Such a great experience at Fleet Feet it left me wondering why I hadn't visited sooner! With an effort to be more active in 2022 came a much needed shoe upgrade. A friend recommended Fleet Feet ages ago but I didn't finally give them a try until I hurt my foot in the gym partially due to very old shoes. I came in on a Friday evening and two other customers were already there but Anthony did an amazing job of bouncing between us and providing excellent service. I explained my situation, what kind of workouts I typically do, and he walked me through the measuring process which consisted of stepping on a platform and walking a few strides over a cushiony mat. (Thank god, you do not have to run!) Anthony explained my readings & shortly came back with three awesome options he thought would be great for me. Unlike Cinderella, though, Anthony nailed it on the first shot. The CloudFlow shoes felt so amazing they made me realize just how old and worn out my other pair was! Due to some discrepancy in my arches, Anthony also recommended some insoles which he custom cut for my new kicks. In addition to that, I also snagged some workout gear from their selection. The shoes were $140, insoles $50, and the gear was $60, so not cheap but you can definitely tell it's quality stuff! I already wore everything for the next morning workout and it all felt great! Fleet Feet for the win! read more

Fleet Feet - New shoes!!! - Sports Wear Near Me - Richmond, Virginia

The staff here is so incredibly kind and helpful. I had my feet properly measured for new running shoes, and I really appreciated the time dedicated to each customer. I liked being able to jog around the shop to get a feel of the shoes and the ease of ordering different color than what they had in stock. I also got a great pair of inserts for my sneakers, and my ankles are feeling so much better on my runs with the new shoes and supportive inserts. Highly recommend checking them out! read more

Bad experience with one of the male staff. When I ask for a type of running shoe; he keeps coming back with, "we don't have that in your size" (9 or 91/2) is my shoe size. He made a reference of only women wear size 9 in those type shoe. He should say; "however I can let you try on the men's size 9 that we have and see how you like them" If he made me satisfied with his efforts and I still didn't like the ones he brought out, I would have a least bought a pair of socks or shorts for his effort and you would've made $$ for your store read more

I visited the above location and received the worst customer service - if you can even call it that. I arrived to the establishment and didn't receive an ounce of acknowledgment which should have been a red flag. However, I did not make much of it because all 5 (1 gentleman and 4 women) of the associates were assisting other customers so I opted to wait patiently. Once 2 *insert confused face* of the associates finished helping ONE customer (maybe 5 minutes into my visit) they went to the back of the store never to be seen again (during my visit) nevertheless, I continued to wait. A little while after, another woman associate finished assisting 2 customers, walked passed me - not once but twice - cleaned up the area she'd just finished in and in that very moment I just knew I'd receive assistant, WRONG! She too went to the back of the store and then retired to an office. After 15-20 minutes of waiting no one uttered "what brings you in today", "how can I assist you", "someone will be with you in a moment" not even a "hello" therefore, I left which I honestly should have done when I first entered the store; the absence of engagement should have been a sign of the experience to come. I considered visiting another location however, I chose not to subject myself to such an unpleasant experience again since all of the locations in the area are franchised by the same individuals. I'll likely never visit a Fleet Feet anywhere as this experience has soured that idea. I will be taking my talents and money elsewhere and suggest others do the same. read more

Finding the right shoe is such a stressful hassle for me. But I can't recommend any place higher than Feet Fleet on Patterson. Specifically Kerri, they were amazing at helping me find the perfect shoe. After measuring my feet and bringing out a few options to try and me being indecisive on color, they asked me "If you could ideally have any color shoe you wanted, what would it be?" I nervously answered pink. It can be uncomfortable as a man asking to look at the women's shoes in a man's size as they don't make many men's shoes in pink & you're never sure the reaction you might receive. Kerri was extremely friendly, supportive, and even excited to help me find the best pair for me. It's sadly unusual to feel so comfortable and welcomed when having a request such as mine but Kerri made me feel so supported and validated, even making the comment that we could match because they were wearing the same pair I ended up purchasing. She was beyond everything I expected & more. There was another pair I was interested in purchasing but they didn't have the color I wanted, so Kerri looked them up and found them in stock for me at the Short Pump location, even going the extra mile to write down the name, size and color for me to make my experience easier when I went to purchase this second pair. Thank you Kerri & Feet Fleet for making me feel so welcome, I will be a returning customer! read more

Very personable staff that really want to find the right fit for you and your specific needs.

