I ended up having to cover the bill because they provided my kids with X-rays that were not covered by my insurance. The problem is that they didn't tell me this. Typically you expect the front office staff to verify benefits. I have delta dental so it's not like they don't know how to verify they always do. They try to put it on me to verify. The young lady said, it's on the fine print that you are responsible due anything that Is not covered. I get that part but you always tell us when something is not covered. I only gave them a 2 because done of the front staff are very friendly. My kids and I have been a patient for quite some time now and thus ended our relationship with them. But going back, doing recommend either read more

I don't leave very many reviews, but I am compelled to leave a review about this horrible horrible dentist. I have been going to the dentist for I'd say about 15 years now.... This has been the only dentist I had gone to basically my whole life. I thought dental cleanings were supposed to take 6 hours because every time I would go, I would never get out before SIX HOURS every. time. JUST to get a teeth cleaning. Going into my adult years and having responsibilities, it is way too hard for me to take off a full day just to clean my freaking teeth. I didn't realize this wasn't normal until I spoke with one of my friends. She had told me that her dentist only takes an hour to clean her teeth, which I thought it must've been a lie. Well, it wasn't... That is the normal length of time it takes to clean the teeth, not six whole hours. My sister and mother also go to the dentist and they've never gotten out before six hours for a tooth cleaning as well. We've all had to take full days off work just to clean our teeth. What really made me mad is that the dentist told me I had eight cavities as well as periodontal disease the last time I visited!!!!! Periodontal disease at 23 years old!!! They tried to charge me $5000 to fix my "periodontal disease" and "8 cavities" and thats AFTER insurance!!! I was not going to spend $5000 without getting a second opinion. So I decided to go to a different dentist. They told me I had no such thing as periodontal disease and only had a singular cavity. The singular cavity was so minor that I might be able to get it out with just brushing my teeth. This place is a total rip off and scam and I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy... aside from that the staff is sooo rude! If you try to discuss anything with them regarding the wait time and when you'll be seen, they blow you off. I can't believe I've wasted years of my life in that stupid waiting room. I will never be going back there. Do not waste your money and just know you're most likely getting scammed. The new dentist I go to is absolutely wonderful and makes this place look like a freaking joke. If anyone needs recommendations for a good dentist that isn't this Sh*t hole reach out to me! read more

This by far is the worst dental office u can deal with they lie to u. They will send bills months later, they blame each other and wont handle ur situation at all. Avoid if possible. thats why there ratings keep going down for that office. The manager there hangs up on u as well if she doesnt get her way. Avoid Avoid Avoid!!!!!!!!! We contacted our insurance which stated the office was sending request that we are unaware of. So they kept denying them. That to me sounds like a scam of office. read more

I rarely leave reviews but I'm compelled to share my experience. I visited this dentist out of convenience to where I live know. But unfortunately my bust was far from positive. The front desk staff disorganized and rude had to wait hours past my appointment. What is the point of having one in the first place. The dentist seemed rushed and didn't explain nor heard any of my concerns. Definitely just a number there rather than an actual patient. I left feeling more anxious the reassured. And when trying to get medication after my treatments. Or have any of my questions answered front desk will not pick up the phone at all! No medication after tooth pulled just raw dogging the pain over here like what? I I will not be returning nor would recommend this place to others one bit! No professionalism nor good dental care! If I could leave a partial star I would. If you have been here before request your charts and ensure they are billing correctly! read more

I took my child in for a routine checkup since I would come here for my self in 2000-2012 . Since NEW ownership everything has gone down hill! and was absolutely shocked by what we were told. The office claimed my young child needed three root canals, five fillings, four wisdom teeth extractions, and braces even though my daughter has straight teeth. Keep in mind the "Dentist" was Rushed and careless, when I kept asking questions he immediately directed me to his staff to answer my questions and left the room. It's clearly all they wanted was to collect $$ from my insurance. They insisted all of this needed to be done immediately, pushing hard to schedule everything for the very next day/weeks and making it sound urgent and unavoidable. Something didn't feel right, so I refused to move forward without getting a second opinion. Thank goodness I trusted my mother's instinct. After consulting friends in the dental field and getting another evaluation, it turns out my child did NOT need any of that work at all. None of it. I am extremely grateful I DIDN'T give in to the pressure. Parents, please be CAUTIOUS and always get a SECOND OPINION especially when drastic treatment is being pushed on a child. read more

