An exploded fuel oil furnace, and its' pending replacement, warranted my need for a chimney sweep. I called New Buck, along with a couple of others, and within 24 hours they were my only return call. Eddie, the owner, came out, cleaned the chimney, was reliable and professional. He also informed me that my chimney had mortar deterioration and that a liner was required prior to my new fuel oil furnace install. The furnace company confirmed this and his price of $2,200. We set a date for the install, but at day one and day two, he stated that the liner had not come in. By day 3 afternoon I was nervous that perhaps I was being scammed, and that my $1,100 deposit was going to be stolen with no completion of work. I told Eddie my concern. He was justly upset, promised me that was not the case, showed up at my home to drop off ladder and supplies to comfort me while he headed to Columbus to retrieve the liner. Upon his return, we discussed his difficulties finding good help, the problems facing business owners today, and his fears. As a small business owner for 35+ years, I acknowledge and sympathize with what entrepreneur's face in today's market. Bottom line, I am giving him a perfect star for perfect effort. Support your local small business. I wish Eddie the best, and thank him for his efforts. read more

Called on October 16, 2020 to schedule service. They quickly called me back to schedule service. Was scheduled for Thursday, November 12, 2020 afternoon. Called on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 to confirm. Person I spoke with said that I had no appointment. When I gave her the number that called me back in October, she said, "Yep, that's my cell phone. I must have been at home and forgot to bring your information to work." She then went on to tell me that they would still be here Thursday, November 12, in the afternoon. I took off work to be home. No one ever came or called to reschedule. read more

These guys rock. Used them every year for the past 3 years and they are on time, highly professional, reasonable, friendly - get the job done. Plus, you can request an appointment online and they really do follow up in less than 2 business days as promised. You won't go wrong. read more

When I moved into my current house about a year ago, I noticed a huge fireplace and chimney that was awesome but very old and falling apart. I searched on google and lender up finding New Buck. I got an estimate from Eddy and decided to move forward. Eddy came out a few days later and rebuilt and waterproofed my chimney and we put a stainless steel liner down it and it works like a dream! Eddy was awesome and was the price was reasonable and I will definitely be getting of New Buck again! read more

Ed, the owner, called immediately after requesting service and came same day. He was extremely professional, polite, and did great work. We also talked a bit about the challenges of hiring people who do this type of work nowadays and how in the past some employees were responsible for a lot of no call no shows. All I can say is that my experience was amazing and I'm looking forward to hiring new buck for all my chimney/wood-burning stove needs. read more

Made an appointment to have my chimney cleaned and was given a 4 hour window. After 4 hours, I called to see if they were running late. I waited another 2 hours and left another voicemail. I let them know I delayed my out of town travel by 2 days so I could keep this appointment and asked them to call me back. After a full week, never received a phone call to apologize or attempt to reschedule. New Buck was sold a couple years ago and the new owners are totally disrespectful of your time. I like to support small businesses, but I'm done with New Buck. read more

Worst customer service I ever experienced. Had 3 appointments and didn't keep any of them, nor did they call to explain why. Do not use, very frustrating!!!! read more

I have been trying to get in contact with this company online to schedule a chimney cleaning and inspection since January and no response. My in-laws have used New Buck in the past and gave raving reviews so we were so looking forward to using New Buck. Not sure why I can't even get a response after I have submitted two requests online. Such a shame! read more

If I could give this horrid company negative stars, I would. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Absolutely NOT the same owners. "Eddie" is a complete liar and you will never hear from him again when there's an issue. The employee they sent to our home had 2 weeks experience Mind you, we are 15 year customers AND they installed our WBS. When I called the office to voice my concerns, no one called me for 2 days. When my husband finally got involved we just agreed to have our $200 refunded and we would seek another company for services. One week later, no check from New Buck. Save your money and call a better company. read more

