Absolutely delicious. I will be returning. The meats just fall apart and cook to perfection. Definitely recommend.

I've been on a quest for Prime Rib! So, I decided to try Grumpy's. Always ordered rare, which means…read moreyou get medium rare at all the places I've tried. I've had tender, cut with a fork prime rib years ago, but I cannot this elusive cut anywhere in the Lehigh Valley. The places I've tried were all good, but none were great! I've tried prime rib at Millers Ale House, Prime Steakho.use, Texas Roadhouse, Outback, Longhorn. While the seasoning and taste varies from place to place; the one common element is having to saw the steak with a knife to cut it. This results in excessive chewing of the meat. This really reduces overall enjoyment of the prime rib experience. To get what I want from a prime rib experience will probably require paying $60 plus dollars and a long drive from the Lehigh Valley. Grumpy's of course serves smoked prime rib. I love smoked meats but not when it comes to prime rib I discovered. So, I won't be getting the $32 dollar, 16oz prime rib there again. I will be ordering the blackened bleu cheese burger with bacon and the ribs again! Onion rings a must for me. The side salad (adds $2) is excellent! Not just iceburg lattuce. I chose cole slaw as a side' it's good but their style of pink cole slaw is not for me. You get a piece of corn bread, but it's tiny and totaly underwhelming compared to cornbread elsewhere. The staff is courteous, attentive, and friendly. The ambience leaves much to be desired. To me feels like a bikers bar, which it is not. At the end of the day Grumpy's gets a B+ in my book and I will occasionally visit for lunch or dinner. Note: Their Au Jus is highly recommended and is not served with the meal. Must be asked for and you'll be glad you did!

Wish I had more pictures to share but we devoured everything so quickly. But that does say something about how delicious Grumpy's BBQ really is. My wife and I shared the extreme sampler. There were two guys working the grill and prep station making sandwiches for the 3 customers ahead of me. At first I thought maybe they were just trying to get their orders rolling before taking mine.. then 5 minutes passed.. still wasn't even greeted.. normally I'd expect something like "Hello, we'll be right with you!" But not even an acknowledgement that I was standing in front of the register. Between 5-10 minutes there were two couples that had lined up behind me and ultimately left because no one was taking orders or acknowledging the customers in line.. finally, after 12 minutes of waiting I walked away without ever having been greeted or acknowledged in any way. No eye contact, no smile, nothing. But, since I was there to watch them prep the three sandwiches for the customers ahead of me I can tell you that this place is just like any other fast food restaurant. Nothing is fresh. Every piece of meat or food I saw them prepare was cold or frozen and then heated up. They also use Sweet Baby Rays bbq sauce, which admittedly I like, but I think seeing huge containers used to fill up their squeeze bottles just put a bad taste in my mouth overall. If I'm you, I'd remind the owner by not eating at this place, that good businesses are ones where addressing your customers presence and welcoming them to your establishment is your #1 priority outside of the actual quality/taste of the food.. for comparison, look at how Chick-Fil-A runs their business..

The full menu can be seen on the wall behind the counter. You have the option to order a Smoker's Sampler or one of Q's Gourmaq & Cheese. They also have sandwiches and dinner platters available. This time around I ordered the Smoker's Sampler. You have the option to get two, three, or four meats. I decided on jerk chicken, beef brisket, ribs, and salmon. The four meat sampler comes with two sides. I chose Mac & Cheese and Elote. Everything was fantastic! The meats are tender and the sides are flavorful. The jerk chicken and ribs are top tier. The sides were Mac n cheese, Pineapple mango slaw, and etole. All great matches with our protein. The owner was very accommodating. He answered all of our questions and made our experience as good as it possibly could be. The decor was outstanding with incredible artwork everywhere. Here's the catch! You just don't know when they are available for sit down service. They are small to large group oriented. Meaning catering is the priority. If they are contracted for an event, they may not be open for sit down service or take-out. So, Ownership recommends calling ahead to see what services are available. If you are able to stop in, You will be very happy you did. We will be back!!

Unfortunately, there was a strong cold draft at floor level, leaving our feet uncomfortably cold throughout the meal. The hostess was sweet and greeted us with a smile. The food service was unremarkable. Our waiter was not particularly friendly nor personable. The drinks were a weak start. The red sangria was poor. The bourbon cocktail was an odd mix of bourbon, apple cider, and other elements--an awkward, Frankenstein-style whiskey sour that simply didn't work. Worst of all, both drinks were served in thin plastic cups, which immediately cheapened the entire experience. I ordered the falafel sandwich and specifically requested a toasted bun. It arrived not just room temperature, but cold. I sent it back, and it returned burning hot... the bottom soggy... literally too hot to pick up... with no browning or color change, clearly microwaved. Microwaving is not toasting. At that point, the sandwich was inedible. I removed the bun entirely and ate just the falafel, which was dry and largely tasteless. At this point I knew coming back to this restaurant was a mistake. Food timing was another issue. The dishes took roughly 45 minutes to arrive after the drinks, possibly longer. We were all getting annoyed and what started out well when we first walked in turned negative. I wasn't impressed on my first visit years ago... and this second visit confirmed it. Between the poor drinks, cheap plastic cups, ridiculously long wait (with no explanation nor apology), and careless food execution, there's no reason to return.

If you haven't been to a Roadhouse before, be prepared for peanut shells on the floors. Free bags of peanuts are hanging by the hosts booth- you help yourself and start cracking, shucking, tossing the peanuts on the floor and eat away! Staff was super friendly, bathrooms were ok (a busy place though so the bathrooms really could use some attention) and music playing was great. Now food- we had 7 people and 5 ordered the filet, one ordered the steak kabobs over rice and then I had the prime rib. The steak kabobs along with one of the filets were asked to be cook very well done, and needed to be returned for more cooking- (to be honest I only saw the kabob and it was really red still). The manager came over with the returned food and our waiter and apologized wholeheartedly- not necessary, but really nice to take the time to do. My prime rib was excellent, the only thing I wish they would change is their au ju sauce, it didn't taste like the real drippings from a cooked prime rib but some sort of jar type with added smoke flavoring- not great...at all. No alcoholic beverage were ordered, a couple people had a tea or pop. Overall great dinner. Split the bill three ways with each group paying $68 something each- plus we left a $50 tip- so $250 ish total (so about $40 each). Give this place a try, not bad!

We were 7 so I put our names in the waitlist (no reservation) and 5 of our party arrived early. Unfortunately they do not consider you until the whole party arrives. The 7th thought we would've seated without her so she didn't show up until half an hour later. Once we told the hostess our party was complete, we waited another ~15 to get a table. You can imagine those who arrived early are getting impatient. Good thing is that our server put everyone at ease and host-crisis averted! Almost everyone ordered steak and everyone was super happy with the quality of meat. Of course the Texas size overwhelmed us and seeing so much leftover was sad (all staying in hotels and no way to take doggie bags). One highlight of the meal of the cactus blossom- none of us have had it. It was fun.
