Totally inexperienced and unfortunately, it felt like one of my friend's kids was sloppily petting my back, TERRIBLE. So I politely asked her to get the owner and asked if I could stop at 30 minutes. She offered to switch masseuses mid-massage and I was hesitant but agreed. The second masseuse Angela was EXCELLENT! Dare I say probably top 5 best massages I've had period. As I walked out I could even breathe better... she knew exactly where I had tension and made sure to give extra deep pressure on those spots while also applying hot stones to extra tender areas. I eventually told her to forget the stones and just focus on my neck, which was the only part that felt remotely okay. After the session, I was told--for the first time--that there would be a $4 credit card fee. I asked if I could pay part cash, part card, but he pretended not to understand me. I ended up paying full price--$54 for a 30-minute massage I didn't really get. Still, I kept quiet about the quality to avoid embarrassing the therapist, and I left a $3 tip. That's when the man at the front yelled at me for not tipping more. He told me that in NYC, a 20% tip is required. I explained that I tipped based on the service I received, but he kept pushing, loudly, in front of other customers. When I said, "Excuse me, that's rude," and reminded him that tipping is at my discretion, he continued yelling and finally told me to never come back--then physically pushed me out of the store. What's wild is that this wasn't even my first bad experience here. During a previous visit, the same man interrupted my massage midway and tried to switch in as the therapist himself. I told him that made me uncomfortable, and I left that time feeling unsettled too. Between the horrible service, hidden fees, aggressive behavior, and the fact that I paid for a massage I didn't receive properly--this place is an absolute no. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I just visited for my first time on Thursday, August 8, 2024. It will certainly be my last. Aside from the massage tables being extremely uncomfortable and the face area uncomfortable and small, I am listing my experience below. I have another place that I enjoy visiting but out of convenience, I thought I would try this massage place. I called ahead of time to make an appointment. I had confirmed that I wanted a woman and I was told all of the staff members are women. I noticed a lot of the visitors were all men. (eyebrow raise) When I arrived (15 minutes earlier), I was not greeted with a smile or even a hello. I even pondered if I should leave because the energy in here was very unsettling. Massage therapists kept walking past and seemed tired and angry. The curtains between each booth were covered in sheets. I know when coming to these asian massage places, it is not always luxury and that is okay with me if the service is good and the people are kind and professional. The person I had kept looking into the sheeted cover when I was not fully undressed. Instead of a towel, it is a thin sheet that is placed over the body when you lay on the table. The woman I was given massaged the area for only 50 seconds before she ripped it off of me. She ripped the sheet off of me and pulled down the back of my underpants. It was so unprofessional. She was definitely tired and using her elbow a lot but not massaging with intention and when she did use her hands, you knew she wanted to not give a real massage. When I did tell her that I would like some more pressure (it was lighter than a swedish massage) she ignored me and pretended to not understand. They seemed to be overworked one person after the next, no one spoke english or even tried. She was hurting me (I love deep tissue but this was awful). It was just pressing with her elbow and light, light massage with hands. When she did use her hands, she made annoyed sounds. I changed my massage from 90 minutes to 40 minutes. I regret not speaking up sooner. As you can imagine laying on the table you are quite vulnerable. Another woman came in to at least massage my shoulders so I would not walk out completely disoriented after being pressed with elbows and not even having anything massaged out. The woman that came in and took over answered the phone in the room and placed the phone between my calves. I read that it was noisy here but its an unpleasant noisy - not city noise or doorbells and phones ringing. It is more of the staff having conversations with one another. Four people stood outside with me when it was time to pay, I was not offered water. It was a HORRIBLE experience. The woman that took over (seemed to be like a manager) did not even come outside to speak with me afterwards. Avoid at all cost.

I was completely unbalanced, which messed up my right knee and hip. Owwww. So I returned, and Richard worked out the knots and imbalance. I made sure that he knew not to touch my broken left foot, and kept the compression sock on. A painful, expert, and extremely effective massage. I can't say that it was enjoyable, because it wasn't. But it WORKED. I walked out of there feeling renewed. Or balanced. This is serious bodywork from expert and well-trained practitioners, at great prices. Which means that you can give a bigger tip :) They do charge a fee if you use a credit card.
