Pablo is an excellent communicator a hard worker and they are just the best in the business. I highly recommend new earth Landscaping.!

I requested a small retaining wall in my backyard and it came out just as I had envisioned. Pablo and his crew where very professional, accommodating and took time to answer my questions and make suggestions. Pricing was appropriate. I enjoy Pablo's spirit and plan to use him for other projects, especially because he is licensed and I trusted that he knew what he was doing. read more

We hired Octaviano Pablo and his crew to redo our full front and back yard and we couldn't be happier with the experience and the results. We had a separate planner design the yard and then we handed over the plans to Octaviano Pablo. He walked us through how his crew would execute the results in a comprehensive manner and took all of our suggestions and questions into consideration. O.P. is friendly, warm and a joy to work with. He has great suggestions for how to get what you're looking for and knows how to adjust if your exact vision hits a snag. Some other notes... Price - Very fair, well explained and exactly what we expected Speed - Excellent, his crew was constantly out there and even worked through mild rain on several days. Communication/Interaction - Excellent as well. He was transparent, kept in frequent contact, and was flexible when we had minor changes along the way. Quality - Also great. The yard came out beautiful with no corners cut along the way. In all, it was a wonderful experience that I can't recommend highly enough. We'd hire them again in a heartbeat for another project. read more

We really lucked out when we met Octaviano from New Earth Landscaping. He is a true professional and he knows what he's talking about. From our first meeting and conversation with him, we were sure he was the best person for the job, but we still got a couple of other quotes just to be certain. What convinced us to hire him was his contract. Compared to the other two we received, it was, by far, the most thorough and detailed, not only explaining everything he would be doing, but also, when applicable, listing the specific products he'd be using too. When work finally began (a few days earlier than expected, which was nice), we knew we had made the right decision. Octaviano started by introducing us to his crew, the hardest working guys you'll ever meet. He then spent a while going over our design plans with his lead crew member. While the work was in progress, he was onsite nearly every day. He also gave us constant updates as well as great advice and recommendations when our plans had to be tweaked here and there. Honestly, working with Octaviano and his crew was so easy. I think he really goes out of his way to make landscape projects as stress-free as possible for the homeowner. When the work was done, his guys cleaned everything up so well that no one would ever even know anyone had been there, except for the gorgeous new backyard that we now get to enjoy every day from here on out. What we got by hiring New Earth Landscaping for our backyard renovation was the peace of mind that the job would be done right and for us, that was the most important thing. For anyone looking to do a landscape project, we highly recommend Octaviano Pablo and New Earth Landscaping! read more

Recently, my husband and I had pavers and artificial turf put down in our yard, and we couldn't be happier with the outcome! The yard turned out even better than we expected. Pablo and his crew are excellent, they cleaned up each day before leaving, and we always knew what was going on in the yard. There were a few days it rained but if it wasn't raining very hard, they came out anyway. Pablo is a true professional and his team are true craftsmen. We would not hesitate to call on him again. In fact, we hope to have a few more things worked on in our yard. We appreciate their time and effort on the yard. I plan to spend more time outside this spring and summer. Thank you again. read more

We got 3 bids for our concrete path and paver repair. While New Earth was the highest, we chose them because the communication with Pablo and the detailed bid (and his willingness to adjust it in a timely manner) made us the most comfortable. Pablo was friendly, easy to communicate with, and had great follow through. When I wasn't sure what I should do on a couple points he gave me options and shared his opinion when appropriate. And we were thrilled with the entire process. It was completed efficiently, the crew was tidy and respectful of our space, exceeded expectations, and Pablo even identified a couple areas of concern or additions that were not on our radar, so we could address them. We will absolutely use them in the future! read more

I can't recommend Octaviano and his crew enough. They finished the job ahead of schedule, communicated at every step of the way, and have taken care of small details even after they finished the job to make sure we are happy. These guys are legit!!! read more

Had a fantastic experience working with New Earth Landscaping on our large backyard project. Pablo was super patient with us as we worked through the design process, gave us some practical recommendations to manage within our budget and end up with what we were looking for. His crew were nice and experience guys. Did a complete redo of our backyard - replaced old concrete with new pavers, new irrigation / grass and plants and landscaping. Were very happy with the result! read more

