I would recommend Porter Family Dentistry to any person who has comprehensive dental needs with specific regard to restorative care. Personally, I required an extensive amount of dental treatments and Porter Family Dentistry has worked with both my budget and tight schedule. This office works with most major dental insurers and the staff is knowledgeable about various plans/deductibles/coverage limitations. With that said, it is always smart to know your dental coverage prior to your visit, I went to another highly advertised dental practice (not Porter Family Dentistry) and they told me that they accepted my insurance, what they didn't tell me is that they weren't in network with my carrier, so now I owe this other practice a lot of money and received suboptimal care. Dr. Yamani in particular is exceptionally skilled in his work and I would consider him an expert in the field. Additionally, he always ensures that I am adequately anesthetized so that I always have a pain free experience, which we all know is one of the most important factors in choosing a dentist and a major concern/barrier to receiving dental care. I thought it would be convenient, but unfortunately, that was not the case. My first visit was a regular exam and checkup, followed by a cleaning on a separate visit, which went completely fine. After that, I scheduled a wisdom tooth extraction but had to cancel the appointment. I was told I would receive a full refund (almost $1,000), so I went ahead and canceled. That same day, I also scheduled a new appointment for a filling. I called on Monday to cancel the wisdom tooth extraction and request the refund, then came in on Friday for my scheduled filling. When I arrived, the front desk told me my appointment was never scheduled. They claimed they didn't know who scheduled it, suggested I may have called the wrong office, or that I scheduled through an operating team that "doesn't always communicate with them." They even tried to say it was my responsibility to call and verify my appointment, which I find unreasonable since they were the ones who scheduled me. Thankfully, the clinical staff was able to squeeze me in, and I only waited about 30 minutes. I truly appreciated that. However, the front office has been an ongoing issue. I later found out that when I called on Monday to cancel my wisdom tooth extraction, no one ever submitted my refund. When I went in on Friday, they processed the refund right in front of me -- days after it should have already been done. Since then, I've continued to get the runaround. I'm now being told the refund is still "pending" and that there's no update until someone else approves it, which could apparently take months. This is extremely frustrating and unacceptable, especially for such a large amount of money. I will not be returning, which is unfortunate because the doctors, dental assistants, and hygienists were all amazing -- kind, professional, and attentive. I have absolutely no complaints about the back office. Unfortunately, the front desk is disorganized and unreliable, and I don't want to deal with that again.

I am a new patient visiting he regular dental group, not the specialist. The front desk folks were great, verification of my insurance was fast and efficient. They were friendly and welcoming. Then a very through set of X-rays with Jennifer,it was my first visit,so this was expected. Then the dreaded cleaning. I was very pleased, they use the electric cleaning process and it makes for a fast and very good cleaning. I will be going back and I'm happy to find a dentist that is so good and close.

Everyone in the office knows me by name, and I know I'm getting the best care I can get for my teeth. One of the reasons I specifically like Dr. Burke is that he's not filling-and-procedure-happy: whereas some dentists would rather take your money and fix the slightest imperfection in your tooth with a crown, etc., Dr. Burke would much rather see you keep your own teeth for as long as you reasonably can, employing preventative maintenance techniques to keep your mouth as healthy as possible. Oh, and the timeless question: do the hygienists talk to you while their hands are in your mouth? Nah, they're really good about that. They're all very friendly without making you uncomfortable while cleaning. There are even televisions mounted to the ceiling to watch while during the appointment. I highly recommend this office.

They DID NOT do our cleanings as requested. They wanted to do deep cleanings and all kinds of other work close to $1000 each. We were upset that our original request was not fulfilled but other costly work not requested was. We now both are being billed for work the insurance will not pay for. It does not matter what you request, they will did what want they wanted to when you are seated and then bill you for that work.

He came over and pulled my tooth out side ways leaving an open ditch up to my sinuses. I had to have reconstructive surgery for two years to replace bone and tissue in order to have an implant.
