I needed A LOT of dental work done, and this is why i felt the best thing for me to do was visit multiple offices to make the best decision to start this lengthy process. I visited New Vision Dental, and i have to say Karina and Edgar made a great impression on me!!! Like I said i had a lot to get done so I had to see everyone quite a lot, and each and every time it was beyond pleasant. They always answered all my questions, called and checked on me after every visit to make sure i was doing okay after any procedure. I had Dr. Tran as my dentist and one thing i did really appreciate about him is he always made sure i was comfortable and not experiencing pain. That's the exact type of dentist i prefer!!! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! They charge you a mandatory oral cancer "screening" which you cannot opt out of and is required every 6 months. And if you don't agree to accept this screening and pay, they won't see you. This type of screening uses a special device that shines light to identify cancerous tissue. No such device was used on me so they falsely charged me for a service they did not perform. Of all my years of faithfully going to the dentist for my routine cleaning and checkups, I've NEVER had to do or pay for this type of screening, especially since it's not REQUIRED. This place wants to fleece you as much as possible. You're not a client or patient. You're just a dollar sign to them. This is sad because the actual dentist is nice. Way overpriced when it comes to fees: They charge on the higher end when you brake a bracket, ($75.00) while other dentist charge a reasonable fee or don't charge at all. Today was my husband's and my first appointment with Dr. AU. The office was clean and neat. The receptionist was not friendly or welcoming. She was snippy and curt, snapping instructions on how to fill out the paperwork. We have a $0 co-pay for cleaning and x-rays. She informed us we have a $55 (each) co-pay for a "caries screening". Isn't that what the x-ray and Dental exam is for? When we informed her we didn't want that she said it is mandatory every 6 months. She then informed us that they wouldn't see us if we didn't pay. To make it worse, they are not corporate to send my x-ray to another dental office, although they were paid for that X-ray from my insurance Delta Dental PPO. If I could give zero stars I would. I was at this dental office for the first time last year. Needed a new crown and in a little over a year it cracked. Went in on 11/20/2019 and the front desk person, Karina, was absolutely horrible. Lots of attitude and argumentative. I asked to see the doctor and he came out explaining why I needed an X-ray even though I told Karina I had one done at my new dentist, and no, I didn't have it with me. I have issues with getting X-rays of my teeth in the back. She continued being antagonistic in front of the doctor who didn't stop her. I told him she's the reason I'm no longer a patient. She started to say something about my husband, and I walked out. 11/21/19 I spoke with the Operations Director Angelica today and she heard my concerns and is doing everything she can to resolve my issues with the Glendora office. They are going to replace the cracked crown at no charge and I requested that she address their front office personnel in the Glendora office. I have every confidence that she will. Every person I've spoke with at the S. Pasadena office have been helpful and very professional. 12/04/19 I went in to my appointment to make a mold for my new crown and get a temporary crown. Angelica came through with ensuring I would not have to deal with Karina. Dario and Dr. Tran were pleasant to work with and I got what I needed without any issues. Thank you Angelica for all that you have done to right a very wrong experience. 12/18/19 I had to go back in to get my permanent crown. That experience went very well with Dr. Tran and Lynne. I am still hesitant in switching back because of Karina. Angelica was fantastic in facilitating my return follow up visits but I don't feel comfortable returning to this office because of Karina. Update: (5/25/17) Today I got both my wisdom teeth removed and things went super smooth! I was terrified that I was going to have a panic attack because of my anxiety but Dr.Au eased my fears. As he worked on my teeth, he explained what he was doing and kept asking if I was in pain or if I needed a break. They even kept my parents updated on what was going on while they were waiting for me. Everything went smoothly and I was out within an hour and a half. They went over the instructions on how to clean my teeth for the next few days, what I could and couldn't eat and if I had any issues to not hesitate and call. This is an easy review for me! We love Dr. Au at New Vision Dental! We have been a patient of his for years at another location. And this past visit, I realized I had not given him a Review for the Glendora office. Just as Yelp says "5* is Whoohoo! As good as it gets!" And that is Dr. Au and his staff. Besides a great bedside manor. He really cares for his patience's and remembers us. This visit, was for an emergency for my crown that had fallen out. He came into the office on his off time so I could have him re-cement my crown in for me. The office is nice and clean and very comfortable. The office staff - wonderful! My children and I came in for a cleaning