I'm originally from PA, but living in SD now I bug my mom to go there and scope it out for me. I used to love to go here, and every time I visit home I go. I always come away with bags and bags of stuff. They have a GREAT kids section with fun educational toys, and great home goods. It's a bit pricey, but it's more than worth a stop in. read more

I absolutely love love LOVE this shop! Every time I visit, I always wind up buying something. They have tons of unique gifts for everyone in the family. When you first walk in, if you look to the left you will find a huge array of bath and spa items, such as lotions, soaps, perfumes, PJ's, etc for both men and women. To the right you will find an assortment of fun educational toys for all ages (good thinking on the stores part, the kids can be looking in the toy section while the parents are shopping). Then, if you go up the stairs you will find all the home items. You can get anything from your everyday gadgets like a spatchula to personalized home decor/entertaining items like a authentic Japanese sushi set. They also have fun seasonal items, dining-ware, linens, picture frames, candles, cook books, etc etc. No matter what or who you need to buy for, you will find it at Newhard's! read more

I love perusing this place although it is pretty expensive. It has the best of everything: supplies for a cook, lotions and perfumes a woman, toys for a child. My favorite is their Halloween & Autumn displays which feature great entertaining pieces: diningware, linens, centerpieces, etc. This place is great for gifts. read more

It's a little pricey, but to be fair, most local stores are. These are small businesses trying to make a living. You can't expect to walk in and find prices like you would over at Target. With that being said, this is one of my favorite stores in town. If you need a unique gift, this is the place for it. It's got something for everyone on your list. It's also been great in a pinch when I completely forget the kids have a friend's birthday party in 2 days and I have to get a gift! Instead of having to drive into Monroe or Middletown I'm always guaranteed to find something here. This is my Go-To place for buying gifts. I have never failed to find a gift for just about anyone (old, young, male, female, anyone, any occasion), and they gift wrap as well! I only wish I had more time to shop for myself. I am not a huge product person, but I have bought fragrances and creams while waiting for something to be wrapped b/c they have excellent quality product with the most unique fragrances - I can't help myself. The toy section is small but works. The majority of the store is for housewares/decor, with some seasonal items featured. A woman's mecca, but for men there is plenty - I've purchased things like pens, barware, even grooming items. The staff is available, helpful and pleasant. The only reason I did not give this store five stars is that after ten years shopping there some of the product lines begin to feel too...familiar - I wish there were more frequent new items, I might shop more for myself then as well. read more
