We spent the day with our toddler by going to a petting zoo and park and decided to grab lunch nearby. We never ate here before but we were craving pizza and it was close. The older gentleman (owner?) and young girl working there were so friendly and sweet with our son. He is very shy normally and they were singing him songs and being sweet with him. Construction and ratios were just fine, but this circular slab of slop had ZERO taste. Crust - no taste or chew. They skimped on the process and didn't ferment the dough long enough. Sauce - again, no taste. They must not buy fresh garlic. I'm imagining a 5 gallon bucket of old, yellow garlic powder in the kitchen that the "I don't give a f*** teenager" uses to season the sauce. It's soooo easy to make good sauce. The combo of a ton of veggies (which would normally be good) and zero taste made it almost inedible. I was starving so I dumped Szechuan peppercorns on it to numb my mouth and throat. I'm full, but I could've pounded a half loaf of wonder bread and got the same result. Newtown Pizza makes a decent pizza, but it will never be mistaken for an escapee from Napoli nor Roma, let alone Brooklyn Heights nor Chambersburg. Yet, walking by the display counter with all the attractive pies can set your glands a-squeezing, and the Trenton Pie is very aesthetically pleasing to the eye and tongue. The crust holds the weight of the toppings firmly, perhaps because it is a bit thicker than Romana, and the ingredients are top shelf. Still, the overall taste sensation is not the transcendent experience of my favorite pizza shrines. Nonetheless, it is a standup slice worthy of consumption. The Eggplant Parm is not always prime, as I have found it to be tough chewing at times. The same goes for the steak sandwiches. Mostly a good fill, but occasionally a little under or over grilled. Just enough to keep you guessing. Friendly ownership, staff and crew, and a good citizen in the community. As offered at the top, to each his/her own when it comes to pizza. For those of us who love Ntown Pizza, the world is your oyster. Chow down close to home. Okay sorry I really wanted to like this place, I drove by it several times and fell in love with the old stone building and hanging lights outside. I was hoping for the same type of decor inside. I walked in and BAM! its just another pizza place, with the old time table cloth, plain white walls and the initial feeling was unclean. I had a piece of Sicilian pizza and my friend had a piece of buffalo chicken pizza. The crust to the Sicilian was lite but the cheese and the sauce were nothing to write home about. the chicken pizza had an attractive swirl of buffalo sauce but it was not enough and it lacked chicken. Curious about the sauce I ordered mozzarella sticks with sauce. The sticks did not taste fresh and the sauce had no flavoring. I was not impressed. I was just expecting more from a restaurant in Newtown. I must say though the young adults working there are very nice and professional and the service was excellent. They have a pretty extensive menu that ranges from regular pizzas to pizza with nutella on it (not my thing but I know people go nuts for that stuff!) My personal favorite is that pizza with the vodka sauce! I honestly went on the BIGGEST hunt for this and couldn't believe that it was right here in Newtown the whole time. Vodka sauce on pizza is AMAZING. (Really it is good on everything...) They also have a really long list of different kinds of fries, which you can't go wrong with. I had the pizza fries and they were really yummy. So were their regular ones. Anyway, they also have salads and hoagies, etc., which are fine, but not as good as their pizza. The service here is good too. The people are quite friendly when I come in and when I have ordered for delivery they normally come faster than the estimated time that they give. Ordered a pizza and appetizer for delivery on Thursday night at 430. I was told 30-40 minutes. Seemed about average amount of time for delivery. I live a few blocks from the restaurant, literally a 2 minute drive, so when an hour plus had gone by and the family was screaming about how hungry they were, I picked up the phone to call back. Just then the driver arrived. He handed me the food and I handed him the money. I gave him $40 for the 24 dollar order. He looked at me and asked if I wanted change. While I always tip, 16 dollars or 67% seemed excessive so I said yes. He looked at me and said "I don't have any change". Who sends their driver out without change? He went to his car and scraped up 5 bucks. Rather than make my family endure god knows how much longer of a wait to eat, I took the 5 and let him leave with an 11 dollar tip. I go inside and the order is completely wrong. It is a pizza with toppings (I ordered plain) and rather than appetizer sampler, it was french fries. WTF. The driver then knocked at the door and took the food back and brought our correct order from his car. The pizza was cold and rubbery, something that made Domino's seem like a delicacy, and the appetizer sampler contained a handful of fries, a mozzarella stick, 2 jalapeno poppers and a few fried mushrooms. Neither is true of the pizzas here. They do have other good dishes as well. Have been ordering from here for about a year now. So far so good. I really like their bbq chicken pizza. And cheesesteaks. Everything that has been ordered has been perfect and tasted fresh and not cold by the time it's delivered. I have also stopped in to eat with some of my coworkers who were working in the area and service was fast and friendly. The only real "issue" is that delivery can seem to be quite a bit of a wait usually in the 45-60 minute range and that's on all times of afternoon/ evening placement of orders. Completely understand if it's a Friday or game day Sunday. Either way the wait is worth it and my kids like the pizza and they are very picky. Have only had some of the specialty pizzas and cheesesteak not sure how the actual dinners are but very happy customer. read more

This place not only has some of the best food around town, but the staff and owners are super friendly and treat you like family. Besides pizza, you have to try their Gyro platter! The plate is huge (all their portions are big)...when I get it, it's so delicious you won't be able to stop eating it...so come hungry but don't expect to eat another meal as you will be super full by the time you leave! THE OWNER HUNG UP. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL. Don't give them your money!!!! Multiple families in our neighborhood order from here every Friday night. Their food has been great. We have had a few problems with deliveries recently and were hoping it was a fluke. We called to place our order and when we gave our phone number that had our address in their system. We got some neighborhood families together for a Mother's Day night (10 kids). After an hour and a half we called to check on our order. We were told that the system went down and they didn't know how to contact us....except they had our phone number and address. We were told they could put our order through now but they needed our credit card info. We were never given the courtesy of a phone call telling us that the system was down. As a common courtesy, customer service you would like to think they would make right on their error. So we asked to speak to the manager. The manager argued with us and said there was nothing he could do. We asked for the owner. The owner screamed at us and told us that it wasn't their fault. When we asked if this was the way they treat long time customers he told us he would give us 15% off or nothing. When we argued that at this point we have had 3 families and a large order waiting and they should make it right, he hung up on us. Great way to handle your customers. Friendly staff brought our pizza to our table. Delicious garlic knots. We tried two different specialty slices and their plain slices. Crust: Crispy thin crust with cornmeal. Good texture but no flavor. Would benefit from more salt in the dough and a day or so for the rise. Sauce: Too raw. I don't like overly sweet tomato sauces but this wasn't cooked long enough and didn't have much depth of flavor. Garlic would help a lot and so would more olive oil. Cheese: Fine. We've enjoyed the Florentine pizza best. The rest is so-so but Florentine is white with ricotta, olive oil, spinach, garlic, cheeses. I'd say 7 out of 10 times was excellent!
