Oh my gosh, where do I start? Nicole is simply amazing. Amazing human, amazing energy, amazing support and amazing educator! My hubby and I learned so much from Nicole and her Bradley method classes. We were so comfortable and at ease in Nicole's presence that we chose (and were fortunate enough that she was available!) to work with her as our Doula for the birth of our first baby in my Hospital delivery just 2 weeks ago. My husband and I enrolled in Nicole's class on a recommendation by South Coast Midwifery. Our Midwives raved about Nicole, and now we understand why. We looked forward to her class each week. Her knowledge, methods, instruction, and energy prepared us for everything we eventually needed for our home birth. Nicole helped us understand and get comfortable with the entire birthing process. Instead feeling anxious as the big day approached, our confidence and excitement increased. We were planning a home water birth and we really wanted a doula there with us. Wow, where to begin? We are so grateful for Nicole and her amazing course. Every Monday for 10 weeks we would sit comfortably in her living room with other couples and learn about this amazing thing called pregnancy and birth! As the husband (coach), I felt like Nicole's course prepared me so much to support Candace in the ways that Candace needed. And Candace felt so empowered and knowledgeable ready to birth our baby the way she wanted. Each course was broken down into topics, such as Nutrition/exercise, the Coach, 1st stage labor, 2nd stage labor, etc. And we left each class in awe of how much we didn't know about pregnancy and birth, and so grateful that we were learning these things. There is a reason our birthing center (South Coast Midwifery) requires a birthing course, because the information is so invaluable and helpful. Nicole is such a loving, supportive presence. My husband and I took Nicole's birthing class, and she is absolutely the most amazing instructor! The number of classes seemed a little daunting, and I had to drag my husband to class the first time. However, after the first session, he was totally into it! In fact, he was telling a friend of ours that was expecting that they should take Nicole's class as well! Nicole really cares for her students and is such a great resource for advice with all the weird/unexpected things come up during pregnancy. My husband and I took Nicole's class last year as we were preparing for the birth of our first baby in August. I honestly cannot over-estimate the value of those 10 weeks. We both learned a TON, and felt so equipped and empowered going into our labor and birth experience. I had struggled with a lot of fears related to pregnancy and birth, and Nicole's class, along with her encouragement and support, helped settle so many of them. YES, YES, YES!!! The answer is YES, you HAVE TO take this class!!!! No matter what type of birth you are planning to have, this class is a must. Before we signed up for The Birth School, I thought, "Nah, I don't need a birth class. I'm pretty sure I know what I'm getting myself into, there isn't anything I am going to learn that I don't already know." Luckily, my husband signed us up anyway, and THANK GOODNESS that he did! I remember walking out of class each week thinking, boy was I wrong about knowing anything, I knew nothing!!!! nothing!!! Well maybe not nothing, but definitely not enough, and every week I walked away soooo thankful that we signed up and soooo thankful for Nicole Green. My husband and I had our first baby boy in January 2014. We had a natural birth at South Coast Midwifery. Our birth was the most beautiful and life changing event and I can honestly say that it would not have been the same without Nicole Green. Her class not only prepared us for the birth of our son, but it inspired and empowered us. We learned so much! Nutrition, meditation, labor positions, postpartum care, breastfeeding, and so much more. Like I said, every week I felt like we walked away with such valuable information. Which was AWESOME, but what I loved the most was that each class allowed us to have a conversation about pregnancy, how we were feeling, labor, whatever it was that we learned about and it really brought my husband Mike and I closer. When our time with Nicole and The Birth School was over, I knew that I was going into our birth with a coach (that's what Nicole calls our husbands) that was confident, prepared, excited, knowledgeable and in tune with me and my needs. Taking a Bradley Method class at The Birth School, taught by Nicole Green, was the best decision that my husband and I have ever made. Throughout the ten week course, we learned everything we needed to know and more about how to have the birth we wanted by using the Bradley Method. Not only is Nicole a fabulous teacher, but she is supportive, understanding, and goes above and beyond what we could have ever expected. Thoughtful the class, my husband and I learned valuable exercises and relaxation techniques to help prepare my body for birth. I also learned the proper nutrition that I needed to have in my diet to ensure we had the healthiest baby possible. We also practiced labor positions during class, which really helped us to visualize how labor would be. My husband and I felt so prepared to have a natural birth after taking Nicole's class. Nicole provided us with all of the resources we would need to write a well developed birth plan. She also reviewed our plan to make sure we didn't leave anything out. We also felt so prepared because we had practiced everything we needed to have a natural birth. From doing relaxation and visualization exercises to practicing birth positions, we felt completely ready! Not only was Nicole's class amazing, but she continued to provide my husband and I with support after the class was finished. When my doctor insisted that I needed to be induced, Nicole was readily available to offer us guidance and support. We were upset that