fairly harmless. Dario and the other dental hygienist were awesome with my kids. The did X-rays and a cleaning and showed them how to brush to be more effective as well as flossing. Dario was kind and very informative. Dario did my X-rays and cleaning, and Dr Tran did my check up. I told Dario about a sensitive area on a couple of my teeth and told me to use a soft toothbrush and some Senodyne toothpaste and how to use the new toothpaste the proper way. My entire family has been to his office and we are all happy with Dr Au and his work and his overall energy. I typically am horrified of going to the dentist, but when my friend told me that this place was gentle and friendly. I decided to give it a try and to my surprise, Dr. Au was very knowledgeable and would explain every step of the way and that made me feel more comfortable because I actually knew what was going on. I truly enjoy coming to this dental office. Doctor Au and the staff are the best. I've been coming here for the past 6 years and every time I come, they welcome me with a smile and a nice greeting. Of course, having an HMO is not better than PPO. I currently have an HMO and my co-payments can be high depending how extensive my work is. I personally think that many people who have HMO can be upset once they learn that HMO is not the best insurance to have. The good thing is that this office will go over the cost based on your dental health needs before any treatment is done. I really appreciate that this office is very thorough on this aspect. I have been to this dentist for a total of 4 visits over 1 1/2 years. Love their front desk for always remembering my name and always accommodating to my fluctuating schedule. The Dentist is Ok. He had difficulty numbing one of my tooth for a root canal and I will not say the procedure was painless but he got the job done but the color match for the tooth was not great. you can tell a root canal was done. However, this is where my ok experience ends. Since my dental procedures at this office my tooth to tooth contact became extremely tight. I had brought it up several times but they blamed it on my wisdom teeth shifting. Seems impossible as my teeth were easy to floss prior to 1 single procedure and extremely difficult to Floss after. I recently became a Cash patient and I paid $209 for my last visit and this is what I got- Dental consultation, 4 bite X ray, tooth polish and Fluoride (which i did not ask for). I attempted to get my X ray sent to another Dentist and for my own records. They will charge $85 for them to send the X ray. When I asked they said that $50 price does not include the X ray. If I wanted them I had to pay for them. If another Dental office attempted to get them They will charge $85. (I did not pay for it) Also that $75 Fluoride which I did not ask, the other office charges $20 and they ask before they apply. This time my cleaning ($80) was subpar, my last hygienist cleaned every tooth, and took her time this time it took her 7min to polish and floss. Oh and why does this office have great reviews, its cause they office their patients a special little something if you leave them a good review. I know Cause i was one of them. So if you are a Cash patient go elsewhere this office lacks transparency. If you want a 2 star experience this is a perfect office for you but if you expect great Dental work, keep looking read more

Worst place I've ever been, the X-ray lady didn't speak English and took 45 min to do the X-rays.....and she even did them wrong I had to have then redone. My feeling came out my tooth and I just wanted it put back in or refilled. Nope he said I needed a root canal. Total price over 3,000. The Dr. Changed his comment so please do yourself a favor and look at my pictures and read what he really wrote. It's unbelievable!!!!!!!! Similar experience as everyone else here. Scam artists! Went here last year for a check-up and cleaning. Had a bad feeling about the place as soon as I walked in - new equipment, new furniture, new HD TVs to show you where you have cavities, etc. - the money to pay for all this stuff is coming out of SOMEONE'S pocket. By the time my visit was done I knew it was the customer's. Got an x-ray and the dentist said I had 6 cavities...really? The 24 year old who hasn't had a cavity since he was a kid has 6 cavities? Is that a fact? Shortly thereafter they walked me into an office and said I needed a mouthguard ($200 out of pocket) and some gel ointment because my gums were bleeding ($300 out of pocket). Really? Ointment for my bleeding gums? Maybe if the dentist hadn't been so rough with his "deep cleaning" my gums wouldn't have bled in the first place. Isn't it convenient that I just so happen to need all the work that my insurance doesn't cover...hmmm. Oh, by the way, I have a Blue Cross 90/10 dental plan. You guys must be stupid to think I would be willing fork over $500 just because you say I need something. That's why I have insurance! Sure enough I left that day and never went back. A few weeks later I went to my usual dentist, Dr. Tam, who is awesome, and he said ZERO cavities. What a surprise. Needless to say this place still calls me and leaves me voice messages saying I'm due for a "check-up". They must be dying for customers with the hodge podge operation they have going. Doing such a terrible job on my son that he was crying in pain and asking to leave.