During my 40 year career as a construction law attorney, I had the opportunity to evaluate the work of more than one hundred building contractors. Such evaluation would typically revolve about whether the work was undertaken in a professional and exemplary manner. A few months ago, my wife and I decided to have our front and backyard lawns replaced by artificial turf. In so doing, and after doing some research on Google and Yelp, we had the good fortune of coming across many stellar reviews of New Earth Landscaping (hereafter "NEL"). Impressed, we placed a phone call to the Company. In less than 30 minutes our phone call was returned by the owner, Mr. Octaviano Pablo (hereafter "Pablo"). We told Pablo that we needed an estimate to replace our lawns with artificial turf. He was out to our house the next day doing what we considered to be an extremely comprehensive review of our front and backyard lawns. He also quite capably responded to every one of our questions regarding the prospective work. That evening we received from Pablo a bid for NEL to do such work. We also got two other bids from companies who were highly rated on the web. Even though the bid submitted by NEL was not the low bid, we were so impressed by Pablo that we decided to go with NEL. We could not have made a better decision. We found NEL's construction crew to be absolutely wonderful. Even though the work was being undertaken during summer month temperatures of over 90° and in some cases, over 100°, the construction crew was amazing. They all worked extremely hard, notwithstanding the oppressive heat. Pablo was present to supervise every day. In fact, he often joined his workers In doing the work itself. At the end of every day, NEL left the construction site clean and tidy. This was so very much appreciated by my wife and me. Also, the work was completed exactly per the timeline that Pablo had given us the first day we met. Pablo's communication skills were, and remain, superlative. We would meet with him several times a week. During these meetings, he answered our questions and would sometimes make suggestions that he felt would improve the appearance of our landscaping. We agreed to each of his suggestions. We are now extremely happy we did. Now, thanks to NEL, the appearance of our front yard and back yard landscaping has been improved one thousand fold. We could not be happier. In short, we give NEL the highest endorsement that we possibly can. NEL was absolutely fantastic. NEL has made our yard, which was very nice to begin with, nicer beyond belief. Of all of the 100+ contractors that I have evaluated over the years in my personal and professional capacity, I am most happy to report that NEL was, and is, the best. With my strongest endorsement, I am ... Dan Angius Alamo, CA read more

What a joy to work with a kind and honest contractor! We had New Earth install our artificial turf in our front yard. Octaviano was responsive with coming to give us a quote. He gave us a written quote and full on contract on that same day, complete with all of his location and licensing information. He was open and flexible and willing to work with us. When they came to do the install they were friendly, efficient, neat, thorough and timely. We were done with the project from Estimate to Install in about 2 weeks. Oh and the front lawn looks beautiful! Quality work by a quality team. We know this because we had a nightmare with our last contractor doing our backyard (which had to be done over no less than 3 times and it's still not right). We will have Octaviano come back to fix the poor turf installation in our backyard and pave our driveway and front sidewalk. We'd be happy to hire New Earth Landscaping again for anything work to do outside our house. You'll be happy you hired him. I think Octaviano is the happiest person on earth. When you meet him, you'll see. read more

Pablo came out to give us an estimate, we agreed on the work to be done & timing, and he was supposed to come back with the proposal. Completely left us hanging. Totally wasted our time. read more

NEL did a fantastic job on repairing all of our fencing after our stromy winter weather. The fences were literally falling down. Octaviano and his crew came in and relpaced several posts and were able to save the fence without having to replace it. We saved alot of money that way. They also tightened up all the loose fence boards and repaire a sagging gate. Awesome job on all. They accomplished in two days what would have taken me several weeks to do on my own. I highly reccomend them without any reservations. read more

Pablo and his crew did a fantastic job executing on the redesign plans we had made for our front yard. Throughout the entire process (which they completed a day or two early), Pablo was very forthcoming about any minor changes he needed to or suggested we'd make. He always provided several options to ensure we were getting tailored-results. The final product was exceptional and my wife and I have received countless compliments from neighbors as they walk our street. Also Pablo was willing to take a look at my backyard to answer a few unrelated amateur-level lawn care questions I had. He was also extremely good with my dog who loves to bark at strangers. His entire crew was very courteous and made sure that their equipment was never blocking our garage door or left in the yard in an unsightly manner. All in all, a wonderful experience. read more

