At first everything was very good with Newman. The gentleman that came and gave us a quote for a replacement HVAC unit was professional and nice. After talking with the office, I decided to upgrade to an air handler unit that uses a vairable speed blower. I accepted the quote that was sent to me via text. Fast forward a bit to the first install date of December, 19 2022. They installed the unit when I was at work, but my wife was home for the day. I was excited to see the new unit when I got home. As I was going throught the owners booklets and registereing them through the manufactuer, I noticed that one of the model numbers did not match my quote. They installed the wrong air handler, a cheaper non variable speed one. I contacted Newman and barely got an apology. They asked if I wanted to keep this one until the proper one would arrive. Of course I need heat, this was just a few days before we have the negative wind chill temperatures for a couple days in a row. Did they think I would go without heat in the winter? A month passes, on January, 18 2023 I have literally heard nothing from them. Made me feel like they did this on purpose in order to try and make money on an unexpecting customer. I called and no-one answered, so I left a voicemail. By the same time the next day I still did not hear back so I try to call again with no answer. I decided to text them and finally got a response. They finally got the proper unit in on about Feburary, 8 2023. A lady called to set an appointment, at which I had some questions about the date and the thermostat. She said she would return my call but did not. We scheduled and install date on a day I was off work this time. The installers were nice, but did not do a great job. The air handler is not very level and there were air gaps in the duct that I had to go back over myself and fix after they left. I also noticed that the casing on the outide unit is also damaged. It appears to be just cosmetic, but I expect a brand new product to look new and not mishandled. After all of this, I may have gotten one single sorry. They had no follow-up, no empathy, and even tried to make me feel bad by saying the price of the correct air handler had gone up and they were not going to make much on it now. I had a couple other small issues through the process as well. I would not recommend them to a friend or family member. read more

Newman responded quickly to a service call for leaking AC. Showed up the next morning. Troubleshooting showed inop pump that they replaced right then and also helped with water clean up caused by bad pump. Prices were fair, customer service was excellent, and I would recommend them to everyone. read more

Purchased new AC unit & furnace and had them installed by Newman Heating & Air Conditioning. Came with 5 year warranty that only applies to certain things. My fault for not reading the warranty paperwork better. The condensate pump was leaking because the installer used the old lines instead of using new lines all the way from the unit. I was charged for labor and all new lines after having the unit for 2 years. Read and scrutinize EVERY piece of paperwork from this company. The installer and other people were very nice and some of them even knowledgeable. All in all they had to make several trips to make the install correct and it still looks VERY amateurish and homemade. Would NOT recommend them for new ac or furnace installation. read more

They have great customer service when things are fine but shew, that all changed quickly when things start to "go bad". I was trying to inquire about how one day my unit is not working correctly, waited over 2 weeks for my part to come in and then all of the sudden the unit fixed itself. Simply asking questions on how that is possible and trying to explain I was still having issues, made the receptionist become irate, yell at me and then hangs up. Will never use or recommend them again. read more

Worst company if you need air. Called them 1st day and told them I had a warranty. Told me to call warranty company, but to tell them to use them. They diagnosed problem wrong, ordered part, ordered more parts, wrong parts because wrong dx. Rediagnosed, ordered more parts and put on, still no air. Called home warranty and told them I wanted another air company and 2nd day I had air. 30 days without air in June and July. It was horrible. They blamed everything on warranty company. Had an issue with the blower on our HVAC and called Newman to verify the diagnosis that I had already come to about the blower. They actually showed up a couple hours later as promised and discussed the problem as he tested the components. Jesse was the technician and he was great. We discussed the simple replacement or the complete unit. Jesse asked if I thought I might do the work as I had mentioned that I really needed verification of the issue and had found the parts online and it was a straightforward job. He recommended against the complete unit replacement due to the mechanical nature of the issue. Chosen by our Home Warranty Company. They responded quickly and appoint made for the following day. Office (Alicia?) called the next morning to confirm the arrival window. The technician (Jack) arrived in a company van during the window and was friendly and professional. Listened and asked questions then got right to work. He was methodical and did his troubleshooting starting with the Thermostats, Zone Controller the the Air Handler. He traced the source of the problem and corrected it. Jack explained what he had found and answered all our questions about the current issue and gave us some advice on preventive maintenance. We hope we can request this company next time we have an issue with our HVAC and will have them out for regular preventative maintenance visits as recommended. read more

I had to find a new heat and air company since the one I have been using had gone out of business. A friend recommended Newman's heating and air of Jonesborough. I gave them a call last Saturday and they sent out a technician by the name of Matt that same day. My heat pump was in poor condition due to age and neglect. Matt assessed the problems and told me he needed a part that he couldn't get on Saturday so he said he would be back Monday. He came back on Monday and he replaced all the parts that needed replacing, cleaned the machine, and blew out the drainage pipe which was clogged. He made sure it was working properly and presented me a bill which I thought was very fair and reasonable considering all he did. I want to recommend Newman Heating & Air Cond and Matt. I have a new heat and air company now which I'm very happy with. read more
