Wife and I decided to visit New Bern again on such a beautiful day. After a great lunch we went on a walk around town and wanted a coffee. Why not New Bern Coffee Roasters?! There's plenty of parking in the area. We found street parking in the shade. Bonus! Upon entering you can see the open space with sufficient seating and a nice bar/prep area with a display case that was already empty as we arrived in the afternoon. They do offer a variety of baked goods that focus on sourdough which is another bonus. Initially we were only going to order two coffees, but enjoying a sourdough chocolate chip cookie couldn't be ignored. Sourdough cookies are always delicious and this one absolutely was. I don't typically get a flavored coffee, but today decided to have what the wife was having. Caramel latte. The coffee, cookie, conversation, atmosphere, and service made the moment excellent. We both really enjoyed sitting there and taking it in. Really great place. Next time we'll try to get some sourdough bread. The samples they had near the register were very tasty! Highly recommend trying New Bern Coffee Roasters. I know we will return here. read more

Great spot to grab a brew and a caffeine fix. Table space is a bit limited. They have a bunch, but this is the sort of place people come to lounge and think: comfy leather chairs and thick wooden tables. When I was sitting and journaling, I noticed a few people twirling around searching for a free spot. The staff is very friendly and efficient. No straggling behind this counter! The wares are tasty. The Chai Latte dirty wasn't the spiciest I've had, but it did the trick. read more

I am kicking myself for trying this place on our last day here. Yes, they get a line to the door, but they move fast! The Lox toast was amazing. Not good, not great, but AMAZING! They don't skimp on the lox or the capers. Micro greens and some lemon. Yum. We also had the Sunny Bites, kind of like the Starbucks egg bites only bigger and less greasy. The cinnamon roll and honey lavender cookie were both delicious. Side note, everyone we have met in New Bern has been exceptionally kind. For example, we were looking for a fork, and a gentleman asked if we needed a fork too, then offered to get us one when he got his own. Kindness, pass it on! read more

Nice new place in Tuen. Traveling for work and needing a fix, the specialty coffee sign was the hook. Barista was engaging, and the various roasts were good. I bought a few bags and treated my mates to a great pour sesh. read more

Cute coffee shop in downtown New Bern! Trying to find a good coffee shop in New Bern? I was too until I tried out this shop. They have great coffee and espresso... but wait till you try their sourdough pastries! Baked fresh, their loaves are great and make amazing sandwiches. Also, I love how they have a variety of cookies, scones, and muffins with rotating/seasonal flavors. The staff are all super friendly, and there's a lot of space inside to study or just hangout. Will def be back! read more

I stopped by New Bern Coffee Roasters while I was in town dropping my son off at sleepaway camp, and I'm so glad I did! I had the avocado toast and a blueberry lemon scone, and everything was absolutely delicious. My son had the sourdough toast, which I of course had to try, and the bread was incredible. I loved it so much that it actually inspired me to try baking sourdough at home for the first time! The space is also comfortable, charming, and welcoming. It would be a great place to meet a friend, get some work done, or just enjoy a coffee and something delicious on your own. Such a great find in New Bern. I'll definitely be stopping by again the next time I'm in town! read more

I wanted to update my review after seeing some things online that genuinely changed how I feel about supporting this business. I brought my husband here because my first experience was really good. We came in pretty late on a busy day, so they didn't have much food left, which I completely understand and don't fault them for. Our coffees were amazing! I tried the banana bread latte.. to die for, BTW!! and my husband got a caramel latte, which he also really enjoyed. That being said, after seeing what has been shared online, including what appears to be proof regarding management and the way employees are treated, I can't in good conscience continue supporting this business. I don't care how good the coffee or food is. If a business presents itself as kind, welcoming, and supportive to customers while allegedly treating the people who work there poorly behind closed doors ( with allegations of also doing it in front of customer ) that completely changes my opinion of the establishment. Your employees are the people helping keep your business running. They deserve to be treated with respect, dignity, and basic human decency, not like they're dogs. The world is already hard enough without making it harder for the people who work for you. I genuinely enjoyed my experiences here, but good coffee isn't enough to make me overlook how employees are reportedly being treated. I hope management takes a serious look at how they treat the people who help make this business possible. To the owners, I don't know how California is but that sh** ain't welcome here! read more

I've stopped in twice now in four days. lol The Almond Milk Lattes I've had have been abnormally sweet compared to other places, which makes me wonder if their almond milk is vanilla or sweetened. (I'll ask next time.) They offer both to go cups and for here cups, which I appreciate the option. This is a true coffee house and it's nice to be in one! read more