We built an ADU in our backyard for our son and family and tore up most of our 1/2 acre yard. We had a landscape design person design everything for us and she recommended a few contractors. We went with the bid from Octaviano Pablo. His price, time frame and whole demeanor were major factors in our decision to hire him. He and his crew did the unthinkable...they started on time, always communicated, were very professional, did a fantastic job on everything and completed the job when they said they would! We know so many people in our neighborhood that are really struggling to get projects finished. He and his crew did everything...demoliton, driveway, artificial lawn, fencing, lighting, irrigation, deck, pergola, plants, hardscape patios....everything! We were thrilled with he and his crew, we loved having him here...We give him the highest recommendation! read more

I contacted Octaviano Pablo in January for an estimate on a landscape design. He replied promptly to my voicemail and we made an appointment for him to come in just a few days to look at the scope of the work. Within three days of our appointment he sent a contract, with an estimated start date for early in March. The work was able to begin a week earlier than originally estimated and was completed in 7 days. Pablo and his crew of four other men arrived at 8AM each morning and put in long days of steady work. The project entailed: removal of several old plants and shrubs; replacing the sprinkler system in front and back yards; new planting; replacing old bender board; building two small retaining walls (one brick & one wood; installing lighting in the front and back yards; and laying extensive yard fabric and mulch. Before purchasing the mulch, he brought five samples so I could select my preference for color and type. I expanded the scope of the project twice during the time his crew was here. Pablo happily accommodated these additions and issued itemized change orders each time that outlined the additional work. He was flexible and offered appropriate suggestions for location of fixtures for lighting pathways and trees. His excellent customer service included insuring that I understood how to program my new (wifi) sprinkler and lighting controllers and explaining how to check that the sprinkler nozzles and drip emitters were working appropriately. The crew washed down all hard surfaces at the end of the job and left the place spotless. I am very pleased with the outcome and I enthusiastically recommend Pablo and New Earth Landscaping for your project. Pablo is conscientious, reliable, and employs a wonderful team of hardworking men. read more

New earth landscaping was contracted to replace my front and backyard lawns with synthetic lawn. In addition they were asked to remove all of the ivy in my front yard and replant our side terrace area along our fence. The replanting of the ivy area included adding a water drip system to various native plants and grasses. Also We requested the construction of a dry lake bed. Pablo and his crew arrived on time each day for the one week project. Not only were his crew extremely hard-working but very experienced with this kind of project. They knew how to prevent weeds from growing and erosion control of the soil that was on a 30° slope.. I cannot be more pleased with the results produced. Pablo and his crew were very receptive to any changes that were requested. I give New earth landscaping five stars because they earned it. I would recommend their firm for any small or large landscaping project. sincerely, Tom Kramer read more

Really solid, professional work from Octaviano and crew. I recently bought a fixer-upper in Oakland that needed a new backyard fence and deck. Requested a quote online from several east bay companies and started doing research. Octaviano got back to me shortly after I requested a quote from New Earth to set up a time to inspect the space and provide a quote. Showed up on time, and his quote for the work was very reasonable and cost-effective. The deciding factor that made me go with him was the fact that his crew could start work in just a few weeks, which was at least a month before other companies had said they could start the project. New Earth showed up at 8:00 AM the morning the project started, ready to work. Tore down and disposed of the old backyard fencing quickly, and got the new fence up within approximately a week. Built a beautiful two-level deck around a couple of existing trees, which really improved the look and functionality of the backyard. And this was all working with site restrictions. The house is an older Victorian that extends to the property line on each side, which means they could only access the backyard through the first floor unit. Still managed to get everything in and out in a timely manner. Additionally, New Earth was able to take on an extra project on the fly. Before starting the deck, Octaviano built a French drainage system to divert water around the house when it rains. The drains are integrated beautifully into the backyard, with no exposed piping. Throughout the whole process, Octaviano was communicative and professional. Any time he had to make a change to the existing plan, he gave me a call to confirm the changes. Got all three projects done within a month, and I'd happily recommend New Earth to anyone looking to improve the look of their house read more

