Great little brewery right by Havensight Mall and cruise port. The food was fantastic. We got the Jerk chicken dip and the soft pretzel. Both outstanding. The burgers our group got had high remarks as did the tater tots. They had about 12-14 beers, ciders and sours to Choose from. Great little place. Small gift shop. Awesome, knowledgable staff. The girl behind the bar was awesome. I wish I got her name. This place has been open since 2017. The brewery is on sight and they do a " new" tribute/ special beer every year for the Anniversary. Neat place that I wish will Continue to have success in the area. If I'm ever back, I will definitely comeback. Overall a nice 9.0 out of 10. read more

Fun spot near the port in St Thomas. We headed in to try out a brew, and rum punch, while also just enjoying the area. Max was super friendly and we got some drinks and fries at the bar top space. Prices were super reasonable, especially since we were in a tourist hot spot. It has a solid brewery feel and you can do a flight to try out more options. We were a little disappointed at how early this brewery closed, but they are across from the cruise ship terminal, and apparently it isn't busy enough after the ships leave for the afternoon to stay open. They have a wide array of locally brewed beers, and all of the ones we tried were good. They also have a nice food menu with enough variety for picky eaters to find something they would like. read more

Very nice local brewery. Obviously I was on the island for vacation and had a little time to spare before we had an excursion. We couldn't tell if they were open or not at first but then saw one worker and a customer so we went in. I'm a seltzer girl so I sampled pretty much all they had that day and settled on their guava. It was good not the best but it cooled me down from the tropical weather. I ordered the pretzel appetizer and jerk chicken tacos. This was my first time trying jerk chicken and they were great. I really enjoyed them. I wish they had more merchandise to purchase since I love collecting local brewery shirts. The worker there was so friendly and told us his story and how he got to st Thomas. Stopped in for a beer while on vacation. We tried two different IPA's after we said we like very hoppy, full-flavor beers. We both decided on the same one. Being a vacation spot, beer was same price as at home, $7-8 a pint. The beer was good but service felt like they didn't give a rats-ass if you were there or not. We usually try to engage the bar staff and it was like pulling teeth here. They weren't overly busy either. Give it a try if you're looking to spend some time in St. Thomas before you get back on the ship. Surrounding area is full of tourist trap shops. Almost every shop had the same offerings. We were stopped in St. Thomas on a cruise and had spent the morning in St John. We thankfully had a couple hours to kill before the cruise was departing and Leatherback brewing was a delightful suprise that occupied our afternoon. Leatherback brewing is walking distance from the cruise port. You do have to go past the "gates" of the port but it's directly past those gates. The brewery was pretty busy with a lot of other folks from the cruise as well so definitely nothing to be concerned with. We started with a flight and tried a bunch of their beers. All were great with the oktoberfest being our favorite. We ended up being there for two hours just tasting beers and chatting with the bartenders. We also had some snacks as well. We purchased two 6 packs of beer to go, the oktoberfest and a variety pack. We checked them with the cruise when we got back on board and then we were able to collect them on night before debarkation. For beer lovers in St Thomas Leatherback brewing is a must stop for some amazing beers and bites. read more

My wife and I were on the Norwegian cruise ship Breakaway and we stopped in St. Thomas. It was HOT! This brewery was within walking distance of the ship, and we entered the establishment and its cool air-conditioning. It felt good! There were two friendly bartenders, and I ordered a craft IPA that wasn't too expensive, and I got a couple of stickers to trade with my brother-in-law as well. The nice thing is that they also had free wi-fi! Score! We didn't try any food, but they did have a menu and a kitchen. We chatted with the bartenders for about half and hour and it turned out to be a wonderful afternoon break! We walked back to the ship, watch your step in St. Thomas, they drive on the other side of the road than America! read more

What a great location! We had looked this place up ahead of our cruise stop in St. Thomas and made it a point to find it. It's not hard to find, as it's right across the street from Havensight Mall where many cruise ships dock. It's not a huge place, but had plenty of seating. We walked in a found a high-top tale, and were welcomed right away. They do have a food menu, and though not a ton of offerings we all found something we liked. I had the poke bowl, which was on special and was delicious. It was $20, which is maybe a bit pricey but was delicious so I didn't mind. They have a good offering of beers, though for a girl like me that likes lighter beers it did seem to trend more towards heavier beers and IPAs. That's not necessarily a criticism, since that's my personal taste preference, but an observation. I did find a vanilla sour that was very good! My mom wanted to get one of the seltzers, and the bartender noted that they tap wasn't working right so it wasn't coming out carbonated, but offered her to get it out of a can instead (which was fine). They also have a lot of cool merchandise: t-shirts, mugs, etc. I know proceeds from some of the merchandise goes towards conservation efforts with sea turtles, which is pretty cool. If you're looking for a good brewery when in St. Thomas, I highly recommend. I have no idea if/when I'll be back, but if I am, I'd definitely go here again! read more

