I'll start with the positives. Staff is friendly and the building itself is unique. Good selection of motor clothes and HD stuff. Average bike inventory, guessing what was outside is moved out there weather permitting because no way they fit that on the show room floor. Now the negatives. Was traveling in the area when my 2024 Road Glide broke down, don't need to go into specifics, on Saturday 5/16. Called in and spoke with Haylee, she was friendly and with which ever tech was on that, they did their best to help over the phone. No offer of a tow was given even though it was not needed. I did inform her that would be dropping the bike off Tuesday morning, their next day they are open, and that I would already be a day late getting home at that point. Fast forward to Tuesday morning. Haylee gets my bike checked in and informs me that there was a cancellation so someone would be able to get to my bike soon. Side note, the gentleman that checked in before me was a waiter appointment, this is important in a moment. 6 hours go by and no contact from service. I call and ask for an update. Was informed that no one has touched my bike yet. Was told again, they would get to it soon. This is where the waiter appointment comes in, what happened to that technician or did that waiter appointment wait 6 hours for a recall check and possible some other minor work? For those that don't know, most dealerships won't make waiter appointments for major work, I know this from working with a local dealership and my wife's 7 years experience as a service writer for two different HD dealerships. Fast forward again to 5:30 PM, 30 minutes before the dealership closes. Still no call from them, so once again I call. Bike is on the lift and the tech is pulling codes. I asked to speak to the service manager and express my disappointment in their lack of prioritizing a traveling rider. He claims that all 6 of the technicians were busy all day and could not pulled off the job they were working on. This was their first day back to work after 2 days off and my bike was there at opening. A tech could have been reassigned to my bike before they began work on whatever was still on their lift or starting a new job. This was done several times at our dealership in PA. Told the service manger to call me by 10:00 AM the following morning to provide an update. 9:57 the following morning, he calls. Starts going over what they have found. I informed him to stop all work and that I would be there in a few hours to pick up my bike. With an hourly rate of $140, I did not want them to do any more than what they had done which is significant because when I dropped the bike off it was at least able to start, run and had throttle response. Upon pick up, the bike barely started, had no throttle response and shut off within 30 seconds. This is only positive about this whole experience. Went in close the work order and get the list of codes that were pulled. I was not charged for "2 hours" of labor. Unfortunately, this experience will not have me returning to New River HD upon my yearly visits to the area for anything. Secondly, my brother, fellow rider with several friends and colleagues that ride, local business with multiple connections will no longer recommend New River HD either. Hoping the service manager learns from this and does better in the future with managing his team in meeting the needs of traveling riders. read more

IM super please with the service Department at New River HD, they have serviced my Electra Glide twice now and have gone above and beyond with their service, diagnostics and repair skills. Best Harley Dealer I have been to. The sales, service and parts staff are top and always there to talk to and help. They have done an outstanding job servicing my bike, new tires, new parts and helping with upgrades. John, Miguel, Dave and Matt are good people. Great place to go just to look around too. This review is about an event that I briefly attended today at the Harley Davidson store. It was a chili cookoff with various vendors. I drove up trying to park in the lot when I was approached by a young kid telling me that even though I am a handicapped veteran I could not park there. So I drove down to the second lot behind the store and walked up with my dog Raven in tow. We weren't there that long when a big explosion went off and it unnerved me and scared Raven to death. I concentrated on trying to calm her so she wouldn't know how much it upset me too. I headed straight for the front door of the store when I asked the man sitting at a table to my right if he worked there. He responded "yes" and sensing by my tone I was not happy. I asked him if he knew about the explosion that just went off outside. He said that was a cannon and I asked why in the name of Heaven is anyone shooting a cannon? He just gave me a dumb look and said I don't know they're just doing what they are supposed to be doing. I just told him that I am a war vet and that explosion bothered me and scared my dog. I added that it was bad form not to warn anyone about such an event would be taking place and I left. read more

