This review is looong overdue but New Mom School completely changed my life. I did both the newborn class and the rising toddler class with my daughter. My only regret is not taking the infant series! This class connected me with the most amazing support system when I needed it most and I still talk to those moms every day. The classes taught me so much and I left feeling a lot more confident as a mom. I experienced a lot of postpartum anxiety with my daughter and this class was what helped me most out of anything. I loved my experience so much I ended up bringing this to Las Vegas. Becca the owner, is such a lovely teacher and makes you feel so safe and comfortable. I joined the 2nd time moms class and the program was even better than I remembered! The owner, Becca, is incredibly welcoming, engaging, and funny. She makes every class unique and enjoyable. But you gain so much more beyond the classroom - you get to meet other women in the same season of life who genuinely want to make friends, so everybody is very open to sharing and getting to know each other. I was recommended to Shelly and the new Mom school by my pelvic floor therapist. I am so glad that I got in contact with her! Shelly was very helpful in helping me find what class worked for me and had great positive energy. I initially came in for the lactation group on Fridays, and it was so helpful. There were 2 lactation consultants that would do weighted feeds and helped the moms with breastfeeding and pumping questions. All of the moms brought their babies with them, and there was a circle of floor chairs for all of the moms and babies. I gained so many amazing tips, and it was a really great environment with other moms. This space is really beautiful and comforting, and I would definitely go back for other groups. There are two rooms, make sure you go to the correct room for your group. The environment feels really supportive and safe, it's nice to be around other moms in the same stage. Make sure to sign up for the classes ahead of time so they can get a proper count. read more

I am a new mom school alum from both the newborn class and the 3-6 month class. Becca was my instructor for both classes. My son and I also attended a drop-in playgroup during the summer. To say New Mom School is just a school is an understatement. It is a supportive environment for new (and experienced) moms alike. I attended a an event that NMS was partnered with and received a $100 off coupon and after seeing the total price of the infant class, I figured it would be worth it to enroll. Having gone through the class, I find that it is very much well worth the cost. Having expert speakers come and having new mamas to share your experience with is so helpful. We are all going through it together. I like that we met weekly, at the same time and with the same mamas. It really helped foster a community and friendship with the little babes. We even have meetups several months later. As a friend put it- the newborn class focuses on the mama and the 3-6 class focuses more on baby. I am even doing this next class with a friend I made from the first class since we had our second babies the same time. I highly highly recommend the New Mom School. I took classes after both my children were born, and I am so thankful for this program. After I had my first son and was adjusting to mom life, I was so grateful to have a reason to leave the house and meet with other women who were going through the exact same thing! When my son was a littler older (about a year) I returned for the play group classes, and that was super fun for the kiddos & moms! The facility itself is beautiful, and the center it's in is so convenient. A lot of moms go for coffee or lunch after class. When I had my second child, I signed up for the Second Time Mom's class and it was equally amazing! I made lifelong friends, and we still chat and plan get togethers all the time. Being a new mom I signed up for several series of these mommy and me classes. It was the best investment I ever made. My baby and I have made life friends that I will always cherish. I can't rave about this school enough, it is the best one and I tried a few other options. The learning material is priceless and the teachers are wonderful. They kept the classroom very clean and the curriculum always on point with what we were experiencing with out toddlers. They are very helpful with questions and it's a great place to express how your feeling and get advice on what you and your baby are going through. 1000% recommend!! We just finished the newborn class and already signed up for the next series. I was really hesitant at signing up at first because of my anxiety and just not being sure of what to expect. I also wasn't sure if I would fit in with the other Mom's or if it would end up being "clicky." Well, this class exceeded my expectations. Our teacher, Liz, was amazing and so sweet. The other women in class were also so kind and open with their struggles and wins they were going through with a newborn. We had moms from San Clemente to Long Beach in our class. I'm sure the classes can greatly differ depending on the group you get, but even if you just focus on the classes themselves, they cover GREAT material! Multiple specialists come in over the weeks and give great lessons and advice for surviving the newborn phase (sleep, developmental, therapists, pelvic floor.. to just name a few). I looked up some of the experts, and their usual one-time fees would add up to be more than just taking this class! You also have access to a weekly Breastfeeding Support Group, which was casual and drop-in style (not intimating at all). This class helped me gain confidence in taking my baby out, breastfeeding in public, dealing with a crying/fussy baby in public, and overall helped me in those early postpartum days to connect with other women going through the same thing. It was an invaluable experience, and I suggest all Mom's get involved in some kind of mommy and me class. I can't wait for the infant class! read more

I came to the New Mom School for a Second Time Mommy and Me Class for - you guessed it - second time moms...or in this case I'm a third time mom! But it was my first time going to a Mommy and Me Class because with my first one I was the first in my circle of friends to have kids so didn't know these existed and with my second I just didn't even think of it, but with baby #3 I figured I could try it as something to do to get out of the house and meet some other moms in similar situations. And I'm so glad I did! The class had 8 sessions and topics included nutrition, sleep, parenting, marriage changes, how to manage a changing family dynamic with your toddler, etc. I had a fun time at the class and it felt like a very safe space to talk through any issues us moms were facing. It was really nice to meet a group of other moms in the area and we went out to lunch frequently after class was over. 4 stars because it's a bit on the pricey side and I feel like I'm really just paying to meet some other moms :) read more

My daughter and I love our New Mom School experience. We did some research online and came across the New Mom School. I was not really sure what to expect when we signed up but decided to give it a try. We signed up for the newborn class which started when my daughter was 3 weeks and lasted for 10 weeks. I was so lucky to get paired up with a great group of moms and babies. There were 14 of us, I believe, in the class and Britt was our instructor. The class really gave us a chance to connect with other new moms and babies. Every week we had a different speaker and loved hearing from all of them. There was a lot of great knowledge that was shared that I was not aware of or didn't think of as a first time mom. I took the newborn class. I thought most classes were super informative, although some classes were just ok. It was super pricey: $600 for one class a week for four months. My group consisted of mostly rich white women (at least my class did), who work part time, full time, or are stay at home moms but are in a really high tax bracket (own boats, have homes by the pier, etc). It was difficult to socialize with them since I had nothing in common with them. In addition, most were kind of cliquey. I would have liked to see more moms from different backgrounds and cultures. Maybe, in the future, they can offer scholarships to a few moms in the community who can't afford to pay $600. I would not attend these classes again when I have my second baby. read more

Hi Readers! If only I could put in words how wonderful New Mom School is- it has absolutely changed my life as a mom. My baby was born in January of this year. My friend had recommended this school to me and since all her recommendations have always been stellar, and I checked out the reviews I decided to join. I had no idea what motherhood had in store... I ended up having to have a c-section and breast feeding was one of the most difficult things I've ever had to deal with. I pushed the date of class further and further and then finally called Alex (founder of the school) to cancel. Alex talked me through my issues. Here I was, a hard working woman who managed hundreds of people, but I couldn't make it to New Mom School?! I was exhausted, I felt like I'd be out of place... I didn't even know how much I really needed this. Alex and I talked through my fears and decided to stay in school- man am I so grateful. The school is for us by us! It's not just a school it's a place to open up, be yourself, love yourself, love others, and by doing this you are giving back to your baby! I'm a happier mommy- I've made friends that will last a lifetime. I can't imagine where I would be today without New Mom School. Alex, I hope you read this and feel my gratitude...