The took the time to measure my feet and fit me for shoes. They explained which features are important in a running shoe and why. The prices are a little steep but they are really good products and the education they provide is absolutely worth any potential extra price. Also, as a novice runner, I appreciate that the expert runner fitting me for shoes was non-judgmental. She made me feel like part of the runnners' club. They also are taking very good precautions for Covid. read more

Went by Fleet Feet on Patterson to help kickstart my 2020 goal of running my first 5k. I was a bit anxious and worried about feeling out of my element as it had been YEARS since I'd run. Tarra was extremely kind and helpful in navigating different shoes to find what was best for my needs and running style. Looking forward to breaking in my new kicks and making some pain free progress thanks Tarra!! read more

I came in looking for running shoes for my flat feet and sometimes shin splints. Mark was really helpful in finding the right shoe for me. He measured my feet, examined my walk/run, and suggested the appropriate type of insoles for my feet. He and the staff are very friendly, knowledgable, and patient. They are not pushy either and listen to what you have to say. Their price point is very fair and comparable to other stores and online, especially when you consider the exceptional customer service that comes along with it. Although they have a good selection, it would be great if they had more color options for the shoes that they carry. This is the perfect place to go if you are looking for the right-fitting shoe! I will definitely be coming back in the future and recommending this store to others. read more

I came to fleet feet after researching running shoes for shin splints. Hoka Ones were recommended. Jason and team fitted me and worked extra hard to get my size. I'm really happy with the customer service and the shoes. Will buy from you again!! Thank you fleet feet! read more

They were amazing- could not recommend more! I truly had the best experience and feel like I can actually run again in the shoes they put me in. They use a fair amount of tech to see what type of shoe, arch support, etc works best with your foot. They were so helpful and so nice. Will definitely be back again. read more

I recently decided to run the Monument 10k and wanted to get new running shoes. I saw that Fleet Feet was the top rated running store on Yelp and they did not disappoint. They have a foot camera that gives them information on your feet's size and shape in order to give you the best shoe. I was helped by Kay who gave me three shoe options, put them on my feet, and let me run the hallway in them. I found a pair I think I love and while they are expensive I think the experience was worth it! read more

I love the men's selection in store, the fit and style is what I'm looking for in terms of multi-functional workout gear (slim/form fitting and easily mixed with street wear when I'm not working out). Fleet Feet has provided the best shoe fitting experience for me in RVA. I used to go to and live by The Running Store up in Northern Virginia during my cross country/ track days. Fleet Feet is my new go-to, every shoe that I've been fitted for has felt amazing and provided the necessary support for my long distance runs. I also prefer to shop with small businesses over driving out to a mall like short pump. My sportswear/running store options are usually between Fleet Feet or Road Runner however, I prefer Fleet Feet even though they're farther away from me because they have more community events/runs. AND all the employees and super nice and helpful! read more

Fleet Feet provides incredible customer service and the shop is clean, well-organized and bright. They had the shoe I wanted and helped me with great care and attention. I was surprised by the absence of a gait analysis system; I thought the good 'ol treadmill/camera/playback setup was standard in running shops of this caliber. Luckily I've done my fair share of gait analysis at Run Colorado and Boulder Running Company and now know how to accurately gauge if the shoe adequately responds to my slight pronation. Another gripe (albeit a minor one): the only mirror was in the fitting room. I really would like a glimpse of my 'kicks from one of those specially angled shoe store mirrors. Despite their attempts to upsell me on socks, inserts, and a massage stick, I left with what I came for. read more

Would not shop for shoes any where else. The staff makes sure that your foot fits a particular shoe, or that a particular shoe is right for your foot. Very happy with this store. I shop between Richmond and their Carrboro / Chapel Hill store. Super helpful staff. Thank you! read more

January 2 of 2023, I purchased a $165 pair of Brooks sneakers for purposes of walking about 2 miles per day. At the end of May, I noticed my right big toe was already popping through the upper mesh. I went back to the store to discuss a refund or exchange, and the female associate with whom I dealt told me I was well beyond their 60 day return policy, and claimed running shoes should be replaced every 3-4 months anyway. When I spend this kind of money on a pair of sneakers and only use them for a 2-mile walk daily, I expect a minimum of a year's wear. She noted "You're also wearing them socially since you have them on now", which was for the purpose of showing them my issue! She flatly refused to offer any compensation and referred me to Brooks for further assistance. I told her that was the last time they'd see me in their store, and she said "OK", and said she had another customer to assist and walked away. Take your business elsewhere. read more

I needed to get a new pair of running shoes so I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and was immediately provided the best service by Hannah (I'm pretty sure that's her name)! She asked me questions, fitted/mapped my feet, watched me walk, and produced two pairs of shoes for me to try. She was knowledgable and was never pushy which is what I'm always apprehensive about when going into situations like getting shoes fitted. The service was excellent, I walked away with exactly what I was looking for, and have been running comfortably in my new shoes for a week! read more

Great service. Staff were sooooo friendly and they even ordered a shoe for me since they didn't have what I wanted in stock. These folks really know what they are doing. Plus, it makes me feel good to by from local small business owners. Love that they have a weekly run (on Tuesdays, open to all) and free classes like yoga listed on their website. Plenty of off street parking. Great location. read more

I was very impressed by the quality of service I received at Fleet Feet! They mapped my feet, watched me walk/run and listened to my needs/wants for a running shoe. The employee who helped me knew exactly what I needed and provided shoes to try on that matched my running needs. I never felt rushed. I will definitely return for my next pair of running shoes. read more

Fleetfeet has a great selection and the customer service is unbeatable. Great experience and will now be a long time customer. John was fantastic! read more

