This is our FAVORITE pizza restaurant in Chattanooga. The pizza crust is perfectly crispy every time! The workers are always kind, and we're on a first name basis with all of them. The building is small but it's never cramp or busy enough to get super loud. I love the art they have on their walls. It's right next to AMC too, so perfect for date night. Make sure you have plenty of time before your movie though- The food takes some time to cook. read more

Let me tell yall something this place here was amazing. I was visiting Chattanooga and I love pizza so I had to try. First let me say the ambience was great to me there was nice worship/Christian music playing. I'm sure of the employees name but he was really nice and patient. He was even willing and able to talk about Jesus! I enjoyed my experience there and the pizza with cheesy with nice thin foldable crust. Visited NY Pizza recently, and I was left quite underwhelmed. While the establishment had a unique ambiance and friendly staff, the quality of the pizza fell short of expectations. Granted I did order 2 slices of the premade pizza and had toppings added. Not a whole pie made fresh. I ordered hoping for a delightful meal. Sadly, the pizza was just fair. The toppings, which were generous in quantity, arrived cold and seemed to be haphazardly thrown on. Many of them were falling off as I tried to eat, making for a less-than-enjoyable dining experience. Since it was not baked with the cheese on top the toppings were just loose The crust was decent, though it could have been less done for me. A little more care in preparation and ensuring toppings are evenly distributed and properly heated would go a long way in improving the overall quality. In summary, NY Pizza has potential but needs to refine its pizza-making process to provide a more satisfying dining experience. Hoping for improvements in the future. read more

I got this pizza for pick up so I didn't check out the environment just gotta say that first. This is for sure a NY pizza slice, great undercarriage as well as a crispy crunchy crust. The flop is minimal, not too floppy not too stiff. Cheese to sauce ratio seemed on point. The chicken felt a bit bland but it did the job well. Beef is great as well lots of savory flavor. The pepperoni was greasy and absolutely punchy with its flavor which complimented the slice quite well. The mozzarella tastes really good. Tomato sauce does its job to complement the mozz. Definitely going to this spot when I need some good NY style pizza in the area. This probably beats downtown community pie right now but is very slightly below prime downtown community pie if ykyk. 8.3 out of 10 will eat again! read more

This place is legit. Someone with a deep love for pizza plopped this gem down in the place you'd least expect to find authentic pie. My dining companion and I sought refuge for a late Wednesday lunch during a minor family emergency and this place revealed itself as the best option. 1. The pizza is honest-to-Pete New York style. Expansive slices, crisp crust with the right amount of chew, perfectly proportioned toppings. No notes. 2. Calzone was on point. Delicious, generously sized, heated up perfectly in an air fryer the next day. 3. Meatball sub was well-enjoyed by my table mate. I can't comment further, other than to say that this kid is partial to meatball subs and deemed it "good" with a thumb high up. 4. The restaurant itself is newly remodeled and very pleasant, on the dark and moody side. Which TBH I prefer. 5. Pricing was fair and ordering was easy and modern. You wanna talk to a person? Done. I grew up on Long Island and this is the best NY pizza in Chattanooga. A regular cheese slice is great and a "grandma" slice is amazing. Fluffy crust and delicious sauce. A reheated slice will give you a little crispy which I prefer. If sandwiches are your thing try the Italian sub. It's awesome. read more

Thoroughly the best calzone I've ever had in three states. Welcoming manager with nice dark lighting made this one of the best places I've been. You have to understand though I straight up used my bare hands while pouring marinara over it. Fresh made late at night it was the best I've ever had. I live up the block and I've been dying for some new haven style coal oven pizza but there is none of that around here so I've been trying to see what's good in the area and to my surprise here was a place where I could get a slice and was close. I took a slice out to my car to eat it and that's when I realized that the good Lord had blessed me once again. I had to go back in for another slice to take with me. I plan on going back again tonight. The inside is great, a place that's cozy to sit alone and eat in and the reg slice of cheese was greater than the sum of its parts. Being originally from New York City, I'm always on the lookout for authentic NY style Neapolitan pizza, and this place delivers! The crust was excellent - just the right thickness to fold over (which is the only proper way to eat pizza!), with perfect leapording that you can get only in a brick oven. The amount of toppings was sufficient although not overly generous, the cheese was just right, and there was enough oil on each slice that it dripped off when you picked it up, which is how it should be. I tried both the pepperoni and the meatball toppings; the pepperoni was perfect in every way, but I wasn't a fan of their meatball - I wouldn't order it again. (But...that's just me. You might like it.) The atmosphere was classic pizzeria style, with comfortable booths and large murals of NYC scenes on the walls, including one of the Brooklyn Bridge, which I used to walk over to and from work in the Wall St. area, weather permitting; it was a nice, nostalgic touch. By all indications this place has everything going for it that should make it a huge success, with one exception: the pricing. I don't know where the owners are from, but this is Chattanooga, not NYC. A basic slice is $4, with each additional topping an additional 75 cents. They have a "deal" with 2 slices and a drink for $10, but add 75 cents per slice for a topping and you're looking at $11.50! Compare that with NYC, where not only is the cost of living much higher, but so are the salaries. I checked with some friends in NYC, and the current average pricing in Brooklyn is $3.00-$3.25 for a plain slice; 50 cents for an additional topping. In Manhattan it's $3.00-$3.75 for a plain slice; 75 cents to $1 for an additional topping. On Long Island $8.99 will get you two slices WITH A TOPPING and a refillable drink. I repeat: the cost of living and salaries are both considerably higher there than they are here in the South, so why is the pizza more expensive here, when everything else is much cheaper? An 18" pie for $18 ($2.50 per extra topping) is a bit more reasonable since you get 8 slices, but that's not doing a single person who wants a quick lunch any good. Would I go there again? Yes, definitely, but whereas with more reasonable pricing I'd be there at least once a week, being retired - and what with inflation and the economy being on the verge of collapse - it's not likely I'd go more than once a month. (Fortunately, I make an excellent homemade pizza, but I can't get the classic Neapolitan crust with that lovely leapording in a home oven.) I suspect they'd do a lot more business if the prices were lower. Given the economies of scale and considering that certain fixed costs (rent, equipment, etc.) wouldn't change, selling more pizza - albeit at a lower price - would ultimately result in higher profits. Incidentally, they have a "gold pizza" on the menu for $1,000. As the name implies, it's covered with 24K gold leaves (which are tasteless) on top. Again citing the present state of the economy I doubt they'll sell any, but if you can afford to throw away $1,000 on a pizza, let me tell you what you can do instead to make yourself feel like a million bucks even after the pizza would be long gone: Give $950 to the food bank, and get yourself a 24" pie for $24. Head on over to Amazon, where $23 will get you 96 sq. inches of 24K edible gold leaf, which is what's used for decoration on things such such as pizza, steak, or cakes.. (BONUS: You can cut it into any shapes you want that would be befitting a special occasion, or simply hearts for a special someone.) Gold wouldn't add anything to the flavor, but knowing a bunch of kids aren't going to bed hungry because of you should - if you have any kind of heart - put a smile on your face and bring a satisfaction to your soul that won't fade away. read more
