I had the opportunity of hearing Hayley speak in a NMS class, but when I saw she was offering her own series I knew I needed to sign up. My daughter is newly 1 and I found all of the class topics and resources extremely beneficial and helpful for my husband and I. Hayley cares about your personal parenting stories, difficulties and even shares from her own experiences. Even though the class typically meets in person I did not feel that the zoom environment took away from the experience at all. It actually made it a lot easier and flexible for me. The best part of the class for me was the ability to ask questions every week in regards to issues I was currently experiencing. Hayley was able to give me immediate guidance, support and resources to look at for help. I felt that hearing other people's struggles and stories also helped me in feeling supported. I am walking away from this class with tons of information, guidance and resources! So much that I will need to go back and refer to. I also have multiple authors, handouts, articles that have helped shape and transform my parenting methods. I am also walking away with an entirely new understanding of how kids grow, learn and behave. This class has truly helped me gain more of an understanding, tolerance and patience for my daughter, myself and my husband. I delivered my baby at st Joseph hospital and they schedule you for a post delivery check here but…read morewe ended up not going go it since we got checked by our pediatrician. I did however schedule ppd and lactation consult here later. They have group and private lactation consults. You will need a referral from your doctor for the private one and you have to check with your insurance to see if they're covered as the hospital won't check for you. They are very swamped so you get an appointment few weeks ahead of time. I got a call that my appointment was canceled the day that I was supposed to go in but I got a call later and Danielle asked if I wanted to come in and that she would squeeze me in after she did the group classes so I wouldn't have to wait a few more weeks. That was so sweet of her and it brought tears to my eyes. Once I met with her she was so calm, knowledgeable and encouraging. She gave me so much positive energy and great tips to improve my situation. She even typed up the tips for me to take home. She deserves ten stars on her own! She also holds the group classes which I'll try to join. FYI you can get your parking ticket stamped at the assessment center for an hour of validation but you will definitely go over the hour if you're taking a class or have a timed appointment. It's $3 for an hour after that. They take card as well.

I was really upset because I was considering having my baby at this hospital. I decided to sign up for their 1st trimester class. When I pulled up to the building I was really freaked out by how trashed it was. There were even homeless people hanging around outside. I decided to leave and took a tour of the new UCI Maternity Ward instead. It's much fancier, more updated, and cleaner than this assessment center. My advice to St. Joseph's is to update this building ASAP. It is very un-welcoming in appearance.

It is…read moresomething I am very interested in, as I want my little girl to grow up feeling confident and happy, and believe in her ability to do just about anything. The session was lovely. We were a group of 7 mothers, and the feeling was intimate and friendly, even though I didn't know all the women that participated. During the session Lital explained what can harm our child's self esteem and gave us plenty of day-to-day examples. She gave us great tools and explained how to communicate with our children better, and make them feel more confident and believe in themselves. This has been a month ago and I still use these tools on a daily basis. I can't wait for the next session.