I had to be induced, but Nicole reassured us the we could still have the birth we wanted and we did! Even with having small doses of Petocin. Three months later, we are loving every minute of time we get to spend with our beautiful and healthy baby girl! We still keep in extremely close contact with all of the mamas, dads, and babies from our class. We have two Facebook private groups that we use daily as a valuable resource for support...even at 3:00AM. We also have weekly get togethers where we get to spend time with each other. Nicole's class was much more than just a birthing class. It was a class that we will remember and speak highly of for the rest of our lives. My fiance and I just completed Nicole's 10-week Bradley Method class, and we are so happy we did! When we first read about Nicole through these reviews, it seemed like she would be a great instructor for what we wanted to learn as first-time parents, so we did not hesitate to sign up, and it was well worth our time and money. This class will educate you on everything you need to know about pregnancy and the birthing process. Nicole's teaching style is very open, unbiased, and educated. At the first class, every couple receives a Bradley Method workbook, but Nicole does not quite follow it page by page as time would never allow for that. Rather, she jumps through the most important parts of each chapter, and supplements it with additional valuable material that any other by-the-book class would probably not cover. She starts each class with a "coach's report" to engage the dads, and ends each class with a mini homework assignment that everyone discusses at the next class. Nicole is very attentive to her students when they have questions, and her answers are always carefully thought out to encourage the students to arrive at their own conclusions. If you are even remotely considering a natural and/or out-of-hospital birthing experience, Nicole's class will educate you on the pros and cons of various birthing options and you will find yourself reconsidering how you had originally planned your birthing experience. However, regardless of what choices you make, she will support and educate you so you are confident with those choices. The 10 weeks of class passed so quickly and we were sad that they ended. Nicole is truly the best Childbirth Educator I have ever come in to contact with. I first met and witnessed Nicole's classes as a fellow birth worker and Birth Doula as I chose to participate as an observer in her weekly Childbirth Education Series after hearing all of these wonderful words and such tremendous hype about THE Nicole Green! All I have to say is that the bar was set incredibly high, and Nicole beyond exceeded every expectation in the most beautiful of ways. What impresses me the most about Nicole's program is her impact she has on her clients. I can't say enough good things about Nicole! If you are considering a natural birth, then I highly recommend taking Bradley method classes with Nicole @ the Birth School. My husband & I learned SO much during the 10 weeks of class - from nutrition in pregnancy..to early/late stages or labor..to breastfeeding and other postpartum concerns. If it wasn't for Nicole (and hiring a doula), I'm really not sure if I could have had a successful non-medicated/natural birth. I think it's so important to enter your labor feeling knowledgeable and confident, which will happen if you take Bradley method classes. Before classes, I feared birth but that totally changed after the 10 weeks. I knew what to expect & what I wanted in my labor...and I was able to achieve my birth plan. Just an FYI because I was unsure when to start class, I began classes at 23 weeks pregnant and thought it was perfect timing (I could still make adjustments to my nutrition/exercise...and had time after classes were over to reflect upon everything). However, everyone else in our class was into their 3rd trimester so I was the baby of the group. Not only did we learn about the process and how we could create the birth we wanted together but we also were empowered to enjoy and be active participants throughout our pregnancy and birth. Can't say enough good things about Nicole & The Birth School. My husband and I were hesitant to take a 10 week, in-person class with other couples and considered doing online or private classes instead. Turns out we absolutely loved the class and everyone in it. We learned something new each week and it was always a special time on the car ride home after class talking about what we learned & about things we probably wouldn't have known to even have a discussion about. This class was the absolute best thing that my husband and I did to prepare for our baby. When I decided that I wanted to have a natural, unmedicated birth in the hospital, I knew it wouldn't be easy. To begin, I consider myself a normal guy. I watch Laker games, drink beer and eat meat. The stereotype of someone who is very "granola" seeking a natural childbirth is outdated. I feel as word spreads, it will hopefully become more and more normal to hear about. We had a Dr who laughed out loud when my wife said she didn't want an epidural. We knew then that we needed help to achieve a natural child birth and that we wouldn't get it from our Dr. My wife found "The Birth School" on Yelp, spoke with Nicole and we agreed to sign up. I admit, I wasn't really into taking a class like this, but I supported my wife's need to investigate "The Bradley Method". Nicole's class educated us and gave us the confidence to follow the road we knew was best for our family. We felt empowered and in control of our birth plan, we actually transferred to a birthing center after taking the course. We had our baby naturally and don't think we could have done it without the course. We had a beautiful experience and are so happy we found Nicole. I am a coach graduate of The Birth School. I had no idea what I was getting into when we started