f I could give Newby ZERO stars I would. I absolutely wouldn't recommend this dealership to anyone. They are crooked, untrustworthy, and don't stick to their word. Long story short they agreed to give us x amount for our trade, sealed the deal signed paper work bank approved loan, etc. They took us outside to the car they made us fall in love with sold us on, set up on star services, made sure we were all hooked up and ready to take delivery the next day after it was detailed, we come back to pick it up they give us keys right before we pulled off the lot my husband decided to check the paper work to find the VIN is off.. thinking it's just a simple mistake these go inside to fix it and they take the keys back and say oh you bought a car in salt lake. Imagine our confusion as we just spent all day the day before at the dealership literally getting set up in the car outside. Saying if we would have left they would have reported it stolen and "hunted us down" yall literally put the keys in our hands, told us congratulations, had the trade, and sent us on our way? But again the wrong vin was THEIR MISTAKE. Five employees including the owner had hands in this deal and none of them caught it WE DID. They tell us our truck is already sold but we really should come look at the different car from salt lake since it's a good deal but if we don't want it they will just give us a check for our trade as agreed to "make it right and it's already sold." I come back again to look at said car after it arrives decided I don't want it it's not the same and I'll accept the check. He says oh actually I can't today come back tomorrow for the check shake hands agreed. He texts me day of that he'll get the truck back from the people who bought it instead. Owner wouldn't come out and talk to me himself and made me wait 2 hours for my truck to get there. Again that was not what we agreed on. They are untrustworthy, back peddled on everything they say and definitely did not try to make our situation right. Again do not and I mean do not do business here. read more

I brought my truck in for a factory recall issue. I thought it was curious that they first took pictures of the outside of my truck but then I realized that they were protecting themselves from any liability for work done. After my truck's airbags were serviced, they pointed out that the dash was cracked. Imagine my surprise as it hadnt been cracked when i brought it in. I was given multiple excuses but no accountability for how it happened. You would think for a company trying to protect themselves by taking multiple pictures you would think they would have taken pictures of the actual workspot! But they did not. Even in the invoice of work done, it says nothing of a crack in the dashboard. So, do not let this happen to you. Take pictures of everything for your own protection. read more

Took my truck in for a coolant leak. They said it was likely a radiator crack. They didn't call me all day for an update until I finally called just before they closed. Said yes it was a radiator crack and it was $2200 to get it fixed. I took it to a good mechanic in town and he found the real source of the leak. A bad seal on the overflow cap. $18 fix and I was on my way. Don't trust these guys to fix your stuff read more

WORST EXPERIENCE. Newby had the exact truck I had been looking for so I decided to give them a shot. I booked a hotel and drove 6 hours after negotiating the price and details over the phone with the Sales Manager Seth. I told Seth that I was already pre-approved through my bank, but he talked me in to submitting an application to see if one of their banks could get me a better rate. After my initial conversation with Seth there was very little communication. On Friday, I got a call from the finance department letting me know they approved me through one of their banks. My rate through my bank was better so I decided I would just use my bank. I left a message for Seth before I drove out to make sure that everything was good to go. I didn't hear any back so I figured the deal was good. When I got to the dealership this morning I told Seth that I had a check from my bank and that I was ready to sign the paperwork. At this point, Seth tells me that I would need to go through their finance company to get the discounts that he had promised me over the phone. Seth was very misleading and dishonest. He told me I could use my own finance company, but that they would add the extra $3000 back on to the price (mind you the discount was off of the market adjustment, not MSRP). He proceeded to tell me that the discount on the market adjustment was typically only for locals only, but he would give it to me if I went with their finance company. He did not mention one word about him not giving me the $3000 off if I used my own bank when I spoke with him over the phone. I told Seth that I had left him a voicemail yesterday morning to make sure there were no surprises, and he said "oh sorry, I'm really bad at checking my voicemails". He claimed that he told me this over the phone and that he had it recorded. I would have never driven this far if he had disclosed that I would not be able to use my own finance company. Long story short, I left without a truck, a lot of wasted time and money, and very unhappy with the way Seth and the finance guy treated my wife and I. After we left Newby, I ended up making a deal with a different dealership, on a better truck and couldn't be happier. I would NEVER recommend this dealership to anyone, as their character and customer service is extremely poor. read more

Newby Collision was absolutely THE BEST. My car took close to 2 months to be finished - only because I probably had the worst insurance ever. BUT because of KURT SCHIFFMAN, I was kept apprised of every detail. He worked endlessly with the adjusters to get the correct parts and to bring it all together. Once the adjusters finally listened to Kurt and all the parts came in they were so efficient. My car was a Nissan and they even took it to the Nissan dealership to have the gages reset. Anyway, Kurt is one of the kindest and most hardworking people I've ever met. Everyone should come to Newby Collision ID you have car issues. Next car I have to purchase will be from Newby. I live 3.5 hours from the closest Buick dealer and I will travel twice as far to never come to this place again! The service department is not competent for simple repairs that I could probably do myself, but my vehicle is still under warranty so wanted to have it done "professionally". The service manager, Damon, is completely unprofessional and disrespectful, he should be fired for how he speaks with people. He gets an honest review, negative, but honest, then gets arrogant and rude to the customer. This issue is and will continue to get escalated with General Motors directly. read more

