I can't recommend this place enough. Sal and his team are not only skilled barbers but true…read moreprofessionals that really take pride in their craft. Sal's attention to detail and commitment to providing the best service really stands out. He takes the time to understand exactly what kinda cut I want. You can show a picture and let the artist get to work adding his own touches along the way. The atmosphere in the shop is fantastic - it's a blend of modern style and classic charm that immediately makes you feel comfortable. The staff here is not only incredibly talented but also friendly and engaging, creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience. The House of Barbers is the place to go for a top-notch haircut, fades, shaves, beards, or just a quick cleanup. I left feeling more confident and satisfied than ever, all thanks to Sal and his exceptional team. If you're looking for a barbershop that goes above and beyond, make an appointment at the House of Barbers. You won't be disappointed!

I'm beyond angry about this experience…read more I had been growing my beard for six or seven months before coming in because it had reached the point where I wanted a professional to shape it. Since I'm bald, this was my first visit to a barber in over 25 years. I specifically explained that I was trying to grow my beard out and only wanted a light cleanup. I asked him to blend the sides into my hair while keeping the front of the beard longer than the sides. Instead, this very young barber immediately started with clippers and removed roughly 50 to 75 percent of my beard in most places. He cut well over an inch of length off, leaving less than half an inch in most areas. For a beard, that represents months of growth. He essentially buzzed almost everything to one length, yet somehow still left it longer near my sideburns than on my chin, which is the exact opposite of what I asked for. The left side wasn't even finished properly and was still noticeably uneven and unkempt unless I brushed it into place. I had to come home and try to fix it myself. The part that bothers me the most is what he did to my mustache. Without asking, he shaved approximately one third of an inch directly under my nose. Maybe that's a style some people like, but it absolutely is not mine. Making that kind of permanent change to someone's beard without even asking is completely unacceptable. There is now no hair for nearly half the distance between my nose and upper lip, and it looks absurd. I honestly don't see any way to make it look normal again without shaving my mustache off completely and starting over. I normally brush it out to the sides and curl the ends, but that look is gone. It will probably take another six months before I can even get back to where I was. I'm genuinely seething because there is simply no way to undo what was done. At no point did he stop to ask if the length was okay or show me his progress before removing months of growth. Once that much beard is gone, there is no putting it back. What makes this even more frustrating is that the atmosphere in the shop was great. Everyone else seemed friendly, welcoming, and personable. Unfortunately, the barber I was assigned to made almost no effort to communicate with me or walk me through what he was doing, despite me telling him this was my first professional beard trim ever. A simple conversation before making major changes would have prevented all of this. I'm sure this shop does good work for many people, but based on my experience, this barber needs significantly more training before being trusted with someone who has spent months growing a beard. I walked in excited to have my beard professionally shaped. I walked out with months of growth gone, a butchered mustache that will take months to recover, and enough distrust that I'll probably never let another person touch my beard again.

Yesterday I ended up in this shoppe, and I'm sure glad I did…read more Long story short: The owner is a super nice guy who's great at cutting hair and he and his wife just had a baby, so he's currently living on cloud 9 while working to support them. Long story not short: I have a wedding to attend tomorrow so I had planned on getting a haircut yesterday, so when I got out of work I drove to my normal barber but low and behold, he was closed. Alas, I took to Google and Yelp to find another local Barber to go to that hopefully wouldn't mess up what I've been trying to do with my hair. I walked in and had a seat. One customer was being helped and another was waiting ahead of me. A few mins into sitting there the barber/owner (who he introduced himself as Mike - I think!) asked what I was looking to get done. Being female and the fact that I seem to have long hair (when looking at me from the front), he was concerned I was looking for something that he hadn't ever done before. I told him I had faith he'd do just fine and continued to wait my turn. My time to sit in the chair came not long after, and my hair is basically a wedge but the sides have an undercut, and the back is shaved up to the top like a typical men's haircut... From the front it looks like a bob I suppose, and that was Mike's concern. Really tho, I sat down, we got my long hair tied up and he went to town underneath.... I even had him take up the sides a small bit higher than they were. He faded the sides and back exactly like I requested and the cut was finished off with a straight blade and hot shaving foam to the back of my neck to clear up the fuzzies and edges. When I asked what the damage was I was a bit taken back by how little he asked for. Naturally, I gave him the same higher amount my normal barber asked for plus my standard tip which worked out well for him. Every bit helps when there's a newborn at home that's for sure. I anticipate I'll be back. It's even closer to home than who I had been seeing and I couldn't be happier with the results. Forgive the photos I've posted. I'm currently at work and my office is kinda meh.

Walked in on a Saturday at noon and saw no one in the shop. I made myself known, thinking someone…read morewould come out, but no one did. I called the number thinking someone might pick up and I could let them know I was there, but the phone was sitting on a table and just rang. I decided to wait, thinking maybe the barber ran out for something and would be right back. In looking around, the place was really dirty, with hair and strips all around the 2 chairs. I left after waiting for 10 minutes. Very strange experience. Will not return.