Wow. What a great experience!! I came to NC on a vacation and to see the town where I was born. Both my younger brother and I were born on Camp Lejeune. Camp Lejeune has a Harley Shop and I tried to get on the base to buy myself a hat. Due to heightened security, there was no way I was going to be allowed on the base. So I called and went to New River Harley Davidson. New River has some Harley shirts with Camp Lejeune on them but no hats. So I was talking to Carlene about wanting a hat and not being able to get on the base. She excused herself and make a quick call. She came back and told me that the store on the base was going to photograph the hats and send pics. We could choose the hat and they would have it at the store the next day. We were leaving town before then. She said, "No Problem, we'll ship it." In a matter of minutes she received the message on her cell phone, we made our selection, she rung it and my shirt up and we were on our way. The hat is now going to be shipped to me and I will receive it a day or two after I get home from my vacation. This was an EXCELLENT example of great customer service. So many times you hear, "Sorry, that's all we have." But in this case Carlene went above and beyond the call of duty. And some may think that it's just a hat, but to this writer, it's one of the most important hats I have ever purchased and I would have no other way to get it. If you are considering buying a motorcycle I HIGHLY recommend you go anywhere but here!!! I'm not one to leave a negative review, but this is so worth the time and effort. My husband found a Harley through a private seller that was a steal of a deal. The guy was from 2 hours west of us and is an OTR truck driver. Because he travels so much he suggested we do a rider to rider transaction through Harley to eliminate the headache of trying to be in all the right places at all the right times throughout the process. Mind you this was a cash deal where we were just paying off the balance of the seller's loan. When we called Harley they said it would cost $500 to handle it, fine. The seller offered to split that and we agreed. The next day my husband went up there and was presented with a balance owed of nearly $1400 more than was agreed upon. While talking to me about how best to make this work the salesman, Miguel, took it upon himself to call the seller and tell him my husband no longer wanted to purchase the bike and offered him the original amount we agreed upon!! When my husband called Miguel back, to ask who to make the cashier check to, Miguel told him it was too late because he already bought it. I'm not ignorant to snakes, but a "reputable" business should not play this DIRTY! I was so unbelievably angry and my husband was devastated. He had took the money from his 401k to purchase his dream bike and this a-hole pulled some fast ones. Long story short I talked to the owner Jon and threatened to hire ANY of our attorney friends to make sure they NEVER do this again to anyone. I threatened to go to the media and to contact Harley Davidson Corporation and let them know how this business handles customers. Jon had Miguel withdraw his purchase but, instead of punishing the snake, he punished us and the seller. He opted to wash his hands of the entire transaction and the seller had to come back to meet my husband at the bank. This dealership will NEVER EVER get our business, not even for service related work. So, if you go here just be warned. They will find a way to do you dirty, no matter who you are or how much business and events you bring them or help with. ESPECIALLY stay away from Miguel. In discussing our situation there were many we've worked with who knew who he was because they were wronged by him as well. read more

I can't say enough about this dealership. I've had nothing but phenomenal customer service from every department I've dealt with; sales, clothing, service, and parts. They have gone above expectations on so many of my visits. Have they made a mistake? Yes. One phone call treating them with respect and they resolved the issue free of charge in a very timely manner. We will make mistakes as humans and that's ok; they make right as a business to resolve the issue. Also as humans we are quick to bring up the negative and not shed light on the positive. A 3.0 overall review from the masses is not reflective of this dealership and the great team that works there. I had been riding metric bikes for years, and finally bought my first Harley from Don at New River HD. Not only did he NOT pressure me, he just said "Find what you like, and we'll make it happen for ya'..." ...and he did. I took home my Dyna that day, and kept it for a few years before getting the itch again... I sold the Dyna, and went back a few months later and fell in love with a Softail on the used line. After marinating on it for about 20 minutes, I jumped. Told Don again it was what I wanted, and took it home! I bought both bikes at really good prices (cheaper than individuals were asking on Craigslist, eBay, or Lejeuneyardsales) and couldn't be happier. Couldn't be happier with Vince and Becky in service. While out riding the Outer Banks via San Antonio Texas, I noticed multiple cracks in my rear tire. I mentioned it to the other 6 riders with me and another bike had the same cracks in their Dunlop 407 rear tire. We showed up at 0830 Tuesday morning, they open at 0900, hoping they could replace the tires. Vince was skeptical that he could make it work for two weary travelers with tires that couldn't make it home with those tires. Vince explained that he had bikes waiting over a month for service and it might not be possible to take care of ours. Luckily, there were 2 customers waiting inline behind us that had scheduled service and both told Vince to give us their slots. Without their kindness and Vince's willingness to help we wouldn't be over half way back to Texas right now. I want to thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to read this letter of appreciation on my most recent service experience at your New River Harley Davidson Dealership in Jacksonville, NC. Being an active duty Marine that deploys to a combat theater on a regular basis there is no better feeling than when I walk into the dealership knowing things are done right the first time. By no means is this a one-time occurrence; I continue to receive amazing service on a regular basis. I'm an active Harley rider and have managed to rack up about 30k miles in the past 3 years between deployments. I have purchased two Harley's from Jon Arnn at the New River Dealership and continue to refer fellow Marines on a regular basis. The reason for this letter is to recognize the exceptional service I received during my last combat deployment from the dealership while storing my motorcycles at the New River Location. Prior to deploying, I talked with the head mechanic Stacy Byrd about doing some engine modifications on my 2015 Street Glide and my 2016 Roadster. After approximately 30 hours of educating me over a three-month period on the different levels and types of engine modifications, I asked Byrd if he would install the Stage IV Street Shredder Kit on both bikes. In addition to having him complete the modification, I asked him to make any changes or upgrades which he felt would improve the performance and prolong the life of the motorcycles. Three months prior to re-deploying in December, I contacted Becky Osborne and Micah Adams in the service department to start the work. Shortly after talking to them on the phone, I started receiving emails on a regular basis giving me updates on each bike. Knowing this was their standard I felt like they had gone above and beyond knowing my current situation. It helped streamline the process and it was greatly appreciated. I have always been satisfied and felt 110% comfortable trusting them to complete the work without a final estimate. I asked him to build the bikes as if they were his personal motorcycles without a budget! This is not something I have ever done in the past; however, this demonstrates the level of trust and confidence I have in this specific dealership. During the process, Becky would send status updates to include final pictures upon completion. I returned from deployment approximately 6 weeks ago and had the opportunity to put about 2k miles on my Street Glide during a trip to Florida and 700 miles locally on the Roadster. With that being said I have not had any mechanical issues with either bike to date. I cannot thank Byrd and the entire dealership enough. Looking back on the overall experience and service which I have received I honestly can't make any recommendations on areas to improve in the service at the New River location. This is the second or third time we have been to New River Harley. Each time we will spend 30 minutes in the store walking around and looking and not a single person has come up to us to offer help or see if we need anything. We plan on spending our Harley money at a different place. read more