This review is specifically in reference to the major clean-up Pablo did on my yard. I've been living in Alameda for almost a year, in a charming house with a small patio. I have no interest in yard work, but want a presentable space for entertaining. So, in a very roundabout manner, I discovered Pablo. We made an appt for a free estimate, and Pablo came to assess the situation. His rate was very reasonable, and the results, which I've posted, are fantastic. As a consequence, I've arranged for monthly maintenance. Pablo also offers twice monthly maintenance, which I may opt for if things grow out of control. I can be more detailed once I begin the regular maintenance. read more

Seriously, we've been through quite a few gardeners, many whom were unreliable and mediocre at best. Pablo's Landscaping has been working on our condo's courtyard and our personal backyard for over almost 2 years now (he's finally on Yelp now!) and we couldn't be happier. The team is so friendly and honest and easy to direct. They are always going above and beyond and the price cannot be beat. I'll try and upload a photo of our yard. They did a beautiful job paving my patio with bricks. Really enjoyed working with Pablo--super professional and great communicator.

After 50 years my yard badly needed new landscaping and a drip water system installed. i didn't hesitate to call Pablo who I have known for at least 8 years. I wanted drought resistant and very low maintenance plants. I had plans drawn up with a garden designer and Pablo followed the blueprints exactly. He even added extra details without any extra charges. He stuck to the estimate. He and his crew were very knowledgeable and extremely hard working. They arrived at 8 am and worked till 5:30 pm everyday. They left the area immaculate everyday. For the water system they laboriously dug under concrete patios and sidewalks to place the pipes out of view. I have gophers and they planted each plant with a cage to protect the roots. I am extremely happy with the results. Thanks to Pablo and his crew. read more

Pablo was professional and gave us a very detailed estimate of services. His crew always showed up on time each day and they worked hard. We haven't had the best luck with gardeners in the past, mostly because they are flakey and they never show when they said they would, even after confirming the appointment. Pablo, however, was a different story. He's AWESOME and here's why: - he's friendly and so easy to work with. - he's punctual. And when he's late, he will call to let you know how late. - he works hard and he did a gorgeous job with our back yard. - his fees are reasonable and does not overcharge. - he's easy to communicate with and will work with you to beautify your yard. My husband and I don't have a lot of knowledge when it comes to plant names or planting. Pablo will offers suggestions to improve our initial ideas. I have been using Pablo for almost 6 months now and couldn't be happier with the service he's provided. He's punctual, very hard working and a great value as well. Pablo and his brother did a great job on our backyard. They were mindful of our pet dog and our chickens, and cleaned up every day after they finished. The project took a week and they finished on-time and within budget. Who could ask for more? My backyard is now a place for us to enjoy instead of feel embarassed about when guests come over. Pablo's value does not stop at his amazing work and reasonable prices. Pablo was instrumental in the design of our yard. He offered suggestions to improve on my initial ideas, including more appropriate plants and better placement. He was also very good with the plumbing, as our backyard is very poorly appointed when it comes to water. I can't wait to see how the beautiful trees that Pablo suggested for our yard turn out, and watering the over 50 new plants and the new lawn is a breeze. Pablo also took extreme care with the cost. When an estimated cost turned out to be more OR less than we initially planned, he let me know immediately before incurring the altered cost so that I was aware of everything. Althought Pablo won't give you a nicely printed and computer-generated printout of the itemized estimate, he does write everything down in his notebook and walk through the costs with you. BEWARE!! I am changing my review from 5 stars to 1 star sadly. Pablo left a message that he "lost" the $200 check I wrote him almost two weeks ago and asked for another check. When I checked my bank account, the check had already been cashed. When I mentioned this to Pablo, he said that he was sorry that he had made a mistake. He did cash that check but had lost the another check from that same day and called me by accident. The work that Pablo and his brother did on my yard was great, but now I will never trust him. I found him to be completely unprofessional and suspicious in the end. :( read more
