I was passing through town and I needed a haircut. This shop was very close to my hotel, and I'm glad it was.. This is just a good old-fashioned barbershop. Boris was very friendly, I had a great conversation with him about different things while he was cutting my hair. We had never met, yet he was still like an old friend catching up on things. My haircuts are simple. I like it short, but not "Boot Camp." So, I just ask the barber to use a number five blade. The haircut was perfect, and then he also trimmed around the edges to make sure that everything was just right. He also trimmed my eyebrows. It was an absolutely excellent haircut. My partner said that it was the best haircut that she had seen me get, *EVER!*. The price is very reasonable. The shop is cash only. If you don't have cash, there is an ATM in the liquor store a few doors down. The next time I'm in town, I know where I will be getting my haircut. Thanks, Boris! read more

Brought a friend in for a haircut. we described exactly what he wanted. Short 4 on top 2 on sides. Simple right? not to Boris he did wat he wanted not what was asked for. When questioned Boris said this looks better sure i cold give him a crewcut but this is better. We left with my friend's hair longer than he wanted. We went there due to the reviews on this site. Boris is a very interesting Barbar! Reminds me of the kind of haircuts I use to get as a kid 50 years ago. Two styles short and extra short, no messing around once you're in the chair, wham bam clean you up and you're on your way! I've never seen a bad haircut in 7 years. Line can get long as Boris is by himself and it's a walk in kinda place, but he can keep you entertained as he talks about local and foreign issues like a NYC Taxi Driver and his Russian Accent makes the stories funnier! read more

I took my 5year old grandson (who is on the Autism spectrum) here because of the great reviews. The barber/owner was very nice and friendly in the beginning....we waited about 45 minutes. This poor child has a high sensitivity to sound and cannot stand the use of clippers so I asked for scissors only; which barber accommodated. However, my grandson was twitching and very uncomfortable with the scissors also, this is when this insensitive,rude and unprofessional barber began his tirade about how busy he was and how he didn't have time for this and that if he knew he was like this he would not have agreed to cut his hair. It made me so uncomfortable that I told him to stop cutting his hair. We left with half a haircut and he even took my money for a full haircut!!! The worse waste of my time, money and not to mention the humiliation! Will NEVER go there again. read more

I love this place, from the night blooming cactus in the window to Boris, himself! There are flat screen TVs above the barber chairs for media junkies, but they are no where near as entertaining as Boris himself. With his gift of gab, he must have kissed the Blarney stone, but he's obviously not Irish with that thick Russian accent. And you will get a fantastic haircut at a price lower than most shops in the area. I am an amateur actor, and I have often handed Boris a picture of some historical figure and asked him, "Make me look like that." And he does! I have also gone to him and requested that he make me look like a 1940's band singer or a 1980s KGB agent-- He never fails. read more

I just happened to choose Boris' Barber Shop which is nearby my home. What a lucky guess. Boris (He's Ukranian..not Russian..LOL) is such a great barber.
