Such a great experience at Fleet Feet it left me wondering why I hadn't visited sooner! With an effort to be more active in 2022 came a much needed shoe upgrade. A friend recommended Fleet Feet ages ago but I didn't finally give them a try until I hurt my foot in the gym partially due to very old shoes. I came in on a Friday evening and two other customers were already there but Anthony did an amazing job of bouncing between us and providing excellent service. I explained my situation, what kind of workouts I typically do, and he walked me through the measuring process which consisted of stepping on a platform and walking a few strides over a cushiony mat. (Thank god, you do not have to run!) Anthony explained my readings & shortly came back with three awesome options he thought would be great for me. Unlike Cinderella, though, Anthony nailed it on the first shot. The CloudFlow shoes felt so amazing they made me realize just how old and worn out my other pair was! Due to some discrepancy in my arches, Anthony also recommended some insoles which he custom cut for my new kicks. In addition to that, I also snagged some workout gear from their selection. The shoes were $140, insoles $50, and the gear was $60, so not cheap but you can definitely tell it's quality stuff! I already wore everything for the next morning workout and it all felt great! The staff here is so incredibly kind and helpful. I had my feet properly measured for new running shoes, and I really appreciated the time dedicated to each customer. I liked being able to jog around the shop to get a feel of the shoes and the ease of ordering different color than what they had in stock. Bad experience with one of the male staff. When I ask for a type of running shoe; he keeps coming back with, "we don't have that in your size" (9 or 91/2) is my shoe size. He made a reference of only women wear size 9 in those type shoe. He should say; "however I can let you try on the men's size 9 that we have and see how you like them" If he made me satisfied with his efforts and I still didn't like the ones he brought out, I would have a least bought a pair of socks or shorts for his effort and you would've made $$ for your store read more

I visited the above location and received the worst customer service - if you can even call it that. I arrived to the establishment and didn't receive an ounce of acknowledgment which should have been a red flag. However, I did not make much of it because all 5 (1 gentleman and 4 women) of the associates were assisting other customers so I opted to wait patiently. Once 2 *insert confused face* of the associates finished helping ONE customer (maybe 5 minutes into my visit) they went to the back of the store never to be seen again (during my visit) nevertheless, I continued to wait. A little while after, another woman associate finished assisting 2 customers, walked passed me - not once but twice - cleaned up the area she'd just finished in and in that very moment I just knew I'd receive assistant, WRONG! She too went to the back of the store and then retired to an office. After 15-20 minutes of waiting no one uttered "what brings you in today", "how can I assist you", "someone will be with you in a moment" not even a "hello" therefore, I left which I honestly should have done when I first entered the store; the absence of engagement should have been a sign of the experience to come. I considered visiting another location however, I chose not to subject myself to such an unpleasant experience again since all of the locations in the area are franchised by the same individuals. I'll likely never visit a Fleet Feet anywhere as this experience has soured that idea. I will be taking my talents and money elsewhere and suggest others do the same. read more

Finding the right shoe is such a stressful hassle for me. But I can't recommend any place higher than Feet Fleet on Patterson. Specifically Kerri, they were amazing at helping me find the perfect shoe. After measuring my feet and bringing out a few options to try and me being indecisive on color, they asked me "If you could ideally have any color shoe you wanted, what would it be?" I nervously answered pink. It can be uncomfortable as a man asking to look at the women's shoes in a man's size as they don't make many men's shoes in pink & you're never sure the reaction you might receive. Kerri was extremely friendly, supportive, and even excited to help me find the best pair for me. It's sadly unusual to feel so comfortable and welcomed when having a request such as mine but Kerri made me feel so supported and validated, even making the comment that we could match because they were wearing the same pair I ended up purchasing. She was beyond everything I expected & more. There was another pair I was interested in purchasing but they didn't have the color I wanted, so Kerri looked them up and found them in stock for me at the Short Pump location, even going the extra mile to write down the name, size and color for me to make my experience easier when I went to purchase this second pair. I came in looking for running shoes for my flat feet and sometimes shin splints. Mark was really helpful in finding the right shoe for me. He measured my feet, examined my walk/run, and suggested the appropriate type of insoles for my feet. He and the staff are very friendly, knowledgable, and patient. They are not pushy either and listen to what you have to say. Their price point is very fair and comparable to other stores and online, especially when you consider the exceptional customer service that comes along with it. Although they have a good selection, it would be great if they had more color options for the shoes that they carry. This is the perfect place to go if you are looking for the right-fitting shoe! I recently decided to run the Monument 10k and wanted to get new running shoes. I saw that Fleet Feet was the top rated running store on Yelp and they did not disappoint. They have a foot camera that gives them information on your feet's size and shape in order to give you the best shoe. I was helped by Kay who gave me three shoe options, put them on my feet, and let me run the hallway in them. I love the men's selection in store, the fit and style is what I'm looking for in terms of multi-functional workout gear (slim/form fitting and easily mixed with street wear when I'm not working out). Fleet Feet has provided the best shoe fitting experience for me in RVA. I used to go to and live by The Running Store up in Northern Virginia during my cross country/ track days. Fleet Feet is my new go-to, every shoe that I've been fitted for has felt amazing and provided the necessary support for my long distance runs. I also prefer to shop with small businesses over driving out to a mall like short pump. My sportswear/running store options are usually between Fleet Feet or Road Runner however, I prefer Fleet Feet even though they're farther away from me because they have more community events/runs. January 2 of 2023, I purchased a $165 pair of Brooks sneakers for purposes of walking about 2 miles per day. At the end of May, I noticed my right big toe was already popping through the upper mesh. I went back to the store to discuss a refund or exchange, and the female associate with whom I dealt told me I was well beyond their 60 day return policy, and claimed running shoes should be replaced every 3-4 months anyway. When I spend this kind of money on a pair of sneakers and only use them for a 2-mile walk daily, I expect a minimum of a year's wear. She noted "You're also wearing them socially since you have them on now", which was for the purpose of showing them my issue! She flatly refused to offer any compensation and referred me to Brooks for further assistance. I told her that was the last time they'd see me in their store, and she said "OK", and said she had another customer to assist and walked away. Take your business elsewhere. read more

She asked me questions, fitted/mapped my feet, watched me walk, and produced two pairs of shoes for me to try. Fleet Feet provides incredible customer service and the shop is clean, well-organized and bright. They had the shoe I wanted and helped me with great care and attention. I was surprised by the absence of a gait analysis system; I thought the good 'ol treadmill/camera/playback setup was standard in running shops of this caliber. Luckily I've done my fair share of gait analysis at Run Colorado and Boulder Running Company and now know how to accurately gauge if the shoe adequately responds to my slight pronation. Another gripe (albeit a minor one): the only mirror was in the fitting room. I really would like a glimpse of my 'kicks from one of those specially angled shoe store mirrors. I went here & I didn't realize it was even before the grand opening! The people working here are great & they know about running. They have all the running accessories you could want (gu, rollers, shoe inserts, hydration stuff, socks, etc). Apparently they also have some training groups and other information sessions (about foam rolling, using the add a day etc). Pricing is pretty standard as to what you see at other running specialty stores. The great service will have me coming back. You should check them out if your a runner, but be warned... you will leave with more than you came for.
