Everybody has their own opinion of what a cheesesteak and homemade French fries should taste like and here's my all time fave VOTED #1 in the LEHIGH VALLEY. for the past several years by the public poll. First off, I was raised around food service and restaurant businesses and have particularly high standards. The ROLL should be FRESH if not crusty exterior and warm inside. The steak meat should be mixed with some type of American or Provolone, Pepper Jack and onions, peppers, mushrooms or without. Hold the salt; the cheese is full of salt. Then add a nice wide drizzle of marinara or red sauce across the top and VOILA! Add a huge bag of fresh cut French fries to the mix and it's a ridiculously awesome combo that NO CHEESESTEAK PLACE can beat! That's what this place serves consistently each visit! Although it may be tucked behind the now destructed NEWBURG INN over off of route 191, that travel time will be worth every bite. This place will impress even the pickiest of critics. Today I ordered from Newburg Deli, using the GrubHub app on my phone. I'd never ordered from here before, so I figured a new experience would give me an opportunity to write another Yelp review, which I love doing. :) But also because I saw this place only had 2 yelp reviews, so I figured another one could help to get the ball rolling, maybe. So here is what I ordered: 10" Hot steak and cheese sandwich "with the works" (mushrooms, peppers, onions and sauce) Chicken Parmesan (with garlic bread and pasta) 5 Pierogies Shockingly, I'd never tried pierogies before, and they seem so popular. So I figured now was as good a day as any to FINALLY try them. And the company says they use high-quality ingredients to make everything from scratch, so that caught my interest too. So here goes... I placed my order at 6:25pm. The estimated delivery time on the GrubHub app said 7:18pm-ish. But it arrived early, at around 7:04pm. The delivery lady was very nice (and lovely as well). She handed me a shallow cardboard platform with all my food, and we greeted and said goodbye with smiles. So I would say friendly service as of what I have experienced. The Food: First off, the servings are VERY generous. I have added some photos of the food I ordered, but I will give a description, both in looks and in taste, for each dish. And as I am sitting here eating the food, I'm writing the reviews while I taste each item, so that everything is fresh in my mind. Pierogies: So what do I think of them, now that I have finally tried some? I like them! They are sort of a lightly-salted, half-circle, fried pastry filled what tastes like creamy mashed potatoes. All flavorful, not bland. Mmmmmmm. Steak and cheese sandwich "with the works": Oh man... That is one GODD sandwich! Warm, soft bread packed with plenty of the filling--Melty creamy cheese, tender steak strips, cooked onion, mushrooms and green bell peppers. All with good flavor! My kind of sandwich for sure. Chicken Parmesan with Pasta and garlic Bread: GOOD! Ok, so the paste is penne. With a fresh and robust-tasting tomato sauce (its hearty, you can see tiny chunks of tomato in it). The tender chicken is covered with a light breading crust and covered in melted parmesan cheese--sitting on top of the pasta. And the garlic bread is lightly crispy on the outside, soft everywhere else, and just the right amount of garlic and butter. Oh wow. Yum, yum, yum. You wouldn't think you could order food like this from a "deli". For some reason, whenever I think deli, I think cold meats and sliced cheese. But yeah, this is a GREAT meal for the hearty eater. Judging by the menu on their website (carrying burgers and fries, along with salads and such), it looks like the whole family could eat here, or all your friends, whether they are looking for some filling comfort food, or if they wanna go light and healthy. There's a little bit of everything here, and the prices are decent. All in all, I would have to say this place gets 5 stars from this happy customer! read more

Numerous salads too. Seems to offer catering. Cannot beat their lunch special: 12in cheesesteak, with a huge amount of fries and a can of soda, $9.99. I've only had their lunch special several times. I was craving a cheesesteak, and yelp suggested this local deli nearby. They have a wide selection of wraps, sandwiches, and subs and they are all customizable to your liking. I got a cheesesteak wrap and asked for grilled onions, red peppers, and lettuce. The beef was tender and flavorful, although my wrap did get a bit soggy after about 20 minutes. I also ordered the pierogis, which were served hot and fresh. The crispy exterior was the perfect complement to the creamy potato filling. However, it was quite oily as evidenced by the greasy brown bag the pierogis were in. There is only one table so it's not a suitable dine in type of establishment. read more

We ordered cheesesteaks and fries the first time. OMG!! They were awesome! Good size, fresh with lots of meat and many choices of toppings if you like. My husband and kids agree it the best cheesesteak we've had in this area. Our only complaint is they don't offer Wiz for their cheesesteaks. They make fresh cut fries, and they are great! cooked just right and served hot. We ate there, so they were still crisp. I don't order fries for take out, but that's just me. I ordered the Dutchy Panini on my 3rd visit. It's Roast beef, horse radish cheese, horse radish sauce on sourdough bread. Very good, but not as good as the cheesesteak. On the 4th visit I tried the Rueben, although it was good, it needed more Corned beef and sauerkraut. Next time I will go back to the cheesesteak, but the Kale Salad with Tahini Dressing sounds good, might have to try it out. It's a very small place, only 3 tables and the owner uses one as his desk. Another incredible catering order for one of our parties! I always order more food than I need. However, after seeing people take seconds I am glad I ordered as much as I did!! We had 22 coming to our home and ordered a large pan of Sausage and peppers , large pan of baked ziti, large garden salad and a large tray of cheesesteaks. Sausage and peppers was all wiped out along with the cheesesteaks. Half a pan of baked ziti left which we will have as leftovers this evening. The garden salad was very fresh with beautiful tomatoes and cucumbers served with a balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Always happy when I order from Newburg and will continue to do so!! read more

I have never reviewed a place on Yelp before. I am reviewing this because I don't even expect customer service this terrible from Comcast. I used the "order online" feature on this app, and I was sent an email confirmation confirming my order. After not receiving my order after an hour, I called the restaurant to check in the status of the order. They told me that they never received an order. I informed that I placed an order online over an hour ago, and they said they never received it and asked through what website. They said to call that site and hung up on me abruptly while I was expressing my confusion about that statement. I'm sure the food is lovely and it's a nice restaurant. However, if you're going to set up systems for online orders you need to do a few things: 1. Check those orders. 2. Give a shit about those customers. 3. Not hang up on them when they call with a perfectly natural question. 4. Not blame the website offhand without even checking whether you actually received the order. Oh and as a general rule of thumb, it's usually best not to hang up on a customer as they're trying to figure out why they paid money for your food and you don't plan on giving them any food. These folks are super nice and they try to accommodate gluten free when they can. They are one of the few delivery in the area that offer gluten free that's not pizza (and the GF crew knows how that can be...) so I was very thankful to find them. They were very friendly and delivered quickly. They did, however, put croutons on my salad when I asked them not to, but the bunless cheesesteak was tasty--no it's not Philly, but it was good. The fries weren't cooked through, but it filled me up when I had no other options. I'd be willing to give them another go and get the food fresh. read more

Stopped here on the way home from Blue Mountain after seeing the cheesesteak signs on the way up. Tried the $9.99 special with a cheesesteak, bag of fries and an A-Treat soda. First, such a great deal for what you pay. Damn good cheesesteak, really good fresh cut fries and loved the nostalgia of an A-Treat Soda.