This is not a review of the dentists themselves. They are fine. But the business has the habit of contacting the patient later telling them they owe more money because all of a sudden the patient's insurance suddenly doesn't cover what they said it would. They do this often. Honestly, they should be honest and say that our insurance covers none of their procedures. I have personally experienced this at least a couple times. I cannot afford this tom foolery. I am looking for a better dentist office. Honestly, by now they should know what insurance will cover and what it will not. read more

Great place honest and Sandra medical Assistant super patient and awesome. Would recommend to family and friends

The teeth cleaning was great but everytime you call the office its an answering machine. When you go to the clinic theres too many ladies in the front office but none of them answers phone calls. Whats the use of them there if its answering machine whenever you call. I called to cancel an appt weds and i called again thursday but nobody picked up.left a message both days and hopefully they got it.my supposed appt was friday. I left a message to reschedule it next friday.hopefully they got it too. read more

My husband spent around thousand dollars for the worst deep cleaning of his life. And they charged the medication which we later discovered which is free from Medicare. But they ignored our several request to give us a prescription. The front desk asked us to bring the unopened solution back and gave us a credit on the account. However, we brought it back, they never gave us the credit. So we decided to never go back there again. read more

UPDATE: I thought I was finally done with this nightmare of a place, but I am still receiving bills in the mail! I've called their office multiple times trying to resolve this, but I'm always told the accountant "isn't in" and that they'll call me back--which, of course, never happens. If this continues, I'll have no choice but to report them to the Dental Board Association because this level of incompetence is beyond unacceptable. To make matters worse, my partner also went to this office and discovered he had overpaid through his insurance. It seems like this place thrives on taking advantage of customers by overcharging. Who knows what they're doing with all the extra money they collect? If you've been to this office, I strongly recommend double-checking with your insurance company to ensure you haven't been overcharged. This is not a place you can trust. read more

This is the most god awful place to exist!!! There is no reason why I should have to call for them to send in my prescription to the pharmacy. I sat there from 9am and didn't leave the chair til 4pm.The dentist there never once explained to me the after care for my procedure. All they cared about was getting my signature and money. I've had to call them numerous times for them to do their job. I've requested a doctors note be sent to my email for work and not once did they do it. Telling me they don't have my email on file is absurd when I filled out all the proper paperwork. read more

Back here again with my son for our routine oral care maintenance. As always, setting appointment is still a breeze and I love how they remind me of the appointment. Upon checking in, Thelma who is very accomodating greets us with a smile. She's always been so nice and very organized and very attentive to every questions and requests asked. Daisy, the RDA who attended to my son was very nice as well and made my son very comfortable with the procedure. She sure do know how to deal with kids and does her job well that my son did not even complain of any discomfort. Erika is also very good with what she does, explaining every procedures that needs to be done, what the insurance covers and what's not. Dr. J. Singh was also great with what she does. Michael, the hygienist who attended to me was very professional as well and I did not even noticed that he was already done with the procedure. The place is also very clean and tidy. With my overall experience, this place is indeed highly recommended. read more

This place is horrible! The business has gone down hill. They had overcharged me almost a hundred dollars and I'm still fighting 3 years later to get my money back. Check your paperwork! Don't sign anything! They will charge you for procedures you don't want because you didn't have them chang the paperwork to reflect it. They charged my husband for a lazer treatment and irrigation cleaning he said no to because the insurance didn't cover it. But he signed the "estimate" they charged him anyway. There is no way to contact the corporate office to complain of the business practices or ask for help in matters like being over charged. The company only cares about profits not their customers. Go somewhere else! If I could give them a zero I would. read more

Update-- it's been 6 months since the original review. In spite of weekly phone calls to the establishment, we have been unable to reach an office manger. They give us a name but she's "busy" no matter the day or time. Although staff say the manager will call us back, she doesn't. Each time we call we have to basically start all over with explaining the background. We get statements in the mail with the amount due having increased or decreased and the reps "don't know why". It's absolutely appalling but we're probably going to end up paying just to get away from the situation even without resolution. Absolutely do not recommend this dental office! read more

Definitely disappointed. After receiving dental insurance, I made an appt for a cleaning. I was there for over two hours. They did xrays and I saw Dr. Shafie. Dr. Shafie said he recommended a gum cleaning, but it was not detrimental to get it done right then. The lady in the front office came in and said I needed all these extra services, but it would be over $1000 out of pocket expenses. I told her I only wanted the general cleaning. She said she would need to speak to Dr. Shafie and get back to me another day. She never got back to me. Honestly, I feel like I was being scammed. + read more

