Annoying and off putting. The store itself has some cool…read morestuff in it and clearly, items are being discounted as the store increasingly faces it's demise. During a spontaneous trip to the mall in North Attleboro, I stopped in FYE and found some cute items to purchase. There's only one associate on a Saturday and he automatically signs you up for a subscription to the VIP service for FYE at the point of sales. This is not my first time dealing with this store but a No doesn't get you too far. He says it's free, but of course you have to cancel within 30 days. Make sure you remember that or else it's $11.99 per month for a subscription you probably won't use. The whole promotion for this VIP service takes much longer than necessary, plus you have to provide a license to the associate which I feel is sketchy. Randomly he throws in subscribing options for magazines too and just prolongs the whole cashing out experience. Fortunately to cancel the subscription is fairly easy online, but you have to find the correct button to cancel. Emailing them will get you no where with FYE. I feel like the whole subscription thing is a ploy to try to keep the remaining FYE businesses and online presence open, assuming people will forget about the subscription and help subsidize their failing business. I think that'll be my final time shopping at FYE.

Great (semi) old school music store. The two people working were very knowledgable about multiple…read moregenres of music and were super friendly. It's a small space, but it's chock full of stuff! Tons of new and used CDs, tons of used DVDs, used VHS, cassettes, collectible box sets and more. The only downside (for me) is there isn't that much vinyl. It's called Kangaroo CDs and Tapes so they do deliver what they claim in their name. They do offer special orders they can get anything available, there just isn't that much vinyl to browse. I'd totally suggest checking out the store because there is lots of great stuff and it's run by some good people! Plus any store that's still selling psychical media of music should be supported!!!

Popped in to see what this place was all about. Owner told us "If you're looking for something…read morespecific I probably don't have it, but if you're just looking around I probably have something you'll want." She was right! What a place! Wall to wall CD, stacks of awesome cassettes and some choice records. Staff was helpful and knowledgeable as heck. Dookie, Back to Black, and RUMORS on Vinyl! Whitney Houston and Sade on cassette! Holy Smokes!

Huge store with all types of used and new books. I only had time to look in the children's section…read morewhich was huge and decently organized by categories such as (sensory/cause and effect, holidays, popular authors, language, potty training, family). You could spend a good chunk of time browsing through the bins and shelves. It is great that they have a train table in the kids area so they kids can play while you browse the books. I was searching for Lunar New Year books, but couldn't find any. They had a bin for the big holidays like Christmas, Halloween, Easter and a general holiday bin for smaller holidays. The employees were nice and can system search by author/title, but they couldn't do a search by general topic/genre.

The Used Book Superstore in Burlington is my personal money pit -- and honestly, I'm fine with it…read more I've never managed to leave with fewer than ten books, and at this point, I don't even pretend I will. The selection feels endless. Every genre, every niche, and then, just when you think you've seen it all, there's a wall of Blu-rays, DVDs, video games, board games, and random bits of memorabilia you didn't know you wanted until they're already in your basket. The prices are almost insulting to other stores. Seriously, I've paid more for a cup of coffee than I have for some of the books here. You'd almost feel guilty... except you don't, because you're too busy carrying out a stack taller than your torso. The staff is excellent -- actually helpful, not the fake "let me know if you need anything" kind. They've tracked down what I came in looking for, and then somehow convinced me to walk out with three more titles I didn't even know existed. My shelves at home are groaning under the weight of their recommendations, but sure, suggest me another series. Why not. I've been a regular for about a year now, and as long as I live in Massachusetts, this will be one of the few places I actually look forward to throwing money at. You never know what you'll find here, which is exactly why I keep coming back.

It has a particularly good selection of new and used rock records, as well as a nice selection of jazz. Round Again has been in business since 1979 and has outlasted all other Providence record stores from that era, all under one owner who, as far as I can tell, is also the only employee. I've bought tons of records there over the years that remain prized parts of my collection, and I almost never leave empty-handed. For those complaining about the owner's temperament: get a grip. No, he is not Mr. Congeniality. But he is knowledgeable and extremely fair. If you want to sell, he will give the highest payouts in the area, in my experience; if you want to buy, his prices tend to be lower than anywhere in the area. I've had many conversations with him; he's a very interesting person with a lot of great stories who is not afraid to voice his opinion. I enjoy talking to him. There are many other record stores in the area that I like as well, but Round Again has survived and thrived for over 45 years for a reason. Shopping at Round Again feels exactly like shopping at a used record store in the 80s. I'm grateful I can still get that experience somewhere.

Honestly, this is refreshing as corporations understaff and stress their employees. This local owner know what we the patrons want, we want people who are happy with their jobs and that's done by great staffing. This is my go to for any gift. Yes, you're paying more for a book than you would on Amazon but this is the opposite of a greedy corporation who screws everyone. This is truly local and I'm lucky to live 20 mins away.