I absolutely cannot recommend Newby. I purchased a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado with 96000 miles in January 2019. When I finally had a need for some cool air from the air conditioner in April, I discovered it was blowing only hot air. The vehicle now has 98000 miles and I am preparing to spend some significant cash to fix the issue which the service department should have found. Granted, I should have purchased the extended warranty - this is obviously an oversight on my part. However, the compressor / leak issue should have been discovered. In fact, when I brought the vehicle to Newby service department 2 1/2 weeks after purchase complaining of a 'coolant smell' in the cab / vents, the service department found nothing. That should have been a clue that something was not right with the 'system.' I took the vehicle back to Newby in April where I was told that I just needed to add some freon. The freon was added and in a few days the vents were back to 'normal' blowing hot air. Oh, and by the way, the 'smell' is from the leak. I am not a mechanic and yet I discovered this. I figured this out with very limited mechanical training. Here is what I found which Newby did not find - a bad compressor / condenser, a leak in the system and dye in the refrigerant from previous auto worrk. When I informed Newby of the issue, I was told I was on my own since I did not discover the issue in the first 2 weeks. Many friends and acquaintances recommended Newby. I have and will inform them and others of my disappointment in yet another dealership. In my original review I thanked Newby and further stated "Now, if only all dealerships operated like Newby, consumers would feel much better." Three months later I no longer stand by that statement. I emphatically do not feel better and Newby IS just like all the other dealerships. If I could find an honest dealership, they would have a customer for life. read more

DO NOT let them touch your vehicle. After several terrible services I'm finally writing a review. Several oil changes the light always come on after. When told we have to add oil to even make it hit the stick they don't offer a free service to make it right or any sort of apology. EVERY time our truck is in there we spend hundreds when quoted WAY less. When we bring our frustrations to anyone of management they pretty much shrug their shoulders and offer $20 off a $400 bill which was quoted to be under $100. Just dropped of my GMC Acadia and they said it will be an automatic $115 service fee charge. Might be a little thing or it might be a big deal. Right there that is crap!! Charge $100/hr. If it takes 30minutes then it's $50 not $115. I get that you have to pay people for their time, but if doesn't take the full-time don't stick it to the customer. Lured me in with a great sales price, then told me that to get the deal, I had to 1. finance through their bank of choice 2. would have to pay $1,500 more if I chose to pay cash 3. Charged a $395 "protection plan" fee (not required by law) 4. charged a doc. fee $100 higher than the other dealerships 5. quoted a sales tax of $1,300 when the actual sales tax should have been $698.50. Folks, this was not just a salesman I spoke with - it was the Manager! Avoid this dealership like the plague, unless you enjoy strongarm mafia tactics. read more

Service manager said $60 or $70.00.. lol and behold we came to find out is was only a loose wire connection. Didn't have to change the bulb either. Put on a new wire connector and came out with a $115.00 bill. WOW, did we feel taken advantage of. Will not do business with this business again. They don't even rate one star. Would NOT recommend Newby GMC, service tech Doug Cannon or Service Manager Noelle - they will turn you away, leave you stranded and not provide service or even look at your vehicle - they will recommend you to go to another dealership for service. My daughters pulled into Newby dealership this morning after traveling for 10 hours that should of only taken them no more than 6 hours with a trailer full of rodeo horses having emissions issues on our 2019 GMC with only 35,000 miles on it, On Star notification was to service immediately! I really appreciate you refusing service on our truck for my daughters and our horses. Way to represent GM and provide service! They discount the vehicle $1,000 if you finance it and if you have money or your own financing it's a $1,000 more plus the hidden fees ! I:E a used car should not have a $394 accessories charge. I contacted Newby to purchase a used Truck. The price was real good on the website, but I felt I could negotiate a better price, because I've never paid the advertised price for an automobile in the 60 years I've been buying cars. I became quite frustrated when they would not budge on their price and nearly walked away from the deal because they would not negotiate. Once I realized that I was getting a real good deal I agreed to their terms. I should have realized what a good price they were offering it at and they need to do a much better job in making the customer truly understand what a good price they are getting. It would save a lot of frustration for both the customer and for the Newby staff, if they could let you know it's a "no haggle" price and unlike CarMax pricing it is a real good price. Absolutely the best experience I have had at a dealership. Zach Eberhardt was great to work with. I purchased a truck from out of state and he was the only one who would help get me pictures/videos of the whole truck so there wouldn't be any surprises. Most dealerships I were working with refused to put it up on a lift to get me a video of the undercarriage. He had me videos in about an hour from calling, in the rain no less. Went into Newby to get a vehicle inspection and an oil change. 20 minutes later I get a call that my vehicle failed inspection due to leaking power steering hoses that can be replaced for $600. Mind you my vehicle has never dripped anything to date, I agreed to the repair. After receiving my vehicle I drove it home and noticed spots coming from under the front of the engine bay (near the steering pump). The new hoses were leaking! I looked at the driver side wheel well and 3 pieces of hardware were missing (from removal for the repair). I also noticed electrical harnesses (4) were not re-secured and (1) hanging down by the suspension. Either Newby did a fradulent repair OR Newby gave me a fradulent vehicle inspection certificate since I was able to leave with my vehicle spewing fluid all over when it was not when I arrived. I'll never go back. I would recommend others to steer clear. This is not an honest repair shop. Next complaint is to the Division of Motor Vehicles. read more

Took my 2015 Yukon XL to get some bumper work done from their collision center. When I picked up our vehicle the work they had done on the bumper looked great. Later that day we noticed our back tail lights no longer worked. Took it back in for them to fix, their response to us... this is a defect on 2015 Yukons. They also told me to go Google it, but they were not willing to help or do anything to fix the problem. Very bad customer service! Both tail lights worked when I took it in... and when I picked it up they didn't. Really? This is how you treat your customers on a $60K vehicle? Doesn't matter if it's a problem, the fact is, they worked when I brought it in and when I picked it up they didn't... that falls on the dealership. Very disappointing! read more
