program, and was also able to get us a $1,100 rebate from Consumers Energy! The install crew was friendly, according to my mom, and they left the place spotless. My mother's place has been significantly cooler this summer, and we can't wait for the winter and cold weather to arrive to see the final result!