Service center is absolutely terrible. I would give them less than 1 star but that's not an option. My husband needed his rear rim and tire replaced which was covered under the wheel and tire protection warranty. We called multiple times to make sure his rim and tire would be covered, and Harley confirmed it would be. We also confirmed this when we dropped the bike off over a month ago. However, after Harley had the bike for a couple weeks, they told us the warranty does not cover the issue. It also took them over two weeks to send the new rim to be powder coated. We called multiple times to make sure the bike would be finished by May 25, only to have them continuously say it would be done "by tomorrow." Come to find out on May 25 that it was not done, and they hadn't even started on the bike yet. My husband took the parts and the bike to do it himself and took the bike to another shop to have the wheel bearings put on. We asked at Harley, but they couldn't even take 5 min to put the wheel bearings on themselves. We basically paid $1000 for the parts and for the bike to sit at Harley for over a month. Oh and they also left his bike with a dead battery. I would not recommend this shop to anyone, even my worst enemy. read more

I was excited years ago when this place first opened because we were getting a snazzy harley shop in town. That was the last time i felt good about the place. The folks who work there are decent enough and the parts and service counter are pretty good to go. I am not a big fan of the selling, trading of bikes with them. I have never purchased a bike from them because they seem unwilling to work with you. They appear to have the thought that if you won't buy the bike, then the guy right behind you will. I think this place is only here because young Marines come home from deployment with some cash and want a bike and don't know about shopping around. There are better prices to be had elsewhere. The owner of this shop also owns the one in Wilmington and another a little further south. They all seem to have the same ideology. read more

I work for a HD Dealer and am a lifetime HOG member, a while back while visiting J-ville I popped into NRHD for a tee shirt as I wanted one with an Osprey on it, too different. So I make my selection and proceed to the checkout, I make my pleasantries and inquire if they would offer me a professional or HOG discount for my purchase well in a word NO. C'mon you guys get a grip y'all rednecks can't afford 2 bucks for good will gesture. Bite me for anything in the future. Just moved in the area and saw this shop on way down to Wilmington and said 'I must stop and check it out'. But after seeing these reviews I'm sure I'm going to be disappointed and or saying WTH. so my wife and i just bought a house in New Bern NC. and thought we would stop by the harley shop in Jacksonville . what a joke this place is , we walked in and no one even said hello. most of the bikes were the owners from what i was told by someone in the parking lot , i even stopped a salesman and asked a question and got a real short answer as he kept walking away,.. we have been to atleast 100 different dealerships across the country and have to say this is hands down the worst one yet. i would not recomend this place to anyone , read more

In my personal experience with buying vehicles or motorcycles to be specific. New River Harley Davidson is the worst dealership I've ever had the unfortunate honor of visiting. The sales personnel of New River Harley, one man in perticuller is the most rude and unprofessional salesman I've ever experienced. I was quoted one price for my trade on one day and the very next day not even 24hrs later that price had dropped more than $1500. They try to use bully tactics to pressure you into buying a bike informing you that the price they give you is good for that day only so you must buy immediately. These people are snakes in the grass and In my opinion are out to take advantage of any unknowing soul. They are just pathetic and I would ask that given New River Harley's location any present or former Marines please take your biusness elsewhere you'll be happy you did. read more