What an awesome stop!! If you are near here make sure you take some time to grab a beer and a seltzer! The bar is nice and clean and decorated well. They have a large tap last for all different kinds of beer drinkers! I love seltzers and was surprised and super excited to see they had them on the menu. We grabbed some quick bites to eat and their food was just as good as their beer, if not better! The tuna bowl was greasy and the chunks of tuna were HUGE! Accidentally came across this place and boy am i Glad we did! Beer was fantastic and the bartender was super nice and filled us in on the happenings in the area. My husband and I went on a cruise and we're lucky enough to stumble upon this gem when leaving the pier. The beer was delicious and staff was so friendly. Lots to choose from including IPA's, sours, seltzers and more. The ambience is laid back. No food served here but great options surrounding the place where you can order and bring it in. I'd highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area. They treat you like regulars even if you're just a visitor. Beer tasted amazing. Stopped here for drinks in February. The inside is very plain. There are a few tables and a few upstairs. A couple that anyone can use on the porch which is shared with other businesses in that plaza. Parking is ok. Drink selection is limited. Super annoying chasing people around making sure they raised their masks in between sips when the tables are 6+feet apart. We got drinks to go and food from next door but I wouldn't bother coming back. This place feels like its made for tourists from the cruise ship port that is right across the street. read more

We had a great experience at Leatherback in St. Thomas! We happen to come in on trivia night, which was a very fun surprise! Even though we aren't regulars, both the trivia host and the bartender made us feel like we were. The bartender shared homemade bread with us, made from spent grain from the brewery. He also told us about how the brewery got started and some fun history on the business. The beers were wonderful, including their newest stout which I thought for sure would be too heavy for island drinking - but it was just right for a night cap! We bought all the fun swag we could, and look forward to coming back on our next trip to St. Thomas. read more

Stopped in Leatherback Brewing to kill some time before we had to head to the airport to fly back home. We got there 10 minutes before opening on a Sunday. I got to try their beer the day prior to visiting because it was offered on the boat tour, so I was excited to try it on tap. The gentleman at the bar was very nice, and let us try plenty of samples. Loved the blonde. Didn't get to try any food, but do recommend stopping by for a drink. They have liquor cocktails you can also buy, and beers to purchase to-go. Larger tables available for bigger groups upstairs. The best part is its indoors and they have AC, considering most places are outdoors on the island. read more

Drove into Charlotte Amalie specifically to visit Leatherback Brewing. The sign on the door said cash only today, and that was fine because we had cash. The man behind the bar let us know it was cash only as we walked in the door. We gave the thumbs up, to which he responded that the kitchen was closed too. There was outdoor seating, so my husband and I enjoyed some appetizers and a beer flight outside. You can choose your own flight. We loved the empanadas. Beers: good. Liked the Blonde and Reef. Atmosphere: horrible. Cold, not inviting. Only 1 other customer in tap house and TV was blaring loud. Every other word the actor said was the F bomb. We sat upstairs because it was so loud and obnoxious. It was still too loud, so went outside. Music or a sports game would have made it more pleasant and inviting. Service: 1 server on duty. Nice guy but he was more engaged with learning how to play a card game with his friend at the back of the restaurant than helping us. We had to interrupt his card game to see if we could order, and later pay. He never offered to tell us about the brewery, educate us about the brews available or check on us after we got our food/ beers. Food: bbq pork sliders and potato salad were good. Mango chicken sliders were dry. Chips/salsa were Tostitos and canned salsa. Nothing special. Should have ordered pizza or chicken at the restaurants next door. We would recommend popping in, trying some beers, buying a six pack and leaving. Not a pleasant experience to stay and eat. Disappointed and wouldn't return. read more

Stopped in for a flight while I'm town on vacation with my wife. The gent behind the bar was engaging and enjoyed his job, so we had a fun chat about island life. The beer was all quite tasty, and some of our favorites were the red ale and the pale, although it's hard to pick. Even the hard seltzer was among the best I've had. Tried a Polish Dog which went nicely with the beer. Menu isn't huge if you're looking for an actual meal, as they do tend to focus on bar food and snacks to go with your drink, just FYI. Great experience though and would recommend to anyone that needs a good brewery in town. We tried most others in the area and came away with this as our favorite. read more
