Great place, great barbers, right price. A great hour spent!!!!!! The decor, the conversations, the finished product. All fun.

This place has a cool decor and very friendly guys but I had some issues with this place. First I was told to make an appointment online which meant there was nobody hanging out to chat with and catch up on town gossip. Second the price was a bit high, a $35 towel shave seemed like it should have been $25. Third was had to dump a bunch of quarters in the meter for street parking and no free parking. Now I had a two month beard and came in for a towel shave, Miguel left me feeling with smooth and rough patches smooth in some places 1/2 day rough spots in others. The hot towels, oils and shaving creams seemed ok but no powders that left me smooth and tight skin so I wouldn't have to reshape for two days. I don't think I'll be back ad I've had better shaves in other barber shops and prices were to high! read more

Single handily the best barber in Kingston and in my opinion, the Hudson Valley - some may argue the best on the planet .. Point is, these guys are good, really really good.. In fact, these guys are in such high demand that they have 2 locations within walking distance of one another .. The benefit of Pugsly's Sideshow, is the ability to make an appointment so you don't have to wait, and these guys are always on time - true professionals! While the price may be higher than "other places" it's well worth every single penny. In a world where our options are often limited to big box store after big box store located along run of the mill strip malls - it's refreshing and encouraging to know that there is still a deep hearted commitment to stay true to what it means to be a barber - and from the moment you walk into any of Pugslys Barbershops - it's clear that your at a special place! This place is the best barbershop I have ever experienced. I been going there for a few years now and I found no other place has come close to this place. Mike is one of the barbers there and does a great job. If you like a great haircut and/or shave, then this is the place to go. Appointment only, unless you want to go to Pug's barbershop at another location that offers walk-in availability. This is the same owner of the two establishments. All with very good barbers. If you're looking for a hipster hangout then maybe you'll like this place. if you want a professional barbershop experience I might look elsewhere. I waited for over an hour with three chairs in play and only 3 people waiting. When it was finally my turn, the twenty something year old hipster barber (sitting at the chair next to the bathroom door) left me sitting in the chair waiting for him for 10 minutes while he took a break standing outside the front door, smoking cigarettes and playing on his phone. I had to actually go outside and ask him to come in and cut my hair before he put out his cigarette and came inside. His haircut was the worst I've had in the last 4 barbers I've been to. He spent more than 50% of the time in chair carefully buzzing the back of my neck with 5 different length clippers. He then failed to actually curt the hair above that the blend in. I pointed that and some stuff other stuff out and he rudely told me "I've been doing this for 5 years, I know what I'm doing". At that point I decided to avoid the inevitable unpleasantness of a response and just let him wrap it up. Keep practicing bud, maybe you'll figure it out in another 5. I won't try this place a second time. read more

I have been going to this barber since 2010. The haircuts are phenomenal. I have not gone to another barber and will not. If you get your haircut here you will not want to go anywhere else ever again. These guys take their time to make sure everything is perfect, and won't let you go until it is. read more

I started going to the original Pugsley's Barber shop about a year ago. I was frustrated by the long waits and how they didn't stay open late which made it difficult to get a haircut after work. I was excited when Mike opened up his second location (Sideshow) that's by Appointment only. I no longer have to wait and I can get a great haircut from Mike before I head to work. Seriously, the haircuts I get from Mike are the best I've ever had. The guys at the shop are cool and the 1970s tiki hut interior is rad. I highly recommend you check this place out. read more

i was skeptical about this place at first. maybe too hip for me, but after a frightening cut at a local place, i made an appointment w/ Mike, the owner. it took almost a week of waiting due to his popularity, but it was well worth the wait. i got one of the best cuts of my life, enjoyed the rapid banter back and forth w/ the other barbers and clients and left a happy man. read more
