Do NOT go to the NexGen hearing downtown or the North Vancouver locations to see dr. amir soltani.
During my first appointment with him, he forced me to sit with headphones on to listen to sounds that were extremely painful to experience.
When I told him to stop and that the sounds were way too painful for my brain, ears and nervous system, he glared with a very disturbing and angry face and yelled at me these exact words " Do you want to continue, yes or no? yes or no? If you do not listen to this, you are wasting my time! "
Then when I asked him some questions about his experiences working with my audiology disorders he clearly was insulted by my questions and he very clearly stuck his middle finger up at me, while pretending to scratch his face.
And then when I was in an isolation booth for one more test, I asked him a question about the test, and he did the exact same thing. He pretended to scratch his face while sticking his middle finger up at me and glaring at me throwing daggers at me with his eyes, like he wanted to kill me.
I kid you not, this dr. of audiology did this to me, while I was attempting to seek audiology help from him.
It was an extremely disturbing experience attempting to seek audiology help with dr. amir soltani.
I filed a complaint with his manager, and I honestly don't think she did anything about it. I have filed a complaint about his disturbing conduct to the college of audiologists, and of course, the college review panel claimed he did nothing wrong.
I do not think that what I experienced from amir soltani was his ' bedside manners ' or even his Persian heritage, I think that what I experienced from him was a sign of his obvious mental health problems and temper. A patient has every right to ask any licensed medical practitioner, or specialist, specific questions about the test being recommended to them, and about the practitioner or specialist's experiences. If a practitioner or specialist becomes insulted by these questions being asked of them by a patient, especially to the point where the response is anger and/or an implied " $#@! you!!! " Then the practitioner or specialist should NOT be working with any patients, unless they receive professional mental health help and support and have become healthy. read more
