We recently had Cathy's Creative Catering cater my daughter's second birthday. We had a breakfast theme and decided on breakfast for dinner! We chose a waffle bar, sausages, hashbrowns and a fruit salad. The staff was so kind and came right in time to set everything up. They served about 40 of our guests, and the food was all delicious!! They took out trash for us from time to time and cleared dirty plates. We had a birthday cake which they kindly cut for us even though I did not purchase it from the company. (We have had their cupcakes and peanut butter pie for our wedding a few years ago and they both were delicious!!) We had such a wonderful experience with them and were able to relax and enjoy our daughter's birthday with family and friends. My son & I decided to take my father out for lunch for his 81st Bday. We went to Cathys Creative Catering & Cafe. This place is definitely the Diamond in the Rough!!! Loaded bake potatoe soup with fresh crispy Bacon, Minestrone soup & fresh salad with homemade French Dressing. All excellent. But our Main Dish, Pork Schnitzel over Cabbage & Noodles. Cathy's was used to cater a last minute funeral luncheon. Food arrived on time, delivery person was efficient and very pleasant. Food was excellent and plentiful. Turkey bbq, Mac and cheese (kids and adults went back for multiple 2nd helpings, macaroni and potato salad. Everything was delicious and dealing with them was stress free. read more

I was to a party of a friends that this company catered. The young man that came in and set everything up, was very nice and he did his job. This was a Sunday event. The food was really bad. It was't even identifiable and the cheese steak apps, tasted like the fish sauce from the scallops app. That was just the first observation. Everything else, the stuffed mushrooms, scallops and everything else, were so dried out! The hostess and family were horrified Nothing was edible. I had never heard of this place before but looked at the reviews after and I'm floored that they had such good reviews. Maybe just a bad day and everything was made Saturday and just reheated. I don't know. But for the price these people paid, I was just was in a head spin on the quality. read more

I have used this catering service twice and was going to use them a third time which did not happen. This is the very first negative review that I have written in my life. The first time that I used them was for my baby shower and it went flawlessly. I used them again for my daughter's baptism 6 months later. The cake for my daughter's baptism was delivered UNDECORATED. A round cake with plain pink icing was delivered. No writing and no decorations despite the conversations and pictures that were sent to make sure that the cake was perfect. This was extremely upsetting as this was supposed to be a very special cake and center piece to celebrate the christening of my first daughter. I had to take time away from my daughter and guests to explain to Cathy what happened and she agreed to give me a total refund the cake but not before trying to get me to agree to letting her get the cake back to decorate. I live 45 min away so by the time she got the cake, decorated it, and brought it back the party would have been over. They supposedly do wedding cakes too so beware to any brides-to-be as Cathy's Creating Catering is very unreliable and you never know what you're going to get. I would hate for your day to be ruined or for a damper to be put on your special day . The next day the person in charge of the cakes personally called me to ask what happened. After I explained, she stated how upset she was with her team and how disappointed she was with them. She also said that she appreciates me not going straight to a negative review as people sometimes do. I said that I understand that people make mistakes and I am still willing to work with them. She was very kind and I appreciated her phone call. Most recently (7 months later) I spoke with Corine and asked for a catering quote for my daughter's 1st birthday party. Corine took my order and said that Cathy would get back to me soon with a quote. 1.5 weeks later (and now 1 week before the party) and I still did not heard back from Cathy. I called today and spoke to a very rude woman (not Corine or Cathy- I forget her name) and 1) inquired that I have not heard back and it's been 1.5 weeks and 2) I took off a few items from my order. She said that I should hear back from Cathy by tomorrow. Then she calls me back 5 minutes later and says that actually, Cathy only works on Sundays for orders over $500 so she won't be able to cater my daughter's birthday party after all. I got upset, rightfully so, as my daughter's birthday is now 1 week away and I have to figure something out last minute. Also, I was never told that there was a minimum of $500 for Sundays during my initial phone call. If I was told upfront about the minimum, or even if Cathy had the decency to get back to me within a reasonable time frame, this post would not even have had to happen. I would have realized on my own that I wouldn't have made the minimum and would have had time to figure something else out. As I was trying to explain why I was upset to said rude woman, she cut me off, got snippy and said that I could email Cathy. Customer service is terrible (except for the person in charge of the bakery that o spoke with in April) and they are completely unreliable. read more

