I have been coming here for years for my pedicures. Service: over the years the service quality has declined. I have my go to ladies for pedis (i don't usually do Mani). I go here bc i can get callused heels and my go tos go in to leave them smooth. I don't like lights hands for pedis. The workers are cordial enough. But make sure to make apt bc as a walk in it turns to a hot mess. Even with apts I've been made to wait bc they forgot or didn't write me in. The massage chairs are a nice touch but nothing out of the ordinary. Cleanliness: pretty clean. I always loved that they plastic wrapped the Pedi tub for each customers. It's cleaner than some others i have been to buy nothing overly fancy as far as ambiance. They uv light clean all tool between customers. Price: i mostly came here for so long bc it was $18 for a pedi. Recently they've upped the price to $25 (not including tip). This has me considering going elsewhere bc now they are on par with other locations which are nicer and offer more and Cody the same. The owner also doesn't really like when you pay with card. You'll get a bit of an attitude so take cash if you can. Deffinately cash for tip! Quality:don't expect to get trendy designs or the latest trend in nail styles. This is a ordinary go in for regular pedí or mami maybe a french. Now that price has risen i don't like the price is worth quality of service. The massages have gotten more light and soft and service has deff become shorter over the years. I still like my pedicures but again it's one i can get anywhere else. Maybe even find better. Honestly I am so sick and tired of this place and the owner First and foremost THEY GET NO BUSINESS. It's always basically empty in there. This is literally my 3rd time there and every single time it is an issue . Mind you I just moved in the neighborhood and she is my NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR! I am literally trying to support and get horrible customer service every time. It's completely obvious that unless you are Spanish or White they will over charge you or give you the mediocre service. I'm from Brooklyn and was in desperate need of my nails to be done. I Yelp[ed] salons in the area and this one came up with the most stars. For starters it was walking distance from where I was staying; major plus. Next the place is spacious and clean, which is great. Then, as I entered I was greeted and immediately helped. To be honest,I had gone on a Wednesday eve, sure there wouldn't be a rush, but it's the summertime and the salon is always full. As for the service provided,my pedicure was nicely and neatly done. Only little peve was that my toes nails were cut slightly slanted, but the service was well performed. I had a color gel manicure... By far the greatest one I've ever gotten.. She, Soung my tech, was patient between coats, assuring proper setting of the gel. 1 week later and my nails still look shiny and new and they haven't cracked.. Where do I start...my usual spot was closed so I went to Lizzy to get a gel manicure and pedicure. My pedicure was fine. While I was sitting there having a look around the place is dirty. The lights and vents were filled with dust. Now my gel manicure...omg! She reused the aluminum foil from someone else to soak my nails. They did not have 2 colors in stock that I was intrested in. My gel was done. I went home. About an hour later I noticed bubbles on some of my nails. I called ASAP and went back. They were telling me its something that I had done and that it's never happened before. They also told me they didnt see the bubbles. Three people later yup there were bubbles! I have been a customer at Lissy Nail Spa since it's carnation, 1999-2000. Over the years the spa has gone through numerous changes, some good and some not so. After several failed attempts at different local salons, I would return to Lissy Nail Spa due to the convenience, cleanliness and comfort. Recently, I was happy to learn that the "NEW" Lissy Nail Spa is under new management. Gina, a very experienced technician in many spa services, has taken the reigns. She is assisted by her lovely daughter, who has a knack for dealing with customers, a definite asset for business. Under the new management, there are some positive, refreshing changes, for example; customer service and communication has improved dramatically. The technicians are taking their time and being very detail oriented. The spa now offers specials and they include a paraffin heal treatment with pedicures. If you are tired of rushed and mediocre services I recommend giving the NEW Lissy Nail Spa a try. You won't be in and out in 20 minutes and it won't be the cheapest you can find, but...you get what you pay for. read more

