The team assigned to our wedding, led by Pam and Tracy, were so helpful in helping us set up the tables and table settings, and even all the chairs for the ceremony. I didn't expect a catering to service to take care of every little detail, but they did. They were attentive to our guests, making sure everyone that needed a drink had one and they did a great job making sure everything flowed from cocktail hour to dinner and on to the cake cutting. To add insult to injury, the white linens and seat cushions were oh so obviously stained and looked horrific - and the bridal suite had a broken AC on a 95 degree summer day, and was littered with filth, dirty cups, and completely unorganized from what i can only guess was a past event. The staff themselves were very pleasant and accommodating, but the owners need a huge attitude fix and a lesson or two in hospitality and anger management.

The French fry bar added a nice touch. The only drawback was the torrential rain that started and even that was handled professionally. None of the food was ruined. All the leftovers were brought inside so the guests could continue to nibble and they did a great job of cleaning up outside. I would totally recommend Moose and Goose for any outdoor event. Best. This historic location was a rest and play stop for literary and theater New Yorkers in the 20s and 30s and probably beyond -- check out the famous signatures and notes in the albums in the main living room. The owners keep a handful of rescued farm animals (pot-bellied pigs, mini ponies, goats), and it is clear they are well cared for. It is a busy place for big wedding events now, and so we like to stay during the week. It is very relaxing to walk around the grounds. We saw a giant heron in the pond and deer strolling. There are so many nice places to sit outside with a bottle of wine and a book or snacks. Rooms are very unique and comfortable. You have a lot of different personalities to choose from: lofts, cabins, barn spaces, etc. Many have jacuzzis which can provide your evening entertainment, lol. We have not eaten in the restaurant because our top restaurant on earth is very close by, but when it was closed, Josh gave us great recommendations. And he made a lovely tofu scramble for breakfast as a special request. One sweet touch: despite checking the room, we left without my spouse's expensive phone charger. Housekeeping found it and ran after us before we could drive off without it. She did not have to do that. Always tip your housekeeping staff. The extended Covid months have been very hard on inns, restaurants, and event spaces, and it must be stressful for them as things come back to life when so many events have been postponed. A lot of different flavor combinations (they like to do salé and sucré), beautiful plating, interesting textures, and good cooking techniques. My favorites were the octopus appetizer (so buttery soft and tender, which is a rarity) and the pheasant special, which was a pleasant and apropos surprise in this outdoor, country setting. Finally, this is a BYOB restaurant with perfectly selected wine glasses, fine silverware, and other special touches such as a freshly starched linens, etc. which elevate the dining experience.
