Quick stop before our flight and wish we would have came here right when we got here. Great prices and enjoyed what we got.

The New Ashley's was our first stop after landing in STT, 12/26/23. It was a great choice, especially given that we could walk there, instead of taking a taxi. That made it ideal. I had the curried chicken, my wife had the BBQ chicken. Very flavorful and satisfying. Throw in a beer and painkiller, and it made for a wonderful first experience in the USVI!

Right across from STT (st thomas Cyril E King international airport) is this local shack. Choose a meal (goat curry with rice and beans, or conch empanada or something similar), grab a Carib or similar local beer, and chill. We did this waiting for our friends to land (few hours after our flight). It beats the airport options, plus you're sitting outside! Recommended!

Authentic local pates, lots of filling options. Friendly staff and great location near airport with outdoor, shady seating. Full Bar a plus.

Went here after the airport. The staff were really welcoming and helpful. Easy going spot with filling food. The oxtail was really tasty. The mutton was unique and similarly tasted good although a little salty for my taste. Sides were satisfactory as well. We had rice and beans and Mac and cheese. Hit the spot after being on the plane for so long.

LOVE this spot by the airport. Always have the best pate and tamarind juice. I would give 5 stars but they didn't have daiquiri two days in a row. The ladies are friendly and the items they do have are tasty.

Discovered this place last day on the island. Wish I new about this earlier in the week for I would have been eating here a lot. The food is excellent, local, and you can tell everything is homemade amd from scratch. I had the conch pate and my wife had the chicken pate, both were excellent. The dough was soft and not greasy. I highly recommend.

New Ashley's is a local favorite restaurant (small cafe with covered outside seating) that our hotel told us about. It is also a short walk from the airport. Six of us enjoyed a delicious cafeteria style lunch. There is a small bar.

Island life. Anyhow, we happened to notice the sign and walk down the thin alleyway to find this gem.  Drinks: Sorry, can not recall the price for mix drinks but I do know that they have 2 for 5.00 beers. This is a selection of four or five such as Coors light then prices go up to 1 for 6.00 depending on brand. Food: The "Shark Bites" (made w/Mahi Mahi) are very good. $10           The Coch fritters are also very good (his specialty). $12 for 12           The Fish & Chips...I would pass on. $6 This is the type of place where they treat strangers like you have been great friends for years. The owner/bartender/chef is a 76 yr. old guy by the name of Nala and he is great. He made an island special called the Bushwacker consisting of half a dozen liquors and it came with a great conversation ranging from comparisons to the U.S. and ancient Rome to Buddhist insights. Very cool guy. His sidekick by the name of Emilie was very cool as well lending a helping hand by cutting off some aloe branches that just happened to be in the bar to help my sister and I with our burns. I came with my sister the first time around and we agreed we needed to take my mother back. We did the next day and she loved it! Nala and Emelie made her feel at home with hugs and some free food ( Shepherds Pie. Not on the menu..yet ) that was very good by the way. All in all great spot for drinks and bar food. It is an indoor/outdoor beer garden so to speak with a bit of roof over the bar and palm trees over the table so it is even more enjoyable if it is raining. If you have any trouble locating it just ask a local as they all know.

We decided to take a chance and walk down the narrow alley which opens up into a lovely outdoor area, shaded by an almond tree. The owners could not be more friendly and helpful! My mom got a bushwacker and I got a margarita, both were really, really good! It's my mom's favorite bushwacker on the island! He also had a special concoction for a margarita, and he has perfected it!! To top it off, he cut me a piece of aloe from the plant by the entryway to soothe my sunburn! I will say, it took a long time to get the drinks, but we weren't in a rush to it didn't bother us at all! We'll definitely be back!

Pelicans Beach Bar is dangerously good at making cocktails go in and having the fun come out of you! $5 mix drinks, $4 beers, $8 crafted frozen all day for happy hour! This little 7 seat bar at the Ritz Carlton Resort is the farthest down the beach next to the serenity pool. Shhhhhhhhh......be quiet.....yea right when happy hour is all day and your bartenders are mad cool! Not sure of why they put this next to the "library" section of the resort but this bar just opened up in November. Our bartender Alex and her side kick Ryan were awesome compliments to the beachy view of St. John and our delicious cocktails. My favorites were the Lilikoi Mango Mojito and Caribbean Fiesta (not on menu but Alex knows of how to make them). For those Patron lovers like my hubby, try the Sandy Day, he loved it! Sushi is Japanese for yummylicious! Pelicans Beach Bar expands (seating wise) during the evening to a few 4 tops for an all you can eat sushi pig out session every Wednesday from 5p-8p for $45! Thursday's is taco day from 5p-8p with unlimited rice, beans, chips and salsa! You've already tortured yourself in dieting to get into bikini ready shape, let this sushi and taco fun be your free pass to choose your love of food, over not wanting to get fat! If staying at the Ritz these two nights should be checked out. If you don't want to chillax under the stars while listening to music next to tiki torches, you can box up your grub and take it back to your room. Tacos and sushi not your thing? You can order from Coconut Cove, another restaurant on the resort and they'll deliver your food to you at this bar. If not staying at the Ritz, great bay beach, which Pelicans Beach Bar sits on is actually a public beach. There is hidden free public beach parking past the main hotel lobby port cochere and down a steep road. Pictures attached show the way. My only complaint is that the bathroom locations seem like the distance needed to get to St. John. But that's the laziness (aka selective participation) in me that gets stronger with each cocktail! Cheers!

Drinks are only $8-$10 each, so we were at this spot several times per day. Really made our trip and stay at the Ritz Residences more enjoyable.
