I was shocked and…read moreappalled to be berated by Cabaret who would lecture me about what "real pain was" telling me "people in wheelchairs" knew "real pain" - the funniest part is that my mom's twin is a quadriplegic so telling me that people in wheelchairs are the only ones with real pain was rich coming from Cabaret.... I started bringing a family member with me at all times to appointments just because the way he spoke to me was so unprofessional, and they all agreed witnessed how he would berate, speak down to and invalidate anything I said, because to Cabaret since I didn't have a physical handicap, my pain wasn't valid to him - even though I had several autoimmune conditions with chronic pain as well as severe rheumatoid arthritis and degenerative disc conditions... After ~2 years of this I stopped seeing him altogether: I couldn't deal with graveling for help for months and receiving treatment here or there while enduring being talked to and treated in such a horrible way. I actually gave up on pain management docs for ~8 years because of experiences here... I powered through pain for so long I ended up with an TLIF spinal fusion with disc replacement due to severe central canal stenosis after going to ER for back pain, I was put in an ambulance for an emergency spinal surgery on a Sunday to prevent paralysis (I was riding my motorcycle through the pain of severe central canal stenosis that required ambulatory transfer and emergency spinal fusion surgery on a Sunday). I was fortunate to finally receive compassionate care from both a neurosurgeon and pain management doctor as recovered (located in Ventura). About a year after my spinal fusion: I needed a facet block and MBB RFA due to nerve pain that never resolved after the surgery. My quality of life is so much better - I feel like I am part of the living again. I hate medications and the side effects of them, but sometimes they are necessary, and sometimes injections or surgical procedures are also necessary for relief. Thankfully, now I see physicians who are compassionate and listen to both visible and invisible pain and will work to find the root cause of it - all while treating me with decency, like I'm a human being.

I begged him & he finally injected my shoulder. The next visit I begged him to inject my other shoulder, which he did after a lecture about fibromyalgia. He said my pain was due to PTSD, in spite of multiple positive MRIs. I've had 2 neck fusions, lumbar fusion, knee replacement & I just had a shoulder replacement a week ago. It was the 3rd NP at Cabaret's office that got my shoulder MRI after injections stopped working. The NPs were willing to inject my shoulders . It was completely destroyed bone on bone. I've since been diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis. I've gone to other ortho docs for injections, because since I've been there I've gone thru 3 NPs & now a PA. My rheumatologist has sent him notes asking him to inject my SI joints, but the PA said no, it's a trigger point. Every new employee thinks I have fibromyalgia, so no injection. He refused to manage my pain after back surgery, which led to me being under medicated, since the orthos can't order as much. The Cabaret PA gave me a week of pain meds after my shoulder replacement, & said they'd order more . The pharmacy called them for clarification, & they didn't respond. So here I am, 1 week after total shoulder replacement, & no pain meds overnight & until whenever. I know he's a great doc--but he misdiagnosed me.i will add it was the 2nd NP who recognized my very swollen hands and sent me to a rheumatologist, so that was good. She also got an MRI of my back, and was going to call me to set up a back injection. That never happened. She quit & I fell thru the cracks. I had to see another doc for the injection , since the wait time for Cabaret was months.

Do you suffer from any fears or phobias? Do you ever get…read moreany test anxiety or suffer from stress? Do you need to lose weight or stop smoking? When you need a real break-through in your life, I highly recommend to see Dr Bunny Vreeland. She is a clinical hypnotherapist who can definitely help you. I first met her through my BNI business referral group. I initially heard many testimonials from my fellow members who used her service to deal with weight loss, depression, stress & anxiety issues. She helped many others eliminate their fears & phobias too. I thought I had an issue that would be too hard for her to help. I had a very hard time remembering the good times I had with my father when he was alive. Background: My dad passed away when I was 9 years old. When he was alive, he seemed to only talk to me when I needed to be disciplined. Needless to say, I felt like I was walking on eggshells with him around. After he passed away, I realized I had trouble remembering the "good times" I had with him. When I met Dr Bunny in my 30s, I could only remember a total of 5 good memories of my father. I refused to believe I only had 5 good memories of him. When I asked Dr Bunny if she could help me, she quickly said YES! I was blown away! So I asked her how much a session was and when she told me it was under $100, I thought "what do I have to lose?" Rather I had more to gain if it worked. After meeting with her for a 1 hour session, she gave me a notepad and said you will need to write down all the memories on the notepad as they come back to you. I was like "really, that's it" As I started to drive home, many memories of my dad flooded my brain. In the 1st hour, I remembered a total of 30 precious memories of my daddy. This session was priceless!!!! And now, I am even a better dad to my own son after this ONE session! Thank you Dr Bunny for breaking down the wall of fear that I built up inside me as a child! I'm forever grateful!!

I apologize for the typos and errors but the situation I had to ordeal still is stated well enough to understand. The situations I endured were not fair. Other problems occurred that I did not detail and when I brought them to the administrator and the director of nursing they didn't appear to follow-up on my concerns. Though the place was cleaner than it had been and most of the nurses and aides were great, there was a large amount that I would honestly say were cold and rude. My roommate had a stroke right after my arrival. I saw delays in response to her needs. It greatly concerns me that a majority of patients there have no voice due to stroke, dementia, etc. Their lack of ability to speak should receive extra care. It appears that is the way they prefer it as if you speak up, they don't follow through and they will not allow you back. I'm better off elsewhere. Note, I didn't receive a response back nor did I get a call to discuss my experience. So I will continue to my recommendation of seeking help elsewhere.