Would definitely recommend this company. They catered a lunch for myself and about 28 of my family members; ages 5-85. They worked so well in our space which was the "club room" in a luxury apartment building. Food was hot and fresh. The two servers were polite and efficient. Quick set up and break down. Cathy just catered my daughter's baby shower and did a wonderful job. They were very helpful with designing the menu and I was so pleased to have a server for the luncheon. The food was the right amount and it was delicious. Our server Jessica was lovely and she loved our pups! I highly recommend Cathy and her staff. I hired Cathys for a small dinNer party of 20 people. I wanted a more intimate sit down dInner. Cathy asked about what food my husband liked ( it was his birthday) and if anyone had allergies//didn't eat meat, etc. she catered the menu to my requests aNd liking. Last minuute I needed more servers. She quick got back to me hiring two more staff members. The food and service wAs first class. They quick asked wherE things were they would need and told me to go enjoy. And I did- I didn't need to lift a finger. They passed appetizers, served dinner and cleaned up. I had Cathy cater our wedding this past Saturday and we had a Buffet style dinner for 34 people and let me just say... it was AWESOME. I honestly didn't expect much considering it was buffet and I feel like anytime food is done in mass quantities it just isn't that good but this was THE BEST. Literally everyone raves about the food and desserts!!! We had the manicotti, tenderloin, chicken Picatta (my faveee), spring rolls, mashed potatoes, veggies, and then an assortment of amazing treats including yummy moist brownies, mini banana nut cupcakes with peanut butter frosting, mini cheesecakes...I'm getting hungry just thinking about it all. The best part was that we had a bunch of leftovers to feed us for the week!!! Ugh I couldn't have been happier with her. Great price, delivered on time, awesome food.. definitely will be hiring them again in the future!!! I don't have a pic of the food but I'm attaching the desserts!! I was given a gift certificate to Cathy's when my mother passed away in October. We have been trying to make reservations to come in for dinner since end of October and every time I have called to inquire about when they are open, they have been closed for catering events! I have called 4 times to try and make reservations; the last time I called I was told it is the middle of the Christmas season and of course they are extremely busy and to come see them in January. So I called back today and was told they are closed for another event. She then went on to say that it is a very busy time of the year for them. I guess I should have asked my mother to drop over dead at a more convenient time of the year. If anyone wants to buy my gift certificate, please let me know because I won't be giving them my business. read more

Had them cater a company event for us and was extremely satisfied. It was a record low temperature evening and they had to transport everything in bad weather conditions. The food was excellent and the staff were as well. We'll be using them again and will be stopping by the café to check that out. read more

Love this place but you must call first to make sure they aren't off catering! Their soups are to die for and you never know what they are cooking up till you get there but it's always worth the trip!! Seafood dishes are always extreme and fresh and most dishes are huge so plan to take home for the next day too. We had to replan our wedding from a destination wedding to a backyard wedding. We had about 11 people and the catering was wonderful. We originally thought of getting some things to put out at a grocery store but just the convenience of having people to heat, serve, transition, and clean up was well worth it. Also the food is fantastic, I only wish I had room for more. Just hired Cathys Catering for a fundraiser I was hosting. From our initial consultation I could tell they would be great to work with. They helped me assess my menu for the crowd/time of event/occasion and picked out an appropriate menu. This is exactly what a professional catering company should be - someone that you won't have to worry about the day of the event. Cathy's team was trustworthy, easy to work with, and executed our event perfectly. I never had to give direction or answer questions. Where to start? Our wedding was passed hors d'oeuvres with several stations. My husband's family is Italian, and we asked for an anti pasta station, to include meats, cheeses, and fruit. We got a dinner plate on a table with some meats and olives drenched in oil. A small cheese plate was passed. I never saw any fruit. I let the caterer know well in advance we had a family (including flower girl) that was vegetarian, and I had hoped that a salad with cheeses and fruit would be plenty. Nobody touched the dinner plate of meats and olives, not even my husband's family. During our cake cutting (which, the cake came ROUND when I ordered SQUARE), after our first bites, I fed our flower girl a piece of the cake I had on my plate. Then I took another bite. There was a long PIN in my mouth that had been stuck in the cake to create the 'pin cushion' look! We looked at the rest of the cake and they were all PINS stuck throughout the cake! Clearly the baker had no clue about decorating with sugar decorations! My husband went back into the kitchen area and was deeply upset (rightly so), and let them know. We never heard from the caterer after the wedding, not a peep. She cashed the check and that was the end of that. read more

I was surprised to see that there were no reviews on here. This place is fabulous. The soup is incredible. I believe Cathy's has won the "soup"erbowl competition in Bethlehem each of the last 3 years. Their entrees are great and come with home grown vegetables. And they have amazing desserts. Very impressed with the catering. I utilized them for my son's 1st B-Day party at the America on Wheels museum back in February. They were spot on in their recommendations, burgers, Chicken Cordon-Blu Burgers, and vegan burgers to accommodate our vegan guests as well as tater tots & perogies (1950's soda fountain theme). They even told me not to order french fries & onion rings as they wouldn't hold up well in the chafing dishes. All interactions were completely professional, personable & friendly. Cathy's catered our wedding for 72 people. Renee was the head chef at our wedding and did an outstanding job! A very special thank you to her for going above and beyond! She made sure that we had appetizers in the kitchen when we arrived and drinks before we were announced to our guests. She also took the lead communicating with our DJ to make sure announcements were made about the meal and dessert being served. The food was amazing! The feedback I got from our guests was fantastic. The food was served buffet style. We chose to do mini cupcakes for dessert in about 10 different flavors and our guests loved them! We got to take home extra food at the end of the night as well. Brain was our bartender and he also was very friendly and did a great job as at our venue we had to supply all the drinks and alcohol. Throughout the night I asked him if we still had enough and he gave me the run down of what we had left which was a relief for me!