Chimneys are where these guys shine. For the past several years we've used New Buck for chimney cleaning and inspection. Here is what you can expect: - The window they come out in is pretty broad during a day, but they are normally punctual within that window. - They are straight forward. They will perform the service contracted for professionally and quickly. - They will clean up their work station that they set up in your house completely before they leave. - They are honest. If there are issues, they will inform you of the severity of the issue and if/when it needs to be fixed as well as how much it would be to fix it and if they can or not. Here is what you need to be aware of: - These are salt of the earth kind of techs who get themselves dirty doing their jobs....they work with soot... conversations are normally frank but polite. If you're looking for white button up shirts and a yes sir no sir attitude, you may not find it here. To be clear they are polite and efficient. - Outside of cleaning and inspection, real problems cost real money. If you're looking to have the entire inside of your chimney fixed, it's going to be expensive. I mean....it contains a fire in your house. Just keep that in mind. This company is not there to rip you off.....they do expect to be paid fairly for the work they provide though, and with their discount coupons on their website, you can save some cash and beat the cost another service provider would typically charge. In short, you could do much worse than New Buck in servicing your fireplace needs. Efficiency, honesty, and good quality are their hallmarks. Can't ask for much more. read more

Had appointment to have chimney cleaned. No show, no call. Don't use this outfit. Very disappointed.

Terrible service. Scheduled an appointment a month in advance to fix our chimney. Lady called and cancelled two minutes before they were to be at our house to do the work. I told the lady that was very disappointing and that I took time off from work to meet them and was not happy they cancelled at the very last moment. She didn't seem to care at all. If dependability counts.........your shouldn't count on them. Will never call them again. read more

Set up an appointment for two weeks out. Was told my appointment was between 12PM and 5PM. At 2:30 I was asked to reschedule because the "Technician had finished up for the day." read more

We needed our chimney sealed and tuck pointed. We had had an earlier estimate but before we could do the work, we had some unforeseen family circumstances come up. Realizing cold weather was coming, I called them and they worked me right in. They were polite, efficient, and timely. I would definitely use them again and they were also very reasonably priced. read more

They completed all the work that was needed done in one day. The lady at the office was very friendly. Only reason not a 4/5 star is the job was a little sloppy - mortar in places it shouldn't be. Otherwise satisfied with the job. read more

Keith did a great job and kept everything spotless. I will for sure call them back in the future!

I hired them to inspect my chimney and advise on options to get my fireplace working again. I was clear about this expectation when placing the original service call. They used a camera to find mortar missing between liner tiles. I was happy with this part. Once I asked for recommendations, and/or a quote to make it useable again, I received nothing of value from New Buck. It was like pulling teeth to get anything more than the original finding. After the inspection I called their office to make them aware that my expectations were not met and see if they could provide any further options. The woman answering the phone seemed clearly irritated by my dissatisfaction. I was expecting a professional to educate me on my chimney and options going forward. The service I received was far from that. I would call Blackburn in the future. read more

I have been a customer of New Buck Chimney Sweep for over 10 years. I could not be more pleased for the broad services they offer. In the past I've had chimney cleaning, chimney covers and chimney pipes. Recently, due to a poor repair prior to New Buck's services, I had to have my chimney completely replaced. New Buck gave me a very fair estimate. They took on the job of taking the chimney completely down, putting in a new footer, and rebuilding the chimney. My wife and I marvel at the completed product. I just received a call from the owner that they were going to come out and check out the work just to make sure I was happy. These people are not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get to work. Their customer service, quality of workmanship, and result keeps me as a returning customer. I could not be more pleased with the results and would highly recommend their services. read more

I've used a fireplace insert for years as the main heat source in my home. I had the chimney cleaned by another company and was not able to use it without smoke filling the house. I contacted New Buck and they came out and inspected the chimney and let me know there had been a fire and the chimney pipe was completely clogged. They used a camera to show me the inside of the pipe to confirm their findings. They provided a quote, came out and did the work and I am thrilled to say my chimney has never worked as good as it does now. I have heat! I highly recommend New Buck. Mark Price has assembled a great team of people who work to completion, explain everything they are doing and why, made suggestions on burning wood, cleaned up afterwards, and were just all around great people. Jenny in the office kept me informed and they showed up as scheduled. I won't let any other company touch my chimney! Thanks everyone! Joey Rhodeback read more

We have used them several times. We like to use local businesses when we can and this one is definitely local. Quirky staff but they know what they are doing and get the job done. Reasonably priced. After doing a dirty job, they clean up well. read more
