If you're thinking about coming here then don't. I wish I seen a review like this before rotating between three different barbers and getting bad cuts. I showed them a picture of a very obtainable haircut but they just ignore and start doing their own thing, never in the middle of the cut have they asked to see the picture again or what they're planning to do to confirm with me. They just cut your hair watch whatever is on the Tv and mingle with the other barbers or people in the vicinity, paying no attention to your hair. If you have hair that you really care about and you've been growing it out for a certain cut they will mess it up. They're good at fades and more older style cuts but for young people with curls, textured hair, mullets and all these other "newer" haircuts there are other shops who can better service you. read more

Gave these guys another shot a few weeks ago and wish I hadn't, location isn't ideal, and parking is always terrible. Environment is awkward and uncomfortable, and the cuts are just as advertised just 2nd level. I'm looking for a Top level haircut and I've tried a few of their barbers there but they just aren't cutting it for me, literally. At first I was feeling an old school vibe from the owner which I really did like but after meeting the rest of the barbers over the couple of visits it's a pass for me, I'd go home with cuts from their clippers around my ears and neckline and then get a burning sensation on either side of my head after I rinse off at home. read more

Jake is my go to guy. He does a great job with my beard. The vibe and atmosphere are chill.

Inconsistent. Don't go. One barber screwed up and I went back for them to fix it, but they told me that I would have to pay full price. Keep in mind, I have had good haircuts from them in the past, but the fact that they are inconsistent and won't fix their mistakes at a discount is bad business practice. So it's either they think that I'm trying to take advantage of them or they don't realize how inconsistent their barbers are.. either way, it's not worth risking getting a bad haircut with the possibility of them not fixing their mistake. I've been going to this place since they opened and they are awesome! I actually followed the owner from a shop he worked in to his new place of business. He has cut my hair for over 15 years, including my 3 sons, they are all grown men now and I've never been disappointed. If you are looking for a quality cut from some very professional guys, this is the place. One of my sons lives in the Albany area and still gets a cut whenever he is in the area! Been here a few times and the one thing I can actually confirm is that there is no consistency. Even the same guy who has cut my hair has messed it up. I've left with uneven sideburns, hair all over me, and just uneven cuts all around. I shouldn't have to trim my hair after I get a haircut. Best place if you're looking for a buzz cut, which isn't my style. The only reason I've gone more than once is because I've had trouble finding a good haircut in Poughkeepsie. Barbers? If you want a quick, inexpensive cut, this place is fine. If you need something more complicated than an straightforward cut, it's a bit risky. I had to show my barber at 2nd Level where my fade ended three times; I had to ask him to cut texture into the top three times, finally asking him if he had texturing shears. I even showed him a picture of what my hair should look like. I'm still unsatisfied with how it looks. Again, if you have a simple cut and want something quick, you should be fine. But a good barber should be able to read your previous cut in your hair and take the time to do it properly. And not for nothing, but I was not given a paper collar under my smock. read more

My dad has always had the hardest time finding a barber that will do a great job. They are either too old school or to New school and I feel that 2nd level Barber Shop is the perfect mix. All the Barbers work attire is right out of GQ magazine which is a nice look from the barbershops that wear their street clothes to work. While I was waiting for my dad all the barbers were busy with at least one person waiting which is always a good sign. Everyone was very friendly and every haircut I saw finished was perfect. I was a hairstylist for many years and I pay attention to detail. So when I saw my dads hair I was more then pleasantly surprised Aniello did and amazing job and he just jumps right in and cut his ear hair and eyebrows. Which is good for people like my dad who can be embarrassed to ask for those little details. My father lives in Rhinebeck and will drive all the way to Poughkeepsie because he doesn't trust his hair or feel as comfortable as he does at 2nd Level Barber Shop. read more
