Spot on with the brews and food! We stopped at Land & Sea for lunch on our way to Port Hardy. The…read moreinterior is really west coast vibes, high ceilings with a canoe above with wooden accents. We managed to snag a bar table outside in the sunshine and got down to business. It is so rare to see a pickle dip on a menu and being a pickle obsessed connoisseur (yes I've been to pickle fest) I had to order it as an appy. My husband and I devoured it in about 5 mins. Great choice to pair with a salty ripple chip! For our mains, I got the oven baked chicken wings which I give full props on the crunch factor for an oven baked wing. My only qualm was the hot sauce was more like a sweet salsa. Totally fine if that's your vibe but I would maybe rebrand it as abit like a sweet salsa over a hot sauce. When I think wings and hot sauce, I'm thinking something more like a Franks. I also was thrilled when our server asked if I wanted it on the side as the wings stay even crispier if you put the sauce on after and I was so happy she shared this as it was a great reco. My husband ordered the corn nachos and holy moly these were delicious. Amazing amount of toppings and great melted cheese ratio to chip. Slam dunk on these! I would go back simply for these! On the beer side we both loved the Foeder Vienna Lager - so delish. And I loved that they carry Nonnys as I love a good non alc option!

The pale ale was like a light IPA which is really nice, because sometimes you just want a ... lighter IPA, you know? The red ale was like a light stout, also nice because sometimes you just want a ... lighter stout, you know? The stout was smoky and creamy. The food was solid too. Favorite was grilled peach salad. That was great. The contents of the pork taco was good. The tortilla could have used a few seconds on a hot plate or griddle. Heating it up can really do wonders to lame, store bought tortillas. The apple, blue cheese and walnut tart was the sort of dish that a meat eater would be like, eh, nice quiche, but I bet vegetarians love that they made an effort to prepare something thoughtful and interesting and delicious for them. The meatballs were good too, although among the 4 things we ordered, the most ordinary. Staff were wearing masks. Capacity was limited. There was hand sanitizer at the door. All appreciated. Great place! I'll eat here again if I ever come back to Campbell River. Oh, also, cool swag section! The fancy growlers were tempting.

But holy hell this carrot cake is prob the best slice of carrot cake I've ever had, whoever is baking back in the kitchen is a total rockstar. This cake is moist flavourful, the nuts are a great add and the icing isn't too sweet it's simply perfect. We were shocked at how this blew us away. As for the beers my hubby got 2 that he thought were pretty good but I wasn't drinking and ordered their homemade ice tea and omg they did it again, so shockingly good! Just the right amount of citrus and great tea flavour. The over atmosphere inside is just okay but the service is attentive and all in all we were pleasantly surprised by how delicious our few items were!

I got a flight of the glowing embers ale, kelp stout, dark lager, and spruce tree ale. Dark beers are usually my favourite, but my favourite out of this batch might have actually been the glowing embers, which was described as a candied smoked ale. The caramelly/smoky combination was great. The kelp stout was interesting - I found it had a slightly vegetal finish but wasn't overtly kelpy. If you like stouts, you'll probably like this. All the beers were very enjoyable. The spruce tree ale and kelp stout are probably the two to try if you want something uniquely local. The Japanese street food truck outside was also fantastic! You can grab food from them and bring it inside the brewery. They also have bar snacks (pretzels, chips) inside. The building is cool. There are front and back patios, a spacious main floor, and a hidden, cozier second floor. The bartender that served me was very friendly. I noticed that the staff was very diligent about clearing tables inside but not so much outside, I saw a table on the patio that had abandoned empty glasses sitting on it when I went out to pick up my food truck order and still there when I left.

Amazing spot for a few drinks. The patios were great and a cozy ambiance. The service was super…read morefriendly and laid back. Bar service was very happy to recommend a few things for our tastes and we got to try some great beers. Aside from the experience I love the commitment this brewery has to sustainment with water care initiatives, partnering with farms to use their spent grain and leveraging hydro power.
