We had Chef David & Staff cater a group of approximately 75 individuals this afternoon in the Family & Event Center of St. Thomas More RC Church, Salisbury Township. The planning process was seamless, timely and delicious, with a wide variety of offerings for anyone's taste. The brough the finished food, equipment, and servicing items they needed for the day. Their display was stunning and appetizing. After the meal they cleaned all the area they used and beyond. When they departed you would not know they had been there except for the few little deserts they left behind to be finished by the guests. Everything was 5 Stars! The only thing that I cautioned Chef David on was that if he is even with myself and my wife Linda, he makes the 2nd best meatball in the Lehigh Vally. I cannot say enough good things about Simply Smooth! David and his team are so professional and so talented! I contacted him to cater our wedding a little over two weeks from our event and he made it happen. Our consultation was so pleasantly easy even though we didn't have the clearest idea of what we wanted. David was able to take our vague ideas and make them into a wonderful menu that suited all of our 30 guests. On top of all that, David saved us all of 4 days before our event when the baker who had originally agreed to make our wedding cake basically went AWOL and stopped communicating with us. The baker he coordinates with was able to make our 3 tier wedding cake from scratch and not frozen even on that short of notice! And most importantly Simply Smooth's food was marvelous!!! They make everything fresh from quality ingredients and on site to boot and the food reflects that. Highly, highly, highly recommend Simply Smooth on that aspect of their business alone. All of our guests loved their meals and enjoyed the wonderful service provided from the lovely support staff as well. You absolutely get what you pay for from Simply Smooth. One last note- even on the day of our event, David and his team saved the day. The signature drink containers we had ordered online were defective and therefore not usable. Somehow even though that was realized VERY shortly before our event started they were able to materialize gorgeous drink dispensers for us! I'm not one that typically writes reviews but in this case it was well earned. We recently hired Simply Smooth for our son's wedding. The wedding venue was 2 hrs from our home and we were a little nervous finding a caterer out of town. Simply Smooth exceeded our expectations. My husband and I planned our wedding this summer during Covid, which was quite a journey. With PA rules changing constantly and many concerns about guest safety, Simply Smooth was extremely flexible and worked closely with us to take care of all the logistics of our wedding and rehearsal dinner. Simply Smooth was recommended by our venue (Rodale Institute) and David was great to work with and made us feel less stressed during an otherwise very stressful time. Everything went smoothly and the food was truly in another league compared to other wedding meals I've had (we especially loved the candied bacon, paella and mac & cheese). About a month ago I used Simply Smooth catering for my wedding and everything was almost perfect. During to planning there were a few minor blips, but everything worked out. Service: 5/5 I could not have asked for better service at the wedding. The bartender was awesome and made our drinks perfectly, with a great attitude. The waitstaff were also amazing. They treated my husband and I like royalty and seemed to keep water glasses filled and tables happy. Food: 4/5 since I did not get to taste is all I will go on my opinion if what I did taste, my husband's opinion and also what was raved about. I personally loved the jalapeño corn cakes, salad with pear, and roll. I also go the vegetarian main dish with was an acorn squash filled with grains, veggies, and smoked tofu. I did not love this the day if the wedding, which was a disappointment since I loved it at the tasting. I felt the flavors and veggies were different and my only expectation was that there would be the same flavors, simply with the addition of tofu. On that note, others that got the dish enjoyed it. The loss of the star is from the disconnect of what I tasted vs what I got that day. My husband enjoyed the chicken with apple chutney, garlic smashed potatoes, and green beans and he and everyone we spoke to enjoyed it all. The other things he tried the day of and loved were the candied bacon and bang bang shrimp,and he loved both. The guests also had the yellow velvet soup and spinach phyllo spanakopita and we were told all were excellent. Planning: 4/5 overall, planning went well. There were just a few minor issues. First, Laurin was late for our first meeting, but thereafter, no issues at all. Secondly, we had a martini signature drink and it was overlooked that we would need martini glasses. Other than that, everything was perfect. If I had another wedding, I would hire them again. We used them for tables, chairs, linens, bar, ceremony chairs, and food. Overall they did an excellent job. My main disappointment was my vegetarian meal. I was most happy with the service. Everything was timely and well executed. I hesitated on hiring Laurin and his team due to the last review, but I'm happy I did. read more

I was looking for a caterer and he came highly recommended, however after him being over 20 minutes late for our consultation with an unapologetic attitude we were happy to take our business else where. As a matter of fact he was so arrogant to say that he was glad we were not rescheduling with him. Too bad he didn't get to learn what our budget was. read more