Amazing service. Megan, especially, is super knowledgeable and personable. This company treats you like a VIP when you come in, utilizing 3D scans of your feet to pick out exactly the right type of shoe for your foot and your needs. Turns out, my feet have changed over the years, and part of my confusion with buying shoes is that I've been buying the wrong size and wrong width. It was so scientific and Megan gave me her undivided attention and expertise in picking out the perfect shoe. Highly recommended. read more

Fleet Feet Richmond gets my highest recommendation. The owners and staff are friendly and extremely knowledgable, and they offer a level of customer service that is rarely found these days. They're always helpful and happy to answer questions, but they're not "hard sell" types, which is exactly how I like it. They make everyone feel welcome, whether you're an elite runner, you want to begin a Couch-to-5K program, or you're somewhere in between. Fleet Feet offers a great selection of running shoes, apparel, and every running accessory you can possibly think of, and prices are comparable to other stores. You won't have to search for a salesperson, and they will fit you with the right shoes and sports bra (if applicable) and recommend products to help with the aches and pains of running. But Fleet Feet doesn't just sell you stuff. They provide support and encouragement, and share their knowledge to help you become a better, safer, healthier runner. They offer free programs such as Tuesday night Fun Runs, monthly Muscle Maintenance clinics, stress management, and yoga. They also offer a training program for beginning runners (or non-runners wanting to become runners) called No Boundaries. At $100 for 10 weeks of twice weekly training sessions, No Boundaries is the best deal around. Thanks to No Boundaries and Fleet Feet, I'm running again, for the first time in many, many years. read more

I'd never been fit for running shoes before coming here, even when shopping at other local running stores. Lacey was very knowledgeable and did a wonderful job helping me, even with my pickiness about colors. My first pair unfortunately didn't work well with my feet, but returning them was a breeze. Lacey once again helped me and I am now very happy with my selection. I will definitely be returning when it's time for another pair. read more

I went to Fleet Feet to buy a new pair of running shoes but was honestly clueless as to what I needed. I got my feet scanned and Emily helped explain what each measurement meant and how that would correlate to my shoe choice. I was given multiple shoe options to try on and even got to run around outside to really feel if they were right for me. All of the employees were kind and helpful, and all took the proper COVID measures (masks, sanitation, etc). I would recommend Fleet Feet to anyone, from beginner to an ultra marathon runner! read more

Jeff Wells and his staff are very knowledgeable about running and the shoes you need to wear! I have had sports injuries and have been been so patient with me when I try on new running shoes. They periodically have classes on running related topics which are beneficial to both beginner and advanced runners. Love the Tuesday evening fun runs. They usually have a sponsor and give away free stuff. All levels of runners attend the fun runs! read more

I have hard to fit feet including bunions and fallen arches. Emily gave me great service. We tried 3 different brands and I walked away with an awesome fit. I took them for a run this morning and they are working well for me. I highly recommend Fleet Feet. read more

I went here & I didn't realize it was even before the grand opening! The people working here are great & they know about running. They have all the running accessories you could want (gu, rollers, shoe inserts, hydration stuff, socks, etc). Apparently they also have some training groups and other information sessions (about foam rolling, using the add a day etc). Pricing is pretty standard as to what you see at other running specialty stores. The great service will have me coming back. You should check them out if your a runner, but be warned... you will leave with more than you came for. So many goodies & they are great sales people (not that its hard to coax runners into buying stuff for running...)! read more

Emily was awesome with helping me find shoes and the right inserts that would protect my Achilles tendon and prevent pain from Plantar Fascitis. I do group exercise classes and have worked out three times in three days since getting the shoes. I feel that my workouts have new life since I'm no longer worried about my feet or in pain. The right shoes clearly have made all the difference with helping this 50-year-old enjoy physical fitness again. read more

Tops in service and products here! After years of buying running shoes at outlet malls and department stores, I figured it was time to have a specialist help me find the right shoe. I was greeted immediately but there were a few customer ahead of me, so I sat and waited just a few minutes as the sales team juggled through the queue. Beth asked lots of good questions, scanned my feet and made recommendations based on the info she gathered. After trying on a few, we found the perfect fit and features for what I needed. Then I was pleasantly surprised by the price - making this visit a tremendous value. (And - yeah, I checked - their prices for the same shoe were less than what was listed on Amazon.) read more

I am very hard to fit for athletic shoes. The salesman was sure he could find the right shoes and did not let me give up. He was even ok when I said I needed to think about the shoes that I ultimately ended up buying. I would highly recommend Fleet Feet Sports in Short Pump. The shoes can be a bit pricey. The reality is a good pair of shoes is worth it. read more

The owners and staff are so incredibly friendly! They totally get being part of a community and what that means. I have been a part of their first No Boundaries program and I am now a runner! Fleet Feet is incredible! As a competitive athlete they are my go-to for running shoes and accessories. The whole staff is super friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about their work, and will go out of their way to ensure your satisfaction (thanks again for the complimentary post race massage guys!)