Please don't go to this dental office. Newport dental charged me $150.00 for work never I never had. After I proved my $150.00 should be returned I received from them assurance my money would be mailed to me. However, after 6 weeks my money still has not been given to me. I have filed a grievance with Delta dental. I have also filed a consumer complaint with the agency over dental offices. When I call the office manager she is either not available or off from the day. My 13 year old son's baby teeth was causing crowding and pain. He had a 9am appointment but wasn't seen until after 11am. He had the audacity to say a girl would wiggle her tooth until it falls out but a boy would pull it out. I asked if he was kidding and he said no. I told him he wasn't about to touch my other son and we were leaving. I complained to the manager. I showed her his teeth and asked if she was OK with that opinion. She said "no" but couldn't make the dentist do it. At first when I saw how old he was, I thought more power to him for still doing what he loves. However, he couldn't even keep his hands from shaking and hurt my sons gums during the check-up. He should retire since he can't do his job and treat patients with respect. We ended up getting in with a great dentist and staff that was able to pull his 4 baby teeth. Dental Assoc. Of Riverside! read more

Do NOT go here, save yourself the headache!!!! Went in for a orthodontist consultation because it was 'free'. Later got a letter saying I had to pay $114. Never could get a hold of them over the phone or when I did, billing wasn't in so I had to call some other time. Absolutely ridiculous and so much attitude. I don't understand how this place is still in service with so many bad reviews. I even submitted a complaint online and never got a reply by from corporate. Perfect example of malpractice! read more

There would be NO STARS - this office LIED to me!!! After sitting in there office for 2 hours all I had done was some xrays! (2HOURS), then the doctor proceeds to check my mouth and tells me I have a cavity under my bridge. So I spent more time talking to their finance person to figure out how I was going to pay $4000.00 to fix it.......THEY LIED TO ME, but were sure anxious to set up my monthly payments. Next day I went to another dental office - I did not have a cavity!!!!! I had some inflammation of my gums, they took x-rays, removed some of the bad tissue by my tooth - this immediately made me fill better, cleaned my teeth, received some fluoride treatment, gingival irrigation and joined the office dental program (good for 12months), next free x-rays in 6 months All for $347.00 Shame on you Newport Dental/Bright Smile - whatever fraudulent name you can use to lure people into your scam - I wish I could report you for fraud, How dare you!!!! Best root canal experience! Im deathly afraid of dentist due to bad experiences elsewhere, but the staff was very calming and knew what they were doing and best of all, no pain! I usually get outrageous quotes of what I need done for my whole mouth but this was the first dental office I felt they were honest and gave me options to lower price depending on materials for crowns or different procedures available. And first place that doesn't say I must have a deep cleaning. My two children had wisdom teeth extractions surgery here as well and were sedated, also a great experience with all staff. I am very satisfied and happy to be a patient here. read more

I don't even want to give it one star. My sister has had horrible toothache and needed a root canal. Instead of finishing the root canal in one day she had to come back again. After her second appointment she needs to come back AGAIN, to get the real crown instead of a temporary one. Not only the dentist Amir was her dentist and when she said "ow" he didn't even stop and during one of the x rays said " I can't tell left from right." Horrible communication here now to find out my sister has to come back in 3 weeks for the new crown. So stupid and ridiculous I would NEVER recommend this dentist office to ANYONE. Go somewhere else!!!! Also appointment times aren't respected the last 2 appointments I was on time, and I wasn't seen on time or I got cut by another patient that came in after me. No respect for appointment times. I had a 9am appt and the dentist strolls in after 9:30am. If I had been told the dentist doesnt come in until then i would have not scheduled a 9am. No ones explains anything, they all just walk past you back and forth. read more

Hello everyone, I went to this dentist office to get a tooth pulled. I am brand new. They made time to get my tooth pulled that same day. Oh what a relief! I found the office friendly. I found the dentist absolutely amazing. I ended up calling Dr. Schaffey (sp) "Bob Ross" cause of his cool low tone style, including how he pulled my tooth out in so gentle of a manner. He knows his stuff and keep you at a calm the WHOLE TIME. His asst. and x-ray lady (forgive me I forgot her name) with glasses took my x-ray in a way where the insides of your mouth never did hurt when u bit down on those hard plastic things. Yes I highly recommend them for your dental needs. Go ahead and try it as I found it so much better then my Corona dentist off Ontario ave. Mart. Narvo. read more