The only things this place has going for it are 1) the massage chairs (which aren't even the best I've sat in), 2) the small and homey-like atmosphere, 3) leg massage after they've pumiced your feet, and 4) the shoulder massage you get when you're waiting for your nails to dry...if you're lucky enough to get someone who remembers and doesn't skimp out on it. Oh, I guess the color selection is pretty good there, unless you like blues and other more wild colors. Otherwise, they're fully stocked on Essie and OPI pinks, reds, and whites. Honestly, I only go here because it's super close to my apartment and on my way home from school - strictly for convenience only. The Korean ladies are not exactly the friendliest, and if you're not getting a French mani or pedi or both, they'll hustle you along because the regular kinds are not as expensive. Call me a snob, but when I go to a nail salon, I'm there to relax and enjoy myself, not to get rushed through the process of picking my color and feel like I'm imposing. The hispanic girls working there are much nicer, and will give you a satisfying leg massage - they are also less likely to be stingy on the shoulder massage at the end. The prices are, in my opinion, exorbitant. If I'm not mistaken, a pedi is now something like $18? WTH, right? Also, last year, I was given a gift certificate for a manicure there...but when I tried to get a pedicure with it and offered to pay the difference, I was brusquely told that it was only good for manicures, and they wouldn't explain why they wouldn't accept it for a pedi. Ohhhhh no they didn't!!! Unfortunately they did! I got charged WAY too much for a mani/pedi here and received less than acceptable service too make it sting even more! Yes, sting is the right choice of words! I went here because its close to where I live. Typically I go to a place in Bayside that I hit on my way home from work but last week I was off from work and with the gas craziness I was trying to use my car less and my feet more. Sooo I went local. I mean its a mani/pedi no biggie right? umm not so much. So I walked a few blocks to this place on a Monday, a day of the week in which most places normally have the much sought after mani pedi specials. The place I go to has it for $14 but some places have it for up to about $16. So with this in mind I walked in and asked for the mani/pedi. I picked my color as per the normal drill. I will say they have a large nail polish selection which is nice. The decor is also nice but nothing to alert one that this place is in any way different than your typical run of the mill nail salon. Its not on the spa level or anything as far as the look of the place. The woman I had wouldn't even crack a smile and hardly coughed out a hello to me. I'm not used to this... She wound up cutting my cuticles too far and made me bleed in a couple of places. Now, I am not one to let this be a big deal. Accidents happen. Even the place that I go to in Bayside for years sometimes will occasionally cut a cuticle too far. Its all good its an assumed risk i guess. But I mean several times in one sitting in different spots is not so cool. But whatever. The other issue is that it took her over an hour and 40 mins. Now if my feet were all full of calluses and cruddy id understand but I take yoga often and try to make sure my feet are always presentable and free of calluses and said crud. I also have little kid hands and super short nails. So for this to have taken an hour and a half is INSANITY. Maybe this lady was new at the mani/pedi thing and I shouldn't hold it against the place but for goodness sake! Also my nails came out all streaky. Granted I picked a super light color but i always do and this doesn't happen. But wait...there's more. She didn't use a placemat or anything in font of her. My hands were straight out on the marble which kind of grossed me out a bit. But the place looks clean otherwise so I left it alone. Ready...here's the best part...after getting cut up and having some slightly swollen cuticles...sitting forever and having streaky nails...guess what I was charged for a mani/pedi and nothing more??? $29!! No they didn't?! I only have myself to blame! I should have asked first but who knew it could be that expensive at a place like this?! I have been getting mani pedis now forever and have never paid anything even close to that unless im in a real spa! Maybe $18-20 on a day when there's no special...but never this much! Its not as if it is a spa or in a super duper high end neighborhood so I assumed wrong...I was reminded again what ASSuming does. :-\ Lesson learned. I gave the place 2 stars because it looked generally clean and they have a lot of colors to choose from and i will give the benefit of the doubt that maybe the girl is new at this... but nobody there had a smile or was chatting or receptive ... and the prices are Insane! I have been here twice before. They are clean and very meticulous about how they do my pedicures, I've never had to wait, and the staff is very friendly. The pedi