I stopped into Dick's the other day for a can of Mace. I walk downtown daily and have had a few…read morealmost-altercations with drivers who don't understand they need to stop for pedestrians who are halfway across cross walks with the walk signal, so I wanted to arm myself in case I ever encounter an extra aggressive motorist. I used to have a can on hand when I worked in a fairly dangerous part of North Philly (that I never used), but that stuff expires after a few years, so it was time to refresh! When I walked in with my mom, we were immediately greeted and assisted with finding the Mace. They actually had a large selection of cans, which I thought was pretty random but nice. I chose the pink one without tear gas for $15 and was quickly on my way. The rest of the store seemed clean and well-designed, but I didn't stick around to browse. This location is in the Willow Lawn shopping center surrounded by a bunch of other chains, but parking was easy on Sunday. I'd return for sporting goods or some more Mace if needed in the future. Let's hope I never have to use it!

While price isn't an issue for me, I didn't bother to look at the prices because I didn't like anything. I guess if you pay $500 for an ugly dress, the price makes it less ugly? On the bright side,their new location across the street on Grove is spacious and inviting. I've often wondered why they don't put a sign up with the name of their store. A friend recommended Fleet Feet ages ago but I didn't finally give them a try until I hurt my foot in the gym partially due to very old shoes. I came in on a Friday evening and two other customers were already there but Anthony did an amazing job of bouncing between us and providing excellent service. I explained my situation, what kind of workouts I typically do, and he walked me through the measuring process which consisted of stepping on a platform and walking a few strides over a cushiony mat. (Thank god, you do not have to run!) Anthony explained my readings & shortly came back with three awesome options he thought would be great for me. Unlike Cinderella, though, Anthony nailed it on the first shot. The CloudFlow shoes felt so amazing they made me realize just how old and worn out my other pair was! Due to some discrepancy in my arches, Anthony also recommended some insoles which he custom cut for my new kicks. In addition to that, I also snagged some workout gear from their selection. The shoes were $140, insoles $50, and the gear was $60, so not cheap but you can definitely tell it's quality stuff! I already wore everything for the next morning workout and it all felt great! I attempted to check the receipt after checkout and was told to " have a nice day" while doing so at the register. I felt brushed along and sorta like the cashier was giving off a " be on your way" vibe. No one was waiting in line when I approached the registers. Line one and two were lit up. I asked who wanted to take me and cashier number two eagerly offered to. She was nice enough. Not rude but interuptive as I counted my cash and I felt rushed. It states clearly on the receipt I was charged twice for the item. I went back w my husband today with the receipt. We asked for a manager as I was charged twice for the same item. We were not accusatory. The cashier called her manager in front of us saying she had customers " claiming" they were charged twice for the same item with attitude.The manager came out and was fairly dismissive and snarky of the situation.My husband asked about their cameras and if they could look back at yesterday's goings on at the register bc the receipt is time stamped etc. It will prove I only purchased ONE plant stand but on the receipt charged for two as I purchased nothing else from the gardening area. The item is marked twice on the receipt saying I purchased seven items when I purchased six. Its all in the video footage. The manager claimed to not have access to the footage in her own store. She had attitude about it and said someone would be in touch within 48hrs with an answer as to whether or not I will receive a store credit.She did not even bother mentioning a refund.The whole experience was fishy. I was asking some questions concerning the camera footage as we were walking out. The manager ( black female covered in tattoos on her arms and a short dark Bob hair cut proceeded to tell me I was being rude. She had a serious attitude problem. I'm disappointed with the customer service. I replied by letting her know I didn't find her not rude and the cameras were on her as well bc she told me the cameras were on me. I have nothing to hide.I don't believe I will be giving my money to this location any further. We proceeded to take our money to the homegoods in shortpump and the experience was and is always more pleasant concerning the staff. No one has ever said hello at willow lawn homegoods or asked if they could help with anything, the bathrooms are filth, so go elsewhere first. The store is fine if you can help yourself ( I can and rarely ask for help) I just sadly found this staff to be defensive, unapologetic, and mostly, the manager unkind. We will be talking with corporate as we have a way to do so directly. We are waiting 24 hrs to do so but the manager at homegoods willowplace in Richmond was most unkind. I sense dishonesty there and realize if its up to her, we will see no store credit/ refund and she will take pleasure in that. I recommend a different location.
