Having sought out their newer location in downtown Charlottesville only to find it not open on the…read moreday I visited, I decided to try this more strip-mall-y location on the north side of town and got some takeout. It was ready right on time. Physically, the very thin crust pizza and garlic bread I got did not have a lot of heft, and it felt like an awfully small portion size for the money overall. If anything, the single cannoli I got might have been richer and more filling than the half a pizza I hate. The flavor was solid, with a browned crust, a note of basil, and high quality cheese. Their interpretation of garlic bread was a pizza crust with a subtle garlic flavor and some more cheese, and I got a side salad as well with some ranch that did well as a dipper for the bread. Overall, I can think of a couple of places in the Charlottesville area where I've gotten similar pizza but felt more full for the money and been in a better location more in the old part of town. I still have the other location of this pizzeria on my list to try and that one offers square pizzas (this one does not), so it's likely that I'll give it a chance.

Slightly understandable if the place was packed but there was no one else there but me and a couple staff members eating lunch. The pizza was ok. Not bad, if it wasn't for the underwhelming service I would recommend it and still do w the caveat my service was subpar But Hey everyone has a bad day and maybe it was one of those for them. Though I would try not having a bad day on Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was a little dark but it was clean and spacious Though not many ppl there it didn't feel like seating/tables were on top of ppl where they were trying to pack in space for as many customers as possible. It sure I would go back if visiting Charlottesville there were other places that look good and had decent reviews. Saw a Detroit style restaurant that looked promising from the outside.

The tomato sauce, as well, said nothing besides just tomato sauce; and the meatballs were more balls than meat. I give two stars gladly for the help, who were just as polite as pizzeria pie, and talked all sorts of kindnesses to us from beginning to end.
