All I needed was some new buttons, but Tina goes above and beyond with the quality of work she provides. Her attention to detail and desire to get the dress perfect, was very evident in the work she did. Mrs. Tina is an amazing seamstress and made the wedding dress alterations the easiest part of the wedding. She did everything perfectly. My dress had TONS of beading on it that I didn't really care for. Now she could have took all the beading off and charged me an arm and a leg extra for it but instead she told me I could save money easily if I tried it myself and if I didn't feel comfortable she would do it. I tried it and got all the beads off and saved some dollars in the process. Mrs.Tina was a true professional and my biggest thing, through the whole wedding dress ordeal ,was honest. Tina knows Vera Wang like an old friend. She's an experienced, kind, funny seamstress and truly amazing at what she does. It's a lost art. Here's what she can and cannot do. She can't change your body size or shape. She can't magically make you look like a model. She can't make a cheap dress magically expensive. I'm sorry but if the fabric sucks...that's not the seamstress' fault. She can alter and add bustles. She can make the dress fit you better if you chose a correct dress. She can work with variety of fabrics in a timely manner. Wedding planning can be stressful but spending time with Tina in her shop was some of the more relaxing and fun part of the process. She knows what she's doing, and she's exceptionally meticulous. For my wedding dress she added 17 bustles, hemmed all 14 layers of my tulle and had me practice walking in my big white dress... by the time she was done with the dress it looked as though it was made to fit me. She also altered a dress I wore as a bridesmaid, and another that I wore to be a maid of honor... she magically altered the body so I could breathe and hemmed both so I would not trip over. In the time my wedding dress stayed in her shop I started to think of her like a fairy god mother who made sure I would look like a princess on my big day! She even taught my bridesmaid to bustle properly so everything would go swimmingly on my wedding day. I would recommend Tina to any bride who wants nothing short of perfection. Tina is great. I went by unannounced and despite not having an appointment, she took me in anyway. I dont usually wear clothes fancy enough to warrant alterations, so I was thankful that she took time to explain everything that could be done, and why it should or shouldnt be done. It's clear that she knows what she is doing, and I left feeling that my suit was in good hands. I even brought an old suit on a later visit for her to evaluate. I liked it, but it was outdated and she showed me exactly where the dry cleaner that i used previously had messed it up, and that it wasnt worth the cost of alteration to fix. When I tried on the new suit, although it was an improvement, she wasnt quite happy with the result. She made additional alterations at no charge and it was ready to next day. Since I don't get much stuff altered, I can't really speak on the overall cost. Based on how I look in ill-fitting clothes, I'd say it was worth the price to have a suit that fit. I had a wedding to go to and I had this very old and delicate blazer that was of my late fathers that was in need of some major alterations. My mom told me about this place and when I came, the owner was so nice to the point where I was going to call her "momma". She had great customer service and she treated me with respect. She also knows what she's doing. I wanted her to create a button hole in the blazer but she made the decision not to do that because she didn't want to damage the old blazer.
