I had used the service department for some time. Communication had been spotty over the years but I expressed my concerns and kept giving another chance but it kept getting worse. I recently came to the end of my confidence in them as I had been waiting for a part to come in. I hadn't heard back from them in weeks so called and they noted the manufacturer canceled the order and I had to go directly to them for reorder. I asked why I was not informed of this and they said they left a message but I never received one. Just have no confidence that ever happened as I would have a message notification if it did. Just another example of lack of care and concern for follow through. I like to work with local businesses but do have an expectation of a minimum level of service and that they actually care about providing such. read more

I just got my 2024 Corvette from Newman and it was a great experience overall. I was worried they would try and lowball me on my trade and they did not (we both did our homework.) Dale Mayr was professional and patiently answered all of my questions about my car and then gave me a 90-minute lesson on setting it up and a lot of tips and tricks. The close-out process was smooth and they did not push too hard on the extended warranty like some places do (of course they take time to explain it all, but we declined.) The showroom was clean and neat and the service writer present answered a few questions for me as well. Dale said I could come back later after I have driven the car for a while and he would "go deeper" into the settings and anything I want to learn about my car (there is a lot to learn!). All in all, a great experience and I look forward to eventually returning for routine maintenance. read more

I have purchased three vehicles from Newman. My first was when I was 18. The next two were in my mid 30's. I will never buy from Newman again. Recently I have purchased two used vehicles. After a few weeks there were major mechanical issues. Newman was not willing to assist in anyway, and under WI law they do not. In my opinion, I feel that Newman purchases vehicles was were not properly maintained, and quickly turn these vehicles around for a profit. All while trying to force the consumer into an overpriced warranty. There are many choices when it comes to purchasing vehicles. All I can say is buyer beware and do research before you put your trust into a dealership. I can honestly say that Newman could sell solid gold cars for $10.00 each, and I wouldn't cross the street to get one. Newman will NEVER get another red cent from me. read more

I recently purchased a 2010 Toyota Tundra pick up with 110k+ miles from Newman Chevrolet. The day after my purchase, I took the truck to a Milwaukee Toyota dealership to have all of the recommended services brought up to date. During that process, the Toyota dealership 'found' the water pump to be leaking. Toyota's quote to replace the pump was $900+. I acquired an extended warranty from Newman (at the time of purchase) because the Toyota was out of warranty. Although the repair would have been covered by the warranty, the defective water pump was determined to be a pre-existing condition by the warranty company. Consequently, they refused to cover the repair cost. I contacted Peter Igel, my Newman sales consultant to express my displeasure and frustration with the situation. He, in turn, worked with Tony Pirlot, Newman's Truck Manager, to resolve the issue. Despite the fact that I purchased the truck without a Newman warranty, and further, that they had found no evidence of a defective pump at the time they did their safety inspection, Tony arranged to replace the water pump at no cost to me, even providing a loaner for use while the repair work was done. Tony and Peter provided satisfactory resolution to my problem. Their efforts exemplify great customer service. read more

I took my car here for an emissions test, and the guy couldn't even properly drive a manual transmission. I have a dashcam and it captured the entire thing. The guy was riding the clutch bad. And laughing about it!! As he said, "things gonna explode". When he was driving into the shop, everyone was staring at him and one of the mechanics asked if the "clutch was out on that thing". No, surprisingly the clutch is still fine over a year later. And if it needed work, I definitely wouldn't bring it here. I have never heard such an awful driver in my life. Hearing what he did to my baby makes me cringe. He should not have been driving vehicles. As he was driving out, he said "don't know how it f***ing passed". read more

My parents went to Newman when I was growing up, so when it came time for me to buy my first car, I chose to give my business to them as well. Their service is unmatched, you can get in usually whenever you want, and they always do an excellent job. I never feel like I'm getting ripped off at Newman. The collision and paint center does fine work as well, I just hope I never have to see that side of the business again, if you know what I mean! *fingers crossed* read more

I think it speaks volumes when the director of service and the lot guys who clean my car always say hi to me and always have a smile. Took my Subaru to Newman for an oil change also telling them the brakes squealed from a previous bad aftermarket brake job elsewhere, instructing them to replace them. The uber honest service manager said my car didn't need new brakes adding he would sell them but it's too soon. Left feeling I'd found an honest shop. Today after getting our other car's tire replaced I'd given Newman the chance to sell me new tires as the current tires have 50K miles. Again, too soon, the tires have 1/4 of their life left. Honesty - LOVE it. Also, the car we drove to fetch the car that had the flat, well it's low tire pressure light was on due to a rapid temperature change to around zero. We asked if they had a air pump that we could use. Yes, but one of the guys asked us to pull it inside which we did. A service manager drove the car further in the shop, added air to each tire and drove it around to the front of the service entrance. Talk about Above and Beyond! Needless to say, they now have loyal customers and if in the future we need a new or used car, we are going to Newman Chevrolet! read more

DO NOT USE THIS DEALER!! I was involved in an accident and took my Yukon to Newman because they are a preferred body shop for my insurance. I told Craig to do whatever it takes to get it back to normal. I pick up the car a month later and the vehicle looked terrible. I was told that they don't detail vehicles. Clearly they don't put a wash mitt to it either. I took the vehicle home and cleaned the inside and out so I could see the work. It was horrible, covered in buffing compound, swirl marks, paint defect outside and body dust inside. They tried again and I was assured it was ready this time. My wife goes to pick it up and it wasn't any better. The painter told her, "What more do you want. This is the best its going to get." I wouldn't trust these guys to cut my lawn let alone touch another vehicle of mine! We took the vehicle to Total Auto Body. They took the vehicle back apart and found all the incorrect repairs Newman did. The damage Newman covered up because of incorrect repair was astonishing! This is one of who knows how many unsafe vehicles they send out their doors. My vehicle ended up getting totaled due to NEWMAN!! They cut the inner quarter...left it! The inner fender was damaged...left it! If you value your families safety you will not use this body shop! read more

We purchased a used Chevy Traverse that was a mess from the beginning. AND the service department was completely incompetent in fixing issues with the car. It took an entire summer - at least four visits for the service department to fix the air conditioning. When I started taking it to a local service place, they fixed any issue the car had and were knowledgable. We have now traded in the Traverse and will NOT go back to Newman. read more