the classes. Although, I was 110% encouraging of my wife's decision to have an out-of-hospital birth (ok, maybe I was the one putting the idea in her head), I didn't really know my role, or that I even had one, except just to be there and not complain. When my wife told me we had to do this 10-week Bradley class (who is this Bradley guy and why do I care) and I was expected to attend them all, at first I was like, uh, what? and then I was thinking, "Oh, does this mean I don't have to go to the gym? Sweet!". Then I was thinking, are we going to be stuck in a room with a bunch of crazy people? Doesn't matter, still better than the gym. So we go and I find out everyone is just like us, first time parents that are just trying to navigate all the birth stories, myths and even weirder truths about pregnancy and birth that we hear from friends (or worse, read on the internet). Nicole broke everything down beautifully in bite sized classes, even breaking up each evening with a movie. She took my jokes in stride (although, I do believe you technically owe us a million dollars) and kept it pretty entertaining. By the end of the ten weeks, I didn't even realize I had many of the tools I would need to get my wife through the birth of of our daughter until it actually happened and I had to jump into action. That's the best kind of learning, when you don't feel like you are in school, but you get what you need out of the class and it feels like second nature to incorporate the tools you learned. This class should be a requirement for any father-to-be, but at the same time, I understand why hospitals are "scared" of Bradley schooled parents. It's takes the power out of their hands, into that of the parents and that's the last thing most doctors want, but exactly what they need to remind them of why they even got into the profession they are in, to deliver happy healthy babies. read more

My wife and I were required to take a birth class by the birth center we are attending, and to be completely honest I cringed when I found out that the classes were 10 weeks long, 2 hours per week. We couldn't have had a greater experience though. Nichole is super knowledgable and very welcoming of complete strangers into her beautiful home. She is an excellent facilitator of information and draws her students in with her dedication to her craft. It's taken me entirely too long to write this review as our daughter was born in April 2012 but since we have another on the way, we contacted Nicole about a refresher course and she obliged. The original class was such an amazing experience and really helped us prepare for M's arrival. Even after we had to deliver via cesarean due to breech positioning, we took to heart the principles taught in Nicole's class and were able to own many aspects of our birth even with the surgical intervention. Nicole is amazing!!!!!! I wanted to take a childbirth class that would teach all aspects of birth possibilities, not just the hospitals way but also prepare me for a natural birth and what to expect all the way till when our baby is breastfeeding!! She is so sweet and you feel comfortable asking her anything, And as a first time mom this was so important. I was encouraged to take Bradley Method birth education classes by my midwives and I feel so blessed to have found Nicole's class. The Bradley Method in general is great, but with Nicole it is AMAZING! She is the best teacher and person, so kind and supportive. My husband and I took Nicole's Bradley classes to prepare for our first labor experience. I wanted a natural birth and my husband just came along for the ride. The classes were very informative and covered eating healthy, exercises for a healthy pregnancy, baby care basics and everything regarding birth. We love Nicole and couldn't say enough great things about her and this class! We just had our baby daughter last week and know the experience wouldn't have been nearly the same without Nicole's guidance in the 10 weeks leading up to it. It's not always easy to make space in your schedule for an extra time commitment, especially when you're getting yourself in gear for parenthood, but this is 100% worth it. Not only is the material presented throughout the 10 classes super helpful, but Nicole makes herself available to you for questions/concerns throughout the pregnancy, labor, and postpartum, AND you get to meet other couples who are at the same stage as you. It really helps to talk to others in the class, hear their concerns, and hear Nicole's advice for them. It feels like a real community. I think one of the top benefits was that there was very little we were scared of after coming out of these classes. There's no way you can be prepared for everything, but I believe this is as close as you can get. She motivated us to take control of the pregnancy process (people involved, birth environment, etc.), and taught us how to ensure that the body can do its job well with minimal intervention. Nicole does a great job helping the couple work as a team. Bottom line - take this class; it's one of the best things you could do for yourself and your future baby! read more

I have nothing, but great things to say about Nicole! My husband and I loved taking the classes from her and felt so welcomed from day one. You can tell Nicole loves what she does and it really comes across during each class. We left the classes feeling very prepared and ready to have our little girl! We ended up having just the kind of birth we had hoped for. We labored at home most of the time with our doula and then gave birth all naturally at Saddleback hospital. Nicole was awesome! This is a great way to get prepared for the road ahead. Each class covers a new topic starting from pregnancy and taking you through labor and delivery, postpartum and baby care. The class was also very helpful in educating my husband who wasn't going to spend hours reading books. I would recommend this class for all expecting parents.
