Her husband and kids participated in loving and "helping" Watson learn!!! Which I know is huge for us! Caitlin allowed Watson to be a puppy, make mistakes and try again. He learned, succeeded and thrived. The ultimate outcome, Watson will be a very well mannered dog, but that will take work on OUR part. If you plan on applying, I guarantee they will hire you because they desperately need the staff. I recommend you save yourself the time, and effort though. Because no one stays longer than 6 months. I got hired on the spot, and I worked here for 4 months (wayyyyy too long btw). It was a filler job until I could set myself up with a job opportunity that was long term. The only reason I stayed that long was to pay my bills, and I was in the middle of a move so a lot was going on. By the time I quit there was a completely new staff, I wish I was joking. The management at this company is horrific. Anything you ask of them will NOT be listened to. Can't work certain days or times? Doesn't matter. Wanna take time off? You're gonna be heavily questioned, AND judged. Being bullied by a coworker? We're going to continue scheduling you with them. You haven't been trained in a building? We're gonna schedule you in that building almost your entire time here. EVEN THOUGH you've also voiced you would not like to work in that building 5 separate times. The "assistant manager" Andrea Sosa was bullying me one day, and when defending myself by asking her to stop she threw the biggest temper tantrum I've ever seen from an adult. I got written up, and she received no retribution. Probably because she's the only employee who has stayed long term, and they can't afford to lose her. But she talks and sings to herself daily.. so she may be disoriented from being here for the past 20 years. If you would like to keep your sanity get out while you can or you may end up like her. Throwing temper tantrums like a 5 year old at 60. I cannot express enough how much I dreaded going to Pawsitive Thoughts. Nothing was positive about it, except for getting to work with dogs everyday. Every shift was hell. The main reason being this woman. The head manager, Andrea Lang, is so EXTREMELY passive aggressive, and unbelievably uncomfortable to be around. I was miserable working here, and I realized it was because she is too. The ongoing pattern of snide remarks, constant judgment, and impertinence is so beyond unbelievable. The audacity that this woman has is astounding. My final straw to get out of this mess was the day she violated HIPAA. I've never been so offended and made so uncomfortable at a job. One night I had to take my fiancé to the emergency room, I called off of work ahead of time for the next day to stay with him in the hospital. When coming back Andrea Lang asked me personal intrusive questions about my fiancé's health while I was on the clock working. I was shocked. This woman's never asked me anything personal until this day, and it was blatantly obvious I was not in the mood to talk about it. And then had to tell her she was making me uncomfortable with the questions. It's just insane to me that I, as a 19 year old have more social awareness than a 40-50 year old woman who's somehow a "manager". Yet she barely manages. The lack of professionalism this woman has is beyond me. And of course all of this over cleaning up poop, pee, and vomit for 16 dollars an hour, 30 hour weeks, and no benefits at all. I'm hoping this review saves someone else the time and money…read more Our usual boarding place was full for the holiday, so I reluctantly looked for alternatives. When I called to schedule an evaluation, the manager (Jennifer, I believe) strongly encouraged me to go ahead and book the holiday dates. In hindsight, this was likely just to secure our money (more on their refund policy in a moment). I specifically asked if my deposit would be refunded if my dog didn't pass the evaluation and was told yes. What was not made clear to me over the phone: they do not issue refunds. Ever. They only "credit" your account for future services. I wouldn't mind this if I were already a client, but I've never sent my dog here, and at this point he hadn't even been evaluated. About an hour after booking the evaluation and boarding (and putting down deposits for both), I found reviews on Yelp and Reddit, and a news article, stating that a dog had died here due to alleged negligence about a year ago. Out of safety concerns, my partner immediately called to cancel everything. Only then were we fully informed of their real refund policy and told that our $600+ deposit would not be returned, but instead would sit as a "credit" on an account for a facility we would never send our dog to after what I learned. And when we brought up the incident, the business placed the blame entirely on the dog owner. Let me be clear: I am not posting this because of my safety concerns or the alleged incident. I'm posting this because I truly feel we were scammed. They intentionally avoided explaining their refund policy over the phone to secure payment from us. I feel completely taken advantage of. The Acre never clearly disclosed their refund policy when speaking to me and made no effort to ensure I understood it before booking. If you're considering the Acre, please make sure they provide full, upfront transparency around their refund policy before you hand over any money. This entire experience has been an absolute nightmare. And no, my credit card company was not able to dispute the charge.

Our dog was found dead roughly two weeks after escaping from The Acre. This is not a safe place to…read moreleave your pet. Dogs can't tell you what happens when you're not around. We are responsible for speaking on their behalf. I was a customer of The Acre over the course of the month of June 2024. I chose them based on their google reviews, followed their suggestions for onboarding, and ultimately lost our dog due to my decision to place her in their care. My experience with the staff at The Acre has been distressing. They have proven to be more concerned with maintaining their rating on this site than they are with admitting and correcting the wrongs that ended my precious dog's life. Barret and Madelyn (who run The Acre) have not been able to tell me when Wendy went missing or from where on the property. They have placed the blame for this event on an anonymous scapegoat, shirking any responsibility themselves. I believe that every action they've taken to find Wendy has been in their own self-interest, informed especially by the way they are handling deeply justified, relevant, and necessary criticism of their safety protocols. Need I remind you, my dog is dead and they were the last people to see her. If I were them, I would not spend my energy attempting to hide this fact from the public, but working to drastically raise the standard of safety at The Acre. They put on a good show, but that is all it is- a show. It is my strong opinion that The Acre is not a safe place to leave your animal. I wish desperately that I had taken a more critical eye to this place and the people who run it before leaving my dog with them, and I beg you to do the same.