I don't ever leave reviews or complain ever, but this needs to be said. By far the worst dental office I have ever been to. About 4 months ago I started experiencing excruciating pain from my wisdom teeth coming out and it was causing an infection. Found out my wisdom teeth did in fact need to be removed from another dentist, but they had no oral surgeon at the other office. So, I got a referral and I had to find an office with a dental surgeon that accepted my insurance. I made an appointment at this Newport Dental for a consultation and to get x-rays 6 weeks ago. They took x-rays and the surgery had to get approved by my insurance. So finally, after being in so much pain and waiting around, my wisdom teeth removal surgery was scheduled for September 7th 2021 at 9:00am. A few days prior they gave me the run down about how I can't eat or drink anything 8 hours prior to surgery. I had requested days off of work, found a ride since I couldn't drive after the anesthesia and all that. They finally call me back after an hour of waiting. The oral surgeon, Dr.Zarrabi walks in and apparently just saw my x-ray for the first time after 6 weeks right then and there. He proceeds to tell me that my bottom wisdom teeth were too close to a nerve and I needed to get a CT scan and he wasn't going to do the surgery. I then proceed to get really upset and started crying saying what do you mean this should have been done and noticed beforehand. I took days off of work (I'm a bartender and that's 3 nights of tips I missed out on), I've been in so much pain and I've been waiting months for this, I was expecting to get all my wisdom teeth taken out that day. Everyone around me was saying that he just took a look at my X-ray for the first time and THATS THE ISSUE. They have no respect for peoples time whatsoever. This all could have been prevented had they taken the proper steps to making sure they had everything they needed prior to surgery and should have been prepared. They had my X-rays for 6 weeks!! I took days off of work and I have been in so much pain waiting for this surgery. He referred me to go elsewhere to get a CT scan (which I also waited about 40 mins for) and didn't even have the common courtesy to help with anything at all or give me any pain medication for the inconvenience, nothing. When I got home and made some phone calls, turns out I had to cancel my authorization for surgery with Newport Dental because he sent me to go somewhere else and I waited WEEKS for that authorization. Now, I don't even have a consultation until DECEMBER. The surgery now won't even be until 2022 and I've been in so much pain waiting around and it was a huge waste of my time. Every dental office I called after, said that everything was completely unacceptable what they did. This is why before surgeries they give you a checklist of what you need to get done so they have everything they need. The way they do things there makes no sense and they need to fix the system, seriously. Not to mention while I was there the same exact thing happened to another girl and her wisdom teeth have been bothering her as well and he sent her away with nothing done. And patients walking in and the staff saying they are going to have to reschedule their appointment because they are short staffed. CALL THEM BEFOREHAND THEN. So unprofessional. My teeth and my smile will be ruined by the time I get the surgery now. They are pushed together so much because my wisdom teeth are trying to come out and there isn't any room literally not even floss can fit between my teeth. I already had braces 7 years ago and now my teeth are going to become crooked since Dr.Zarrabi wouldn't do the surgery and wasn't prepared. I won't be able to get my wisdom teeth taken out until sometime in 2022. I waited around for nothing it's so messed up. He also told me that I waited too long to get them taken out, most people get them taken out when they are 17-18 and I'm 23 and that's why they were so close to the nerve. But not everybody needs their wisdom teeth taken out. And I tried to get it taken care of as soon as they started bothering me. He should have had me get a CT scan after I got my X-ray. Now I have to go to a completely new place and wait even longer. Ridiculous. 0 stars. Unprofessional place, don't go here!! read more

I had many complaints with this dentist office. The first time I went in regards to my wisdom teeth pain I waited almost an hour sitting in the dentist chair before someone came to explain my scans and set my appointment. My appointment was set for October 31st and was not done because they said it was necessary for me to get a ct scan of my teeth and reset my appointment for the 9th of November. I got the ct scan the next day and when I went to the office on the 9th they claimed to have contacted me to reschedule my appointment until the 31st of November. I never received any text or email about this reschedule so I decided to go to a different office for a second consultation. There they reviewed my ct scan and successfully removed my wisdom teeth in a matter of days. I didn't like the lack of communication at Newport Dental and the waiting period after constant rescheduling really did not sit right with me. Already emailed Charlotte@brightnow.com. read more