included a quick massage which is always awesome, especially for those who are on their feet all day. 4 stars because when I asked how much it cost to incorporate an extra 10 minute foot massage, they told me it would be $15 dollars making it a $32 pedicure not including tax and tip. I'm not a cheap person but that's a bit pricey. I've been to salons where they have charged half the price for that. If they lowered the price, I'd be happy to give them 5 stars. Got regular acrylic nails put on in a not so great salon in the Bronx, and I came to Lissy to get a filling. I explained my situation to them as the tips are regular acrylics and not powder or silk. They explained that the powder filling would be my best option and so I agreed to it. My lady was kind and respectful to both my boyfriend and I. She did a thorough job, although she cut me once. However, she blotted the cut with a disinfectant which I appreciated. In total, the filling came to be $28 with a quick dry coat. I am very satisfied with the job she did. I work in a restaurant and my hands are constantly in water cleaning dishes. My nailpolish has not chipped once. Amazing job! Told the staff I will be visiting again soon! read more

There's nothing too special about this place. Every so often I treat myself to a mani-pedi but this is not my favorite place to get my nails done. The technicians do an average job. They have a limited selection of OPI nail polishes. The decor could use some updating as it has not changed in the years I've popped in here. During the manicure, after your nails are shaped, oil is applied to your cuticles but unlike some other places, you don't soak your hands in water to soften the cuticles. As a result, pushing back/cutting of the cuticles can sometimes be a bit painful. They're also a bit rough with the pushing back of the cuticles during the pedicure. I had to tell the lady a couple of times to be careful. This should be a relaxing experience, not one where you wince in pain. The prices, especially the pedicures are a bit more expensive than other places in the neighborhood. They also charge tax regardless of how you pay at a rate of 8.875% instead of 4.5% (the correct local NYC rate for nail services). I was actually thinking about giving this place two stars for the subpar nail services but I decided to add one more on for the killer chair back massages they offer. $15 for 15 minutes. You'll feel like a completely relaxed person afterwards. read more

Not happy at all. I'm new to the neighborhood and figured I would give this place a try for a fill-in. What a waste of money. They have a very limited selection of color gel and it's cheap. The very next day two nails chipped. Paid too much money for that to happen. I'll just go back to my old neighborhood and have my nails done. So I came here and the place is pretty big and very clean. They have a HUGE selection of nail polish, mostly ESSIE and O.P.I which I love. The positive aspects of this place are the private lot (though it only has four spots, but there is plenty of street parking nearby) and the friendly service. Also my pedicure is lovely and intact. Terrible place! I've passed this place so many times and I said I will go in one day and I did I can say I won't be going back. I get gel fill ins and gel polish I DO NOT GET POWDER because I don't like it. It starts cracking in the top and gets caught in my hair so I've been doing uv gel fill ins. I've seen CLEANNN places and this is not one of them. Then I go for my nails and she takes off the gel and then does the usual and then the "fill in" part comes to play. First of all she was explaining to me what she was doing which ok that's nice but I know what has to be done I've done it a million times. And if anyone has ever gotten fill ins everyone knows that when they put the gel on your nail it's enough for the gel to form the nail and it's not thin it's a little more on the thicker side. This woman is put the gel on and just painting it like it was nail polish. So I said ok maybe that's the first thing she does and now she does it again and does the same thing. I was getting so mad because she was doing it completely wrong. Everything is wrong. Time to pay and she tells me 74 dollars is the total. 40 dollars for fill in and extra for gel polish. First of all if I get gel fill ins I should be getting gel polish for free wtf is that I have to pay extra. I can understand if I get acrylic and ask for gel polish then I should pay extra but I'm paying extra for gel fill in so I shouldn't have to pay for gel polish. Fast forward 4 days later they have chopped like crazy and it just looks terrible. I have been going to my girl in another place for a bit now and I pay 38 dollars for gel fill ins and gel polish all together and nothing more and my nails last a month and I can push it even more if I need to with no chipping either!!
