I continue to be impressed with the pure volume of stores and massive real estate it encompasses. I shopped dozens of stores from Gap, Polo, Nautica, American Eagle and many more. From clothing, to toys, to home, to kitchen ect. There is just about everything. It is fairly easy to navigate. There are some popular stores like Nike. I've used their restrooms numerous times. I do notice they try to keep up with cleaning and suppling the essentials. But, it can be a hit of miss especially when it is super busy. They do offer discounts for military in certain stores, sometimes teacher discounts, and also discounts for emergency service employees. You just have to ask honestly sometimes there is a sticker on the window. You can definitely find some deals especially around holidays and prime shopping times like back to school or tax free shopping days.

Recently I had the opportunity to visit the square that's nestled between The College of William & Mary and Colonial Williamsburg. During Christmas is one of my favorite times to visit this area. It was hoping too! Crowds were beginning to arrive in Williamsburg for The Grand Illumination the next day. There was music, and a Christmas spirit in the cool crisp air. I visited a few shops that I had time for that were both favorites and new to me. The Cheese Shop for a snack. This shop has been a place I have frequented for decades, it's awesome and an independent run store like most others. I went to R. Bryant, a men's store. Lulu lemon, Danforth Pewter and a new shop Walkabout Outfitters which is a small chain. It replaced a very well known and established independent store I shopped since early 2000. If you're looking for a unique place to shop, eat and also take in a show at the Kimball Theater then Merchants is the place.

The value was a bit unexpected as I assumed this would be more in line with outlet pricing. No biggie though, I thoroughly enjoyed myself here, and the fact that it wasn't completely overwhelming. The staff are much more friendly and engaged, at least on my 1st visit here, than is typical in such places. This seasonal & end-cap displays are set up with a good eye for detail. With help from the cheerful young lady at the front, I was able to find what I stopped in for (puppy training pads for my bunny's cage) with no trouble at all, and paid half the price the pet supply store next-door chargers for the same product. So many different businesses have occupied this exact address, here's wishing burkes good luck and staying power.
