For our final two nights in Prague, we lived the high life and stayed at the Boscolo. I am not fancy enough to stay here or eat at their restaurants or bars....but when in Rome, or...rather...Prague, treat yo'self!
New York Cafe is the main restaurant and bar right off the Boscolo lobby. We had a buffet breakfast included with our reservation, so we had the pleasure of enjoying the breakfast twice. It is an ENORMOUS and impressive buffet. There is food on tables surrounding the main dining and bar area, as well as all along the entire center bar. There are some made-to-order options, as well as pre-made/prepared food. It was vast and it was delicious. Not everything was marked, either in Czech or English. Take a chance, try something new! I was not disappointed!
On our final night Prague, after an opera dinner and before going to bed for our early wake up time, we decided to get one last drink at the hotel bar. In the evening, the brushed metal bar is lit with blue lights and is inviting to offer you a fancy cocktail. I got one of the signature cocktails and it was delicious. The bartender was new, but was doing a good job learning the drinks and talking with patrons of the bar. After hearing that we had taken a day trip to Karlovy Vary/Carlsbad and hadn't had the chance to try the local liquor Becherovka, he insisted we had to try some before we flew home and gave us each a little sip of some.
Each visit was lovely, although I think the evening bar visit was my favorite time, as the atmosphere fits the time and space better. But if you are staying at the Boscolo, don't pass over the New York Cafe just because it is the hotel restaurant. It's a good one! read more